Which is why he finds himself in here with the rest of the curious Rockets.

“Sorry babe, admin wishes.” He teases Gavin, which he knows he will not get a desirable reaction from. Being the other half of the pair who witnesses it outside the submarine, he reckons it is best to share their gathered information to both teams.

“Remember me?” She somehow hopes he doesn't—otherwise, her efforts changing her looks for the new year will be proven futile. Although with all things considered, the events of Mistletoe Matching isn't something too long in their history. “What does a good looking guy like you do at the festival without a date?”

The voice is trying to be charming, flirty, friendly. All of them blurs at the sound of Valerio's raspy voice pinched to sound more feminine.

Valerio responds, still mounted on the flying charizard as his altaria takes the lead for the first match. Zac, like all the other gym leaders he have met, are overfriendly but surprisingly not irritating. Almost all of them are pleasant to talk with. He has come to realize that maybe the middle echelons of the League are not as accountable as their leaders.

Or at least that's how he likes to see it.

“And I reckon you're gonna know next why I choose both of them.”

He shouts back. With a wink, the redhead begins instructing his bird dragon to move. Zeus's fluffy wings shimmer with the sunlight, its cotton hardens with every passing second as the rocks cascadedown on him. He moves swiftly, his STEEL WINGS breaking the stones on his path, breating air as he prepares for his first attack.

“Blaze it!”

HEAT WAVE blows from the altaria's beak into the steelix's direction, scorching fire folding in the air towards Zac's metal serpentine.

It is best that Valerio arrives at the festival this way.

Everyone's eyes are on the Rockets now after what Declan exposes at the conclusion of the league's press conference. Personally, he thinks it is too early for them to unveil their presence especially when there is still opportunity to take advantage of the growing distrust in the government in light of the past incidents and the recently revealed A.Q.U.A. Initiative. However, he is not the one to question their boss and a colleague's brilliance especially when he knows he is instrumental in bringing the organization to unreachable heights.

That is why as a refurnished "Vanessa Agapov," the drag queen struts the brick path of Oldale as she makes way for the center stage. She is set to perform together with her kingdra: a repeat performance of their previous stunts during Littleroot's contest. As soon as Logan Ferris descends, Vanessa's geta begins to clack against the platform followed by Naua's hopping.

TL;DR: Valerio arrives as the "new Vanessa" where he repeats his Beauty Contest performances.

Drifblims remind Valerio of his tenure in Kanto. Even after the invasion, paper lanterns have been a persistent tradition in the Kantonian soil that tells of dreams, hopes, and prayers of the people in a Rocket-dominated region. He doesn't understand what its purpose is not until his stay in Johto, where the tradition is also observed, but where it is held the most significant. Not until he lights himself one and let it float into the sky.

The redhead walks into the usually quiet town of Oldale, waiting for the festival to start as his eyes wander with the flying drifblims.

How he manages to acquire a partnership with Desmarais is something beyond the redhead already.

“What she's getting too, mate.” Valerio gives a playful wink which Lonnie professionally ignores. The bartender proceeds getting the drinks for his customers.

“To be fair, I haven't seen him much around too. Everyone became too busy especially after the invasion and with what the boss wants us to focus our post-war efforts on.” As soon as the drinks hit their side of the counter, he immediately grabs his glass and urge the other to pick hers too.

“Enough of babe talk,” He fondly calls of kris flynn-edwards, just like how he refers to the rest of Rocket's male population that suits his taste. “We haven't formally introduced ourselves right? Cheers for our wonderful battle and acquintanceship?”

Hoon lets out a powerful THUNDER PUNCH, sending the creature to the ground as Valerio hurls it with a spare pokeball.

It will be his last catch for the day.
