SOMETHING PINGED IN THE WALL! As your attacks break apart the tile of stone, several treasures are exposed for everyone to take. Beyond the wall, you can hear the cries of cave-dwelling Pokemon... at least, you believe them to be so.[break][break][break]

AN ODD, INTACT ARTIFACT reveals itself. Upon further inspection, it seems as if the shards you have excavated are of the same material. This rectangular slab is pulled from the rubble of the cave-in. After being dusted off, one can feel engravings on its back. It reads:[break][break][break]

"...before the universe came."

Furthermore, as the party attempts to clear the cave-in, they discover a large tunnel. It's narrow and gazing down its pitch black corridor is almost nauseating, for vertigo seems to strike even when everything is dark. An odd howling of sound can be heard deep within. Perhaps, this will be another route for you to take once you've cleared the cave-in enough to move.[break][break][break]

Stormy glances back at the group, puzzled, before switching her Pokemon out for a Heatmor. The Pokemon sucker punches the wall next to her, targeting something particularly shiny and sparkly.

"before the wha--? who gives a damn about the universe right now." he would look into the dark abyss, "did anyone else just hear that?" the constant cry of a pokemon had been nonstop. "something's going on in here, i can't be the only one hearing that."

When Caliburn is sent out of its Pokeball to replace Katherine's previous pokemon, it's evident that something is wrong with it. It's not just its colors, for it wasn't just a normal, shiny Aegislash - it was one who'd gone under forced change in a lab.

Where one expects to see a singular blade, they'd be able to spot two.

It is unique. Magnificent in its own right. A perfect abomination.

The dark tunnel captivates the woman and steals her attention for a couple of long moments, but the attacks of her teammates force her to focus on the challenge ahead. They can decide if they want to pursue that cavern afterward.

“Religion,” She states dryly, responding to Stormy. “It’s always about religion with these cryptic messages.”

Her hand gestures for the corrupted Aegislash to slice and dice, and it does so, following Katherine’s instruction with a swift NIGHT SLASH.

Fernando swaps his Pokemon and falls in line with Mateo’s request. They refrain from attacking in order to silence the tunnel. A wild howl slip between the open chasm they’ve created and Fernando clutches his Pokeballs. In the darkness, one so pervasive that he can’t even recognize the malfunctions of Katherine’s Aegislash, there’s no telling what machinations may come forth.

“He’s right. Prepare yourselves.”

Caliburn remains on the field, Katherine not even considering using her Pokeball in order to recall it.

Instead, the royal-sword pokemon floats closer to her - protective of its queen. The deeper they ventured, the stranger things seemed to be. One could only guess what other obstacles await them on the next floor.

Knowing the gym leader’s luck, though, it’d be nothing good.

”AERIAL ACE, Caliburn. Quickly.”

Both swords are swift to slash at the wall once more, allowing themselves to showcase more of their prowess. Permission has been granted, after all.

Afterwards, the woman casts her gaze towards the hole that reveals itself; and the noticeable feeling that it gave off. If she didn’t know any better, she’d have assumed that the lack of light was the cause for this strange sensation of vertigo. Regardless of what may have been the source of it, she's willing to take the risk in her signature, Katherine Fairburne style.

“Shall we?” Although a question is voiced and she does spare a glance at the rest of her squad, Katherine is quick to leap (?) into the hole first. She either knows that they’ll follow, or she’s dumb enough to venture there by herself.

The vertigo be damned. She'd been through worse - and she will not succumb to it.

She finds it in the fiery wings that spread from her back, flexing to catch her should she fall. They illuminate the path and bring her and those around her a sense of warmth. One hand is pressed to her head, as if praying that by sheer force of will she might be able to stop that horrible vertigo threatening to drop her.

"Mr. Silph? I don't feel so good..."

Their strange arrival in this world seemed to have caused matter to change and gravity to shift, turning both against themselves. For the others, this may feel foreign and impossible but for Katherine?

Undeniably familiar.

It may have only happened once, but the sights she’d seen inside the ultra wormhole haven’t escaped her mind. They haunted her relentlessly, prodding at the unexplained feeling of resentment she felt towards her pokemon for pulling her away from him.

One thing was certain: it would not happen again.

When Katherine finally looks up, or down, depending on how you look at it, she finds Fernando standing perfectly where the skies were meant to be.

“I-”

“I am coming up!”

Caliburn is recalled and replaced with Jellicent, who’s quick to float by the gym leader’s side. The ghost-type is instructed with a gesture to take them up one of the many waterfalls, utilizing the same water-type in order to travel up a pillar of water, bringing Katherine along.

"I don't know if this needs to be said, but," She pauses, exchanging looks with both Stormy and Mateo both. "We should be careful here."

This meant a lot, coming from her.

[attr="class","spiral"]If this was the 'safe' option then maybe they should have opted for the Magma Chamber. Whatever this is exceeds any sort of understanding Fernando can muster. Between the odd flux in timelines not too long ago, the continual assault of odd hijinks has done nothing short of destroying his expectations of what's to come.

Eventually, he lands, and it takes him longer than it should to reorient himself. Reaching for a different Pokeball almost proves impossible but he takes the task slowly, jerking his hand in different directions until it finally obeys. The Tentacruel that comes out keeps him safe under WRAPS, utilizing its WATERFALL to transverse the odd cliffsides at gravity's whim.

"What makes you say that?"

It's obvious enough given the circumstances but for Katherine to audibly admit the obvious seems out of place. There's still he doesn't know about her but from what he's gathered, it doesn't suit her. But then again, he's one to claim to understand people.

His eyes look for Mateo firstly and then settle on Stormy.

"You two okay?"

[attr="class","spiral"]That same, familiar, gut-wrenching feeling of her insides being sucked out of her throat before being replaced comes back to her in full force. It nearly makes her vomit, especially when the world turns upside down and she's standing facing... nothing. Islands drift past her, as do her companions that have all landed in different areas.

She holds her head, trying to focus and gather her thoughts while everyone else first figures out what the fuck they were supposed to do next.

Waterfalls crash overhead, beside, and beneath her. She opts for the one that takes her up and to Fernando, who is presently asking both her and Mateo if they're okay. Stormy is looking for Mateo, a sense of urgency encouraging her actions. This wasn't the wormhole she'd crawled into to look for him, and the world wasn't on fire because they were destroying a thousand paper cranes. But even still, it made her stomach clench in a sense of panic.

"Mateo?"

There isn't a follow up to her questioning tone other than perhaps a nod. The woman reaches for her Vaporeon's pokeball, hooking onto the Pokemon with one arm as they scale the waterfall to reunite with the crew.
