Her new partner understood the idea to keep working, if only to make sure the task was done, and a noticeable relaxing came over Kaida. It was wrong though, and she tried to call off the feeling. Nothing to be proud off, she knew. It might just end with them collapsed trying to help. Still, a nagging thought hovered in her mind. It might not. [break][break]

She chuckled as Ormr's name came up, nodding softly, "Yes, I figured it out when we were all traveling together. All types were with me, only he is called "snake", though." It might as well have been a special name for him, if anything else. They were all special, but Ormr was her partner, such a simple name was good for him. Jotun's tail thumped in sheer glee as Kaida smiled, not a tooth showing but happiness clear on her face, "Thank you, Deus is very good too!" [break][break]

Kaida didn't much know how to read what emotion was on another person's face, but she did notice a drop in mood all of the sudden, her own emotions falling off her face in reply. Oh, something went wrong. She didn't think she said something insensitive, did she? "A-ah...yes, they are strong..." Confusion swam over her face as she responded to the kind words, mixed with some sort of low mood. Something was happening here, but Kaida was ill-equipped to deal with it. [break][break]

As if to save her from a decision, Ormr's head peeked back over the rocks, at a slightly higher hole, but he made it back. Extending her arms, Kaida welcomed the Ekans back, allowing him to settle before asking the crucial questions, "Did you smell blood down there." A nod. Just great. "Did you see any bodies though...or smell rot?" A shake of the head, ending in a rattle of his tail. So they might have a Pokemon or person injured, or the rock slide was clear in entirety, and something just happened to get cut on the rocks as it ran. "We're going to need to be careful." She raised her head to her partner, "We could be good, or there could be someone injured under there. Are you ok...er, are you going to be ok doing this?" The mood hung on her head like a cloth, just as invisible as the brief moment of blood she noticed when she met the woman.

Kaida considered her options as she looked upon the battlefield. Silk could not take another hit and in battle, she would rather her Pokemon outnumber this ghostly apparition than let one face it all alone. "Stop hunting! Dodge!" She roared over the din of battle, the first she had given a direct order, and her Pokemon moved to respond. [break] [break]

Silk's coils and body shrank in an instant, expelling all the sand that made up the Sandaconda's impressive size, throwing off aim as its body was suddenly much smaller. Twisting out of the way, Silk doggedly drew closer to the ghost dragon, as if daring it to attack his Minimized body. [break][break]

At the same moment, Nid's body swam with a psychic light, the abrupt speed at which she moved carrying her out if the way of the fired Dragon Dart. Her close proximity to the Salamance, however, ensured that the Dragon Breath washed over her body, a cloud of electricity briefly washing over her body. Drifting closer to the ground, she flapped frantically, trying to maintain her altitude, to keep the air occupied and ready to strike. [break][break]

"Back to hunting."

Kaida marched forward purposely, barely flinching as the lights flickered out, but noting with a twinge of satisfaction that the scientists were yelling. Made it easy to find them, and there was no surprise when the attacks came their way. Ormr hissed as an Electro Ball rolled towards the group, fired by a Magneton that lit up the hallway, only to flicker back out as Hel met it in mid-air with a Leaf Blade, obliterating the electric type move. [break][break]

A clashing of metal against the wall rang out, the little light provided by a Luxray's eyes revealing Hel and Ormr slamming the metallic Pokemon down until it failed to move. "Hel. Round up our prey. Be careful." She added the last detail as the scientists stumbled back, yelling words she didn't have a chance to hear among everything else. [break][break]

Her Pokemon obeyed well enough, pressing towards the humans with a single-minded goal to catch. Kaida only hoped they didn't have more tricks.

Up ahead, Freya hissed and fell back as a particular placement of rocks crumbled beneath her claws, forcing her to stop their continuous movement as she searched for an easier to access route. Really, perfect for the two to have a moment to both control their Pokemon and talk momentarily. [break][break]

"I am fine, I am not sure about him, though." Kaida looked down at the horse, who shot her a look before flaring his mane and settling back down again, "He seems ready to fight." She had briefly considered raising her own opinion on letting the horse burn his energy in an actual fight to the owners, but knew well enough how such views would be seen by breeders, especially if they wanted a certain trait. Just when it seemed likely the Rapidash would move, with or without their say, Freya moved on and led on a relatively safer crawl, "I would think an easy way would be to make him fight someone stronger...burn energy and put him in place...this just makes him angry." Her wandering thoughts formed words that flowed with no filter from her, clearly not to enthused about their position.

