Billi knew what he needed to do, but he was worried about everything. After all, just moving again when he just got a stable home...meant he’d waste some of his life away even if he didn’t mean to waste his time. To be honest… it just was a lot to think about, and being a gym leader was an honor that was for sure. There were so many people that could use the confidence, and petalburg needed some kind of symbol of a modern day person.[break][break]

“Yeah...I’m thinking I want to...it’s just a big responsibility you know….I’m kinda anxious about what the townies would think of me….I’m not even from Hoenn for arceus’s sake” he expressed his concern but sighed it away conscribing it to a thought. “But...I think it’d be fun...I can teach people what I learn too!”

It was comforting knowing he was helping out in some way. After all it wasn’t like he was trying to push a pokemon off the cliff, but there was that thought of...splat...but he couldn’t keep those thoughts wandering inside of his brain. No. Billi had to have the confidence in his strength because otherwise this poor girl is going down, and he’d have to hope he could save her before that would happen.[break][break]

To be real, Billi could have gotten closer to the flying pokemon on his own using his pokemon but he feared it’d start a battle with an already agitated pokemon. “Oh there was a big one a while back,” he commented as the loud screech of a mother bird echoed with increasing volume.

Oscar didn’t seem to be weary of Billi advances, not that he was making any bold ones! It wasn’t like they were doing anything nasty or secretive. He was truly just wanting to hold Oscar's hand, and it was even better that he cared enough to think of a place he could eat, even though he would have just got over it and ordered it without. But Oscar thought of it so he didn’t have to, and he resisted squeezing the man in a hug.[break][break]

Oscar opened the door for him, and Billi paused, looking at the man with a bright smile as he passed him. “Thank you,” the blonde nodded, but his pinky snagged Oscar’s spare hand as he passed pulling him along with him. don’t stay behind,” Billi playfully winked as he softly pulled him closer to his body, walking up to the counter, “we have reservations,” He commented brightly, “rigght Oscar?” Billi asked keeping the man close to him as possible. It was clear he was really excited.

Maybe it wasn’t the best place for Billi to do this but he really didn’t care too much. Considering how much the shrooms were kicking in and kicking his butt, he really couldn’t devise another plan at the moment, and when apples were delivered to him he stared up, confused for a moment, but smiled. “Ohh?” he tilted his head awkwardly, grabbing them and eating one. “okay!” thou the shrooms seemed to be playing their part and making everything more difficult.[break][break]

The conference was over….well the official one, but now it was time for Vantage to go over it in person. Some of the league officials thought it was strange that he closed his gym for the day, but for Billi his job was a reporter first, a gym leader second, designer third, and drag queen forth. Though….what he feared the most was the realization that team rocket was still kicking around like earwigs in the dark underside of a rock. Needless to say when Selena called the meeting he arrived quickly, and without as much as a text needing him to appear.[break][break]

He figured this would happen, considering the announcement of the A.Q.U.A initiative, which was very concerned for him. Selena had briefed him on the loss of the gym, but through their private conversations, Billi was working on getting their towers and information flowing from petalburg. Even worse, he could feel this deep twist in his gut, that he neglected training many of his softer bugs for battle. Sure they could hold their own, but if it came down to it, they’d mostly be better at recon and recovery, first responders mostly.[break][break]

Unfortunately for Billi he wasn’t an Avatar nor did he believe he had the power to fend off the rumors he was hearing about Team Rocket, let alone the past battle from the ultra beasts with his current battle experience. The only pokemon he had that were battle ready was the brood and revali, whom was injured and mentally damaged from it much as Billi was. So he figured training some newer pokemon who would be part of his “guard” would serve best if Petalburg was ever under attack.[break][break]

As bad as that sounded, he had to prepare for the worst, with the league hunting down and what sounded like “enslavement” of avatars. Which seemed very…..apprehensive. It was reiterated as Selena mentioned in her speech. Billi sat, just to her left, petting the shiny froakie that sat on the table. “it seems…..like they are enslaving the avatars,” Billi pipped up. “Which...in turn worries me because the pokemon chose the avatar, so in a way, I worry if the human goes against them, something terrible could happen.”[break][break]

The worst was that they killed the “host” which was bad. “at the same time….will they be searching to create more. I find it off putting that they didn’t reveal all the information, even to some of us, the gym leaders. I know we’re not military or rangers, but the lilycove rangers, well their partners, don’t seem to mention anything, so it’s left to certain individuals.” he cross his arms. “The league is putting all their eggs into one basket, hoping that all avatars and legendary pokemon will cooperate. Even MORE with the presence of team rocket...it seems pointless to involve the legendary pokemon,” Billi turned to Selena as Razzberry possessed the TV.[break][break]

