THE BORDER IS A MOUNTAINOUS PURGATORY OF MUTED SEPIA SMOKE. By floating islands, translucent bridges soar through the realm toward the heavens. Tall stone spires jut out from the spiritual mist. In the sky, the wisps of spirits can be seen heading toward their final destination before the afterlife...[break][break]

Curiously, there are four broken seals embedded in four mountains. Though Adrian Malcolm and YVELTAL may have seen their location upon their unceremonious entry, the spirit realm has shifted since their last visit, rendering each broken seal far apart from each other.

Adrian couldn't be sure how long it'd been—only that it had felt much too long—and yet he could not find it within him to so much as doze off while taking refuge in these borderlands. Haunted by the perturbing atmosphere, he should not be surprised. Rolling over onto his side and propping himself up, he sits upright and casts a look beyond the fire pit he's made for himself. It smolders as embers scatter with the breeze, its light dwindling with the passage of time.[break][break]

Where does it end? Concealed in ephemereal mist, the surreal landscape mesmerizes and confounds. Mundane contraptions such as compasses do not avail him here, and so he relies heavily upon Yveltal's guidance—but even this is flawed, else he would have discovered what they were searching for...[break][break]

I can't stay here much longer... Food and provisions couldn't be foraged here, or at least none so far as he could trust, and so he went on fasting. His limbs feel heavier, and his stomach gnaws at the emptiness therein.

Part of her really hates being in these parts of the waking world, even more so considering the way that the moon hangs ominously over their heads but every other fibre of her being insists that this is a necessary experience. After a few expeditions during the day with nothing of note found, she figures that she should try her luck at night - Whether to find a remnant of Ruby Walker's soul for answers, or to be absolutely sure that Azelf's soul isn't floating around these parts, a hypothesis has to be tested in order to come to solid conclusions.[break][break]

After the hell that was the Rift of the Undersea Cave, with the constant battles, the losses hes taken, not to forget the beatings he himself took Razz was worn out. It was why he was told to just focus on the Paperwork side of things, assign missions and maybe try to teach some rangers a thing or two. Take it easy and rest the medics had told him and yet here he was with Eris. Accompanying her because she asked and despite the tug he felt down to his very soul when the entered this place Razz was able to keep it together well enough. [break][break]

For now at least, the strain here no different than what he experience that day.[break][break]

Least with Salem hanging on his shoulder the cat was helping him keep focus on the task at hand. His focus only wavering as Eris looks back to him and ask how he is. "Could be better if I'm being honest," because he had to be now with the damn dragon cursing him. "But I'm surviving fine and I should hopefully be safe from that?"[break][break]

As Adrian manages to make himself ready to continue exploring, he casts a weary glance from out over the misty veil of the mountains, watching as spritely entities flowed along their final procession. He would've liked to see beneath, to the valley below where he would be disembarking, but not even his eyes could penetrate the greater fog enshrouding the borderlands.[break][break]

Descending on wings of black-on-crimson, Yveltal and Adrian make good on time, finding themselves at the foot of the mountain he had made camp the previous night. The creature does not tarry long on the ground, slinking back into the brume where it would watch over him—rather than clamber about on the ground inelegantly. Perhaps there it could commune with passing spirits...[break][break]

Making his way on foot, it would be inevitable that at a certain juncture, Adrian would come across the other denizens of the borderlands. Only, he wouldn't have expected the ones walking on pairs of legs, speaking in a recognizable tongue.[break][break]

He's not sure a greeting would get him anywhere with his recent fall from grace.

Or well, she can't shake that feeling as she stands here; The whispers at the back of her mind grows just that bit louder when the night remains quiet. "Eris it's Hoenn, there is always something bad happening," Razz counters her more as a point than to criticize her though. Not really noting the guilt that was across her face for asking him to come with. "But this stuff has to do with Mesprit right?" he questions to be sure this was the reason she was here seeing if this was why they had come. [break][break]

Its Salem who catches the presense of another here, ears going back forth and to the side as if searching for a location on where he sensed it. Especially as Eris calls out as Razz puts an arm on her shoulder to have her go behind him as a such in case. Hopefully whatever it was was human, though it was too bad they were caught now when they were so close to the shrine.

It is Adrian who steps out from within that dark threshold, materializing first as a silhouette, and then the dimly lit features of the marked man now known across Hoenn. His forward pace falters, though he seems relaxed, perhaps owed to a shared affiliation; he and Eris both have strong ties to the criminal organization Team Rocket. Adrian is curious, then, where Razz has drawn the line for himself...[break][break]

"Out for a leisurely stroll, are we?" Derision comes naturally, and though he has pressing matters to see to, Adrian decides to make their little jaunt his business. After all, fate had seen these three brought together before, and at no less an auspicious juncture; surely it was a reasonable ploy, then, to see what may come of their present meeting? There remained only one way to be certain.[break][break]

"You must be more careful who you surround yourself with, Kingsman. Others may begin to suspect you of... something," he quips, drawing attention to the aforementioned political lines.[break][break]

There was another child, Adrian recollects, that does not seem to be present. Though his name escapes Adrian, the memory of him remains forever ingrained in his mind, and so he doesn't fail to mention it.[break][break]

"Is that other child accompanying you still?"

