Dressed in hiker's clothing and gear, Remiel made sure to check his pack one last time before they ventured out into the canyon on Lavaridge Town's outer rim. They stood at a dusty bus stop at the entrance to Route 112. The sight of Lavaridge's buildings and the steam rising from its hot springs could be seen far to the west. To its east, the rugged canyon wilderness stretched for as far as their eyes could see.[break][break]

Finished, Remiel slung his pack across his shoulders and stood up. The little Sinistea he called Earl Grey danced in the air just above his shoulder, ready to accompany his master on this expedition for answers. "Are we all set to go?" Remiel asks of his human companion, Raziel Beckett. "Another mystery for us to solve, hm?"[break][break]

This was, of course, in regards to rumors of a cryptid in this area... or possibly even a new species of pokémon.[break]

Razz couldn't but but stare at the other for a bit, curious if the man was either over prepared for this or if he himself was under prepared. He had the usual of course considering his job but thinking about going too much further wasn't something that came his mind, well save for a few antidotes considering the outside world so this was a nice little distraction teaming up with Remiel again for 'solving another mystery.'[break][break]

He didn't need to check the bag that hung off his belt as that was just normal morning ritual but he did take his phone from Salem who had used their travel time to get there to watch silly videos. The psychic cat seemed to whine about taking his shows, "You know how this goes, no phone during missions," he chuckles down to the pouting cat before giving the other a nod and started walking, "Sounds like fun," he comments a bit more chill compared to their first meeting as Razz was now used to the other. "So have any early theories on what this could be?"

"Mm, well... I certainly don't believe it is an actual 'Bigfoot'. That's simply ridiculous." Remiel responded, leading the way for the time being as they began their incline up the red rock canyon. "It is more than likely a Kangaskhan or some other humanoid pokémon suffering from malnutrition or a defect. Though the latter remains as interesting as a nine foot tall hairy human-ape, I must say."[break][break]

Earl Grey tinkles in agreement as he floats ahead, but cuts in front of his master to urge him to stop when he sees a Carkoal barreling down the incline at them at high speed. Using SHADOW BALL, Earl blasts the Carkoal off of the trajectory heading towards them and forces it to crash into the side of the canyon instead. When the shower of coal and dust settles, Remiel produces an empty luxury ball and tosses it. "What would you surmise this mystery to be, Kingsman?"[break]

Razz gives the other's theory a ponder as he walks behind him still curious on what the new mystery could be. Pausing at the site of the tumbling fire rock that was coming at them which reminded him. Right there were fire pokemon on this route lovely. As if sensing his distress Salem, who had been hanging off his shoulder as he was being lazy about walking, reassured him that things would be fine. [break][break]

Though when a loud roar came up from behind them, it didn't seem too fine as the Dragon pokemon didn't seem to interested in the humans who have crossed her. Or maybe it was because she was a fighting type that she was just looking for a fight. As it dashed forward with a DRAGON CLAW Razz picked out a pokeball, and out of it coming the dark colored Decidueye who countered with LEAF BLADE to first block the attack, and followed up again to slash at the dragon to knock her down. The ghost pokemon smiling down at her as if impressed with his own moves as he spoke down to the dragon. Razz none too sure what he was saying as he hasn't had Link long enough to translate well but must have been something interesting as the Hakamo-o got up and knelt in front of Razz also saying something. [break][break]

"Translation?" he ask Meowstic who just uses PSYCHIC to grab one of his trainer's empty pokeballs to capture the dragon. Ah right so that happened. He'll have to ask for details on what happened later but for now he would allow Link to be amused by his work as he thought about the questioned aimed at him. [break][break]

"Well I know not long after our first meeting I got assigned to help guard some people on the other side of the mountain here while they tried searching for Mega Stones that were rumored to be around," he sets up as he picks up the pokeball to see if it would ding, "Thankfully they didn't find any, but there is still that rumor, who knows maybe a pokemon found one and is able to accessing transforming without a trainer," he suggest as he was sure there would be pokemon who could figure it out without a trainer. Of course this was all theories based of hearsay.