Silk nearly fell back, unbalanced by both his new mode of locomotion and the attack. Perhaps if he weren't a ground-type, the Sandstorm would have have defeated him, but the tearing storm was natural to him. Instead, he charged at the the dragon, taking advantage of the close-combat. The attack was nothing Kaida had seen from the serpent, the again, nothing it was doing was something she had seen before. Sand built around its head and body, and exploded outwards in a sandy blast tinged with red fog. Eyes swimming in exhaustion, Silk suddenly shrunk, his body breaking down back into a regular Sandaconda. Still, he lifted his head defiantly, hissing at his opponent. Seemed he didn't question his transformation, like the Sandstorm, it had felt natural.[break][break]

Nid had frozen, but snapped to attention at Kaida's voice, "H-help him, you're fighting, Nid! Up!" The Salamance was a scary opponent, intimidating in every way, but it was ironically a less frightening opponent than whatever had happened to Silk. The titular wings of the Dragonair unfolded, and she surged into the air. Her body spun and a blue tornado sped towards the dragon. High up, and lacking the sheer length of Silk, Nid found that she could only focus on one Pokemon, but she would make it count! Watch, as the little Dragonair clipped the wings of a Salamance!

It was no secret that horse Pokemon needed exercise, and this typically wasn't a task that required the calling of a Ranger to accomplish, but this wasn't a regular task. Kaida felt the saddle of her temporary charge heat intensely, the Rapidash she sat upon clearly despising the idea that she had to control him for today. [break][break]

Unfortunately, listening to the request, this was undoubtedly necessary. The breeders had taken on some aggressive Pokemon, none more fiery than the one she struggled to make walk at this very moment. Thus, to prevent injury to other Pokemon enjoying some recreational time, Kaida was tasked with taking the Rapidash into the ashy base of Mt. Chimney, occupying the energy of the beast. Naturally, Ormr clung to her neck, ready to make the decision to bite the unruly horse if he attempted to truly harm Kaida or their current guide. Freya, the beautiful Salazzle, worridly looked over her shoulder for the tenth time, more than a little frightened to have her back turned to the brute, who she was certain was trying to step on her tail. She was only necessary. Though it was a fire-type, Kaida worried a Pokemon used to the safe area of the breeder's ranch would take a wrong step and break its leg or, worse, pick a fight with a Pokemon it had no hope of defeating. So, Freya led them on a fairly rocky yet not sloping road. Safe enough. [break][break]

Of course, she wasn't alone for this task and risked a look behind her, holding tight to the reins so her charge wouldn t get any rebellious ideas. "Are you doing well with yours?

Kaida wasn't much sure about how beliefs worked, how whole groups could suddenly decide to believe in something on a whim, but she was aware of the inherent value in respecting something stronger than her. If it were stronger, and she showed the proper respect, then she could hope that she could be assisted, in this life or another. [break][break]

As she put herself on her knees, bobbing her head down, she heard a shriek behind her. Rattata, quickly cut off by snake fangs. Hema must be feeding today, she didn't attack out of malice. The Rattata wasn't strong enough, and had no help. Hurriedly, she lowered her head more. [break][break]

Yes, help would be very much appreciated in this world.

If the shrieking would die down, Kaida was certain that the Pokemon would calm down but, alas, humans were human. Whatever had lead to a giant Sandaconda to enter the city, it was now thoroughly frightened that it couldn't dig and hide, and was now compensating with a raging Sandstorm that followed it around like a sandy hurricane. With such an easily traceable target, who seemed to settle right outside a mall, Kaida took her time. She had brought every serpent she owned in an idea that similar Pokemon might calm the sand snake. Kaida leaned on a wall bordering an alleyway, keeping out of sight of the snake as it whipped its head to and fro at unfamiliar scents and sights, the screaming no doubt ringing in its ears. The calm before the storm no doubt would end eventually, where was her supposed partner!?