The hand on her shoulder elicits a jolt, almost instantly triggering that instinct to hit and run for her life. Yet it's suppressed by a quick snap of Reiner's tail around her arm, a light growl rumbling from his throat as he follows Razz's lead and pulls her back.[break][break]

"A-" The name nearly slips off her tongue, her eyes widening as the figure comes into view. At least, until he posits a rather bold taunt.[break][break]

"Between a ranger trying to make sure I don't do anything stupid and a guy who's wandering around the Borders in the dark on his own... Yeah, I think you're the more suspicious one here." Her nose wrinkles as if she's actually given this serious consideration, her distaste for the other man's choice of words clear. "And what do you care about who accompanies who?"

The ranger keeps Infront of Eris as Adrian makes his presence fully known. The new Rocket throwing in his face the company he seemed to keep around in terms of Eris and him. "Believe me when I say I've been around worse," Razz admits to, "Though I don't see why warn me considering the new crowd you seemed to want to back they're-"[break][Break]

Some of the voices around continue in an accusatory manner. Razz unable to say anything as shadows seem to come, figures unrecognizable as voices overlap with the wind. "What... What is..." he can't help but question but worries for the answer.

Adrian's brows raise in a furl, wondering if he's been misunderstood. It didn't ultimately matter to him what became of Razz, but as someone recently ousted and condemned by the public, he knew it wasn't preferrable. And for what Razz had done for him, Adrian might've felt he was owed that much: A fair warning.[break][break]

"Just giving some friendly advice—wouldn't want our friend ruining his good name." Without being privy to his background, Adrian had only ever imagined him as some model citizen and ranger. It would be a shame to have all that tarnished by surrounding himself with seditionists and insurrectionists.[break][break]

Restless in these benighted lands, he does not remain still, shifting his feet and constantly glancing to the surrounding environment. When the wind shifts, he finds his hairs standing on end, though he does not recognize any voices present.[break][break]

Even still their sinister calls offer insight. What was otherwise jumbled nonsense proved to be quite telling, he slowly realizes, though he was all too engrossed in the threatening presence to give it much thought just then.[break][break]

At the very least however, his hunch seemed to have paid off. Clearly they had provoked a reaction from the borderlands, and although he was generally ignored by the lingering spirits, he remained ever ill at ease.[break][break]

"Sounds like someone's got a grudge—anyone care to explain...?"

She doesn't understand what has transpired between the two, nor does she care to pry into things that aren't hers to find out, but when she's faced with the reality that she's not quite the good kid she wishes to be...[break][break]

Words cut through the maelstrom of thoughts, anchoring her to the situation at hand. Quick to quip back but equally quick to falter; Razz's words are swallowed in the presence of something beyond them. Whispers. Voices.[break][break]

Having once seen him with the apparition of death, Eris knows that he probably has an affinity for those who have passed. And without the slightest ability to understand what they murmur, she's left floundering for answers.

The younger man just blinks at him in some confusion as he says this. Guess they were thankful from regirock's ruins but that didn't stop from more spirits coming still blaming him for their deaths. Eris thinks it to be some sort of trick while Adrian wants an explanation. But it's as one of the spirits goes from a blurry to taking shape of someone familiar does Razz get it.[break][break]

These were the people from back then, their hate radiating with his presence in their home. And while in any other time Razz would probably think up some excuse to avoid coming clean to another there is a little voice in the back of his mind that nudges.[break][break]

Lying will get you nowhere...[break][break]

"While I appreciate your words before my name is far from good," he slowly admits some of the voices quiet down. "I have red on my hands as I used to be one of you years back, made to take the life's of people like him," Razz gestures to one of the spirits that made their bodies more apparent. [Break][break]

Adrian is taken aback at their honesty, and though each of them has counted the other trickster or liar, he is not able to see how this plays to their advantage. Apparitions appearing to flock to Razz would be driven by some unsatisfied hatred, believably so. And what's more, it made sense for someone like that... to remain sympathetic to someone like him, and to Rowan Wrynn.[break][break]

"...I don't think anyone wants anything like that for themselves." People find themselves in bad situations, resorting to desperate measures... It was a tale as old as time. But they did not choose to land themselves in such dire straits. And yet, no amount of pity he held for himself would change his fate, and so he chose not to lament overly on circumstances: At present, there was work to be done.[break][break]

"We should try to banish the spirit, like before." Only he couldn't rely on any preternatural gifts to avail him here and now, though he was loathe to reveal as much. As with all of them, he chose to keep his secrets, rather than see what came of alerting the world to his most recent falling out.