"'Thankfully'?" Remiel reiterates, turning to the young man. "You were rooting against the discovery of this powerful stones? Why is that?" Just after he'd asked the question, however, his blue-grey eyes caught sight of a Sawk standing at the edge of a cliff nearby. It leered at the pair. Then leaped off the edge, descending with a BRICK BREAK chop that it apparently had planned for Remiel.[break][break]

Unfortunately for it, Remiel had been trained in martial arts himself. He moved out of the way with great agility, watching as it missed and landed on both feet with a dull thud. Before it could follow-up with CLOSE COMBAT, Earl Grey snuck up from behind it and GIGA DRAINED the humanoid until it fell upon its knees. At which point, Remiel produced an empty ball and tapped it against the Sawk's forehead.[break][break]

The conversation continued as normal afterwards. "There is most certainly a great debate as to the potential of Mega Stones. We once believed the facilitation of a Mega Evolution could only work through the bond between a trainer, their keystone, and pokémon with their Mega Stone. But recent developments have challenged these facts..." He makes a small noise of thought. "Hm... perhaps what we're looking for is a Mega Primeape, then?"[break]

It wasn't until the question was shot back at him did Razz realize just how bad that must've sounded to the archaeologist. Razz shook his hands in front of him in a defensive matter. "Right sorry I know that sounds bad out loud, but after speaking with these people they were definitely the type who would want to abuse the power if that make sense," he tried to explain realizing that probably wasn't the best explanation and probably made him sound judgy. Though having been in customer service as IT for a bit it was simple to identify with crazy customers with normal, and these people definitely gave off the crazy. Part of him wondered if a rich man like Remeil would even understand if he phrased it in such a way, so for now he would leave it as that. [break][break]

Thankfully his defense was interrupted as a Sawk appeared to try and challenge the other. Distracting him enough where he didn't see the Mankey coming from his his blind spot. Which thankfully Link was on top of as he moved himself between his Trainer and the trashing Mankey. His ghostly body not feeling a thing from the attack as he countered with LEAF BLADE. Before the monkey could get up Link used SPIRIT SHACKLE to keep the Mankey in place with pinning down it's shadow. "Thanks for that Link," the trainer thanks to which Link seems to chuckle and makes a gesture as a 'oh please go on' which made the Ranger roll his eyes slightly in amusement as he grabbed a pokeball to capture the fighting monkey. [break][break]

Razz listened to the other as he explained a bit more about mega stones part of him trying to think of the recent list of mega-evolutions he looked up when he got a keystone of his own recently. "Do Primeape even have a mega?" he couldn't help but question first before the thought of recent events were mentioned. [break][break]

"With the poison pokemon right?"

The dark-haired royal had to wonder whether Razz had run into any of his people. He made a mental note to check the mission logs back at HQ when he got the chance. From the sound of it, any attempts at obtaining Mega Stones during that venture had failed. Regardless of any personal investment in the affair, Remiel nodded in reply. "I'm sure you did the right thing, then. The League is lucky to have you, Mr. Kingsman." And he meant it.[break][break]

After recovering the captured Sawk and clipping the ball to his belt, the prince watched as the lad handled a wild Mankey that had appeared. Before long, however, Earl Grey alerted him to the presence of another challenger: a Lucario. One failed POWER-UP PUNCH and a devastating PHANTOM FORCE later, the bipedal beast was captured in a ball of its own. As Remiel reached down to pick this one up from the ground, Razz continued.[break][break]

"Right thing?" he chuckled lightly as he shook his head, "I really didn't did do much outside protect the bunch from being attack by wild pokemon and stop from from trying to use their Graveler like TNT for digging, sorry I guess I should have explained more it was no big deal," he quickly counters the praise, a habit but he really didn't want to give that he did more. [break][break]

