LATE SEPTEMBER — as ultra wormholes are sighted in the seas of hoenn, the region begins to be tainted by poisons, the source of which is unknown. parts of hoenn's seas darken with toxic waste, like oil spills. for this reason, head scientist, lucas lane, has entrusted volunteers with a special antidote formula that he has helped create with elite four, thomas benoit's sludge sample.[break][break][break]

foongus seemingly begin to sprout along the route. although they are not as dangerous as their evolved counterparts, they still pose a threat, for they seem to have been coated in some poison. make like mario and flatten them with your attacks so that they can be fainted for relocation.[break][break][break]

By now the whole poisonous sludge thing was getting old, but the League had finally started to put a cap on things. Or so he liked to believe. As the situation boiled over, it seemed as though the tainted pokemon were becoming less and less threatening... Or at least, these Foongus didn't scare him so much as the poison itself did.

Seeing as they were largely gathered in the shade of the trees, Adrian had an idea. A terrible one, perhaps, but it was better than coming into contact with the toxin directly. All that was left was to see how it played out; a pokeball flashed at his side, unleashing his Gyarados. "Hey, Furor. Bounce over those trees, and try to land on those Foongus." Foongi? Adrian shook his head at his incessant mental prattling; Does it really matter?

Furor flopped into the air before crashing down on the trees, bringing entire branches and swathes of leaves crashing underneath its girth before slamming onto the pokemon. Improvised but practical, or so he hoped before scuttling off.

Hopefully nothing else was under those trees...

kyle gives his lopunny some boots before it goes off jumping on the top of the poisonous foongus because he cannot waste his antidotes when there's a cheaper alternative. it looks weird on hindsight, but functionality should be observed before aesthetic anyways.

long legs of the lopunny take it up the sky before it steps on the foongus with a jump kick. poison splatters on the lopunny's boots, though none reach the normal-type's skin.

the grass-type flattens against the ground with the attack as the blurb mentions before kyle directs his lopunny to the next one.

although dominic has long since found that he and his own pokemon cannot be put to sleep, the spores of the foongus and their evolution can be troublesome for others. dominic watches with some degree of surprise as his typically austere blaziken launches itself in HIGH JUMP KICK after HIGH JUMP KICK at the fungus pokemon. the pokemon's ankles and wrists spark with fire as it strikes its limbs out in its assault, beak clamped shut in concentration as it sends the foongus hurtling through the air. at some point, dominic begins to realise that the kicks are aimed with careful trajectories in mind, as if the pokemon were shooting for goals between goalpost trees...

As if it were an Olympian vikavolt performed flawless acrobatic maneuvers midair. It careened around and occasionally into the foongus, dislodging and unrooting out the ground.

When met with the progenitors of the infestation Vikavolt latched onto them mid swoop. Jagged teeth puncture the mushroom caps and wrench them upwards as Vikavolt flew skywards.

Sometimes it did pay to be the Flying-type...themed Gym Leader after all.

Alexei had been drawn to the high-flying situation, and was lucky to have a Jumpluff among the armada of Flying-types he had with him.

"Alright, be careful there now."

Sending out the Jumpluff, Alexei then kept an eye on the dual-type as it floated around on the air, providing covering fire with Fairy Wind as needed.

the mushrooms were no match for a flying press from the ever high flying john cena. the hawlucha made quick work of them flattening them to the ground as they sprang back up in a daze. some only wished to be so lucky as the shadow of kazimir came over them before the trainer himself used his own flying press to pin them down. luckily he was wearing a hazmat suit to protect himself from the poison that they were dipped in like candy apples. something about his hawlucha out and about really made him want to wrestle, especially in a pit of poison now that he was thinking about it. actually he probably shouldn't, that's bad m'kay.