“If we look at the images from the war….” he played back the video that corviknight recorded turning the kyoger incident. “it is likely this could happen if we anger a legendary…...even more so it appears….that the light came from an object, but Revali got too involved in avoiding getting shot down.” the screen then switched to a different video. “There’s many other questions that are left unanswered,” the images swapped to the technology found in the base of the megolaptians. “what has the league done with the technology obtained here? Better yet what about rocket if it’s safe to assume they were involved in the war.”[break][break]

The blonde played with the frock who was quickly jumping on the table. “Even more….there is a missing pokemon...on the loose that has potential to take out some of these….pokemon with ease...i feel they may be more useful. But even so, the league isn’t creating actual defenses and systems against rocket, rather they are using the power of the few to protect the many.”

Billi didn’t mean to feed the bird something that was bad for it! Honestly he figured it was the best way to lure the injured bird pokemon. Then again he wasn’t known for his knowledge of over one thousand pokemon’s eating habits. Rather he just spread love like butter on toast and sometimes on both sides of the toast. “Oh I was just trying to bring it closer,” he commented to the women.[break][break]
Of course he worried about lifting the girl over the edge considering one of his hands weren’t overly reliable, but if she desired that, and she was the professional then he’d follow her. “Okay, well! Hold on okay!” Billi commented and moved to lift her up, holding her by her legs just to make sure he had a firm grip on the dangly legs. “just be careful, one of my arms aren’t the best,”

The blonde stared at the blade, and his eyes lit up! Of course it wasn’t the first time he’d seen such a ghost type, his gym challenge was actually beat by one recently! Though he could see in it’s single eye that it’s been haunting him for a little bit, “Oh he looks strong! Chonk!” Billi laughed and looked up calling one of his spiders. “Alright if your ready” billi grinned as the spider moved to lift him up some, “Let’s go buddy,” the spider jumped upwards.

It was so flattering when Oscar mentioned his outfit looked nice. Even though he was kinda fishing for a compliment, it still felt reaffirming considering the one person who’s opinion mattered to him the most thought he looked amazing. So that was nice, and it showed on his bright face, with soft redness to his face. “Yeah I just use the ones my volcarona sheds,” he was even more impressed that Oscar could recognize what the materials were.[break][break]

Oscar himself appeared very put together, very ready for a night out on a nice outting. Billi would even say it was date attire, which to be honest was much more fancy than what Oscar wore normally every time they met. Thou Billi loved how Oscar normally looked, because it was effortless, and he could wear anything which was also enviable. “did you want me to make you one too?” Billi asked stepping forward as the man held out his hand forward, though Billi being the himbo he was holding his hand with a smile.[break][break]

The large hand quickly tangled around the lanky fingers, giving a comforting squeeze. “oh? I haven’t been there yet! I’m still learning all about the city,” he grinned, “Oh you don’t eat meat?” he asked as they walked and it was clear Billi was excited. Naturally Billi’s pokemon kinda roamed the city if they felt they needed resources like trash to make into a nest. But the cutifly of Billi’s followed tastefully behind watching. “I’m excited for it! It’s my first festival! Back home we don’t have such pretty festivals.” [break][break]

Billi tugged the smaller man closer so they could be warm in the cool air. “you planned all this right?” Billi asked and the hand closer, “thank you!” he smiled gratefully, “I’ve been….excited for it!”

Of course all pokemon could be shiny, but he wasn’t out purposely looking for those pokemon! Well if he came across one he certainly wouldn’t say no to capturing one! But still! The point was to capture pokemon of variety. “Well yes, but some pokemon come naturally in different colors. Like Minior! Or Vivillon! Alcreamie too!” he mused trying to get the other to understand. At least….until he caught sight of a deep blue vivillon, which he lured with honey, feeding it. “Vivillon are so easy to make friends with,” he rubbed their head, “They like sweet flowers! And honey!” Keeping the pokemon for himself.

Not that many people knew what a Poipole anatomy was, but maybe she’d be the one to go to if there was something wrong with the pokemon? Billi figured there wouldn’t be any problem right? Perhaps it was better that only one other person knew he had one? But then again, he really didn’t hide the fact that he had one. And actually wanted to demystify the fear behind the purple pokemon, nonetheless, the purple pokemon reached out to touch the hand.[break][break]

“To be honest i think it’s a poison type! But like I dunno! I was really left to figure it out on my own!” Billi smiled and shrugged. “Well that and it kinda like makes stuff from the pointy parts on it’d head. Luckily most of the time it’s just sticky so i repurpose it as glue, but I dunno if it’s dangerous, but I haven’t gotten sick yet.”