As a Lurcario decides to try and tests her mettle against Remiel some little fire bug decides it has a problem with him as it tries to FLAME CHARGE him. Fear strikes him when he notices the damn bug and he accidently backs up into Link who was about to line up a shot until Razz bumped into him. Salem always being much more hyper aware of his surroundings than what he gave off used PSYCHIC to drive the bug off course first. After using it once more to strike and knock the fire bug off. Perfect for catching but Razz wasn't going to be dealing with that. Especially as Link was seeming to complain to his trainer about bumping him and rustling his feathers how dare! Which made Salem scold the bird in their trainer's defense, "It's no big deal you two so enough of that," he pries the two from each other. [break][break]

"That's fair about the Mega-Primeape over human hybrid, but maybe if I could offer a counter Mega-Lopunny," he offers a different pokemon up for the possible mystery of theirs, a small part of him wanting to show off what he's learned about Mega Pokemon since he last encountered the ambassador. He did have other more down to earth theories too but the idea of a pokemon figuring out how to mega themselves was interesting.

Remiel almost chuckles. "And those both sound like very heroic feats indeed. I would dare say you'll the epitome of a ranger someday." He nods, clipping the ball with his captured Lucario to his belt. He turns just in time to see the Larvesta crawl away, defeated. A beautiful creature indeed. And one with powerful potential at that. He can't help but somewhat judge Razz for refusing to capture it.[break][break]

Rather than say anything, the prince and his possessed teacup are soon preoccupied with keeping a charging Quilava at bay, who had burst out from the surrounding foliage to attempt and strike Earl Grey with a DOUBLE-EDGE. The attack, of course, misses. In fact, the Quilava runs right into a canyon boulder and knocks itself out. The royal tosses an empty ball at it soon thereafter.[break][break]

"Hm... wouldn't you say Mega Lopunny is still a little on the small side, however?" He inquiries. "But the greatest mystery here is how a pokémon would manage to mega evolve on its own in the first place, of course."[break]

"I think you're giving me way too much credit there Calcifet, but thanks for your confidence," he replies still very much unsure how the other could think such a thing unless the man was just trying to be nice. Though based off what he knew of the guy he seemed more of the logical rather try to be a the nice guy type. Besides that Razz would rather just stick to blending in and not being anyone that stood out.[break][break]

As the other was dealing with a Quilava, off some distance away he noticed a group Darumaka running. At first he didn't care to much about it not finding anything too out of the ordinary. So when Remiel spoke he continued the conversation as if not much was going on. "Maybe but considering the rumor is just 'something humanoid' it's clear they didn't get details so it could even be one just standing on something high up thus people thinking its something bigger than what it-" he pauses as one of the Darumaka uses a FLARE BLITZ against the one in front knocking them down into the dirt. For a moment Razz allowed himself to think it might be normal among them, "actually is..." he attempted to continue until the group continued their attack even more. [break][break]

Well shit, that definitely wasn't normal, "Link!" he called before whistling to the ghost pokemon as it was quick to fly into the air before flapping it's wings using OMINOUS WIND to create a purple cyclone to blast a few of them off as Razz ran toward the scene, and found himself kicking one as if they were a heavy soccer ball off the first one. Now up close Razz could see that it's red was much different than that of the others which lead him to assume why this one was being picked on. Salem jumped from his shoulder before using PSYCHIC to grab a few of the normal ones as it threw it at the others. "If you don't want a beat down I suggest you all leave," Razz threatened as beside him Link drew his bow to aim, and Salem actually opened his ears up while his eyes were glowing blue all to give the impression that they would be merciless if they tried attacking again. [break][break]

The group decides to run away after a beat before all three relax, Salem being the first to go to the downed Darumaka's side to see if it were okay as Razz took out a hi-potion from his satchel to spray. "Damn fire pokemon," he grumbles under his breath trying to keep low incase the other had followed as letting other people know his distaste of the type wasn't something he liked getting out. Though as he was spraying the odd colored zen pokemon he did notice his own hands becoming red. Was this just red dust? he couldn't help but wonder tensing up some as the healed up Darumaka begun hugging his leg and seeming to try and thank him.
