What appears to be a chunk of magma has fallen out of the sky as a result of everyone's combined waterfall climbing. Stormy instinctively reaches to grab it, rolling it in the palm of her hand, unbothered by the heat.

She shrugs, but exchanges Vaporeon for her trusted sword and shield. The Pokemon slowly shifts into consciousness, performing a shadow sneak at both whatever strange noises may come out of the dark to attack them - because they certainly aren't human, whatever the noises are - and to continue chipping away at their mining.

They.. were still mining, right?

Her words are cut by shrill, wretched screams that pierce through her bones and strike Katherine true at her core. She pauses, unable to move for what feels like forever. This may have been a familiar place, but these sounds weren’t. Who else was hiding in here?

Or rather, what else?

Jellicent is replaced with a Golett who’s quick to shroud its fists with an ethereal, dark aura that bursts out with each of its punches. It follows the lead of Stormy Silph’s Aegislash, striking at whatever it may find.

"I never thought I'd say this, but," Kat draws a breath if only to remind herself that she's alive and well, "This is kinda spooky."

Staying here, in the unknown, unprepared, is an avenue for disaster that he’s not ready for. Just the mere mention of Katherine’s comprehension of where they might be is enough to rattle his nerves.

“You mean—?”

The HEATED STONE goes amiss as Fernando fondles a different Pokeball off his belt. This time he opts for the ghost type Gengar, hoping that its ethereal body will find it easier to navigate in this distorted world. The Pokemon comes forth and when beckoned, chips away at their last barrier with a well placed SHADOW PUNCH.

“We should find a way out ASAP.”

Everyone else seems well adjusted so Fernando looks after Mateo, still able to smell the leftovers of his recent upturned meal.

Katherine’s answer is dry and short, the gym-leader clearly not inclined to offer more details than necessary. He knew what she was referring to, and if her assumption was correct, staying here with unwanted visitors would prove to be a mistake. It did so the previous time, after all.

Golett is recalled and then replaced by a shy Ribombee who buzzes around Katherine endlessly, wings fluttering at a rapid pace. It seemed just as startled as everyone else.

“Don’t worry. Calm down,” Her hand lifts, offered to the bug-type to perch on. ”Use POLLEN PUFF. Just ensure that we aren’t harmed, alright?”

And it follows the woman’s command dutifully, eager to escape back into the confines of its Pokeball.

More eerie noises and inhumane screaming can be heard. It gives her goosebumps, and she watches as her Aegislash takes shield-form in front of her.

But rather than use his abilities again, the woman reaches for another pokeball. It seems that whatever is coming, or whatever they're targeting is weak to bug-type attacks. The Volcarona who appears assists the Ribombee's pollen puff with its own bug buzz. The steady rhythm of its attack makes the ground shake.

"This place gives me the creeps."

Make haste not small talk. Fernando has his Cutiefly join in as well. The subtle SILVER WIND that emits from its constant buzzing pairs well with his ghost type. Together, they work their way into chiseling past the last obstacle in their way. The lack of utter destruction should hide their intrusion in this foreign lands but none of them truly understand their predicament.

Well, maybe one person.

At least he knows she wasn't lying. Not in regards to this.

DESPITE THE RUSHED RETREAT, the denizen of this twisted world careens toward you. This is not the same creature Katherine witnessed on the Mauville Warfront. Serpentine and wretched in shape, the Pokemon shrieks, causing the waterfalls around it to flow in reverse. Alien trees burst from floating islands, reaching incredibly high or stretching east or west, depending on which nauseating direction the landmasses face.[break][break][break]

It is clear that escape is not possible without some sort of fight, for the Giratina disappears (SHADOW FORCE), only to reappear immediately before you for a ghostly attack.[break][break][break]

It is different.

Is it marvelous, grand, legendary - perfection. Katherine won’t blow this chance again. She won’t allow anyone to upset it, she won’t disturb its rest. She only wants to understand. To see from its perspective, to feel and understand its wrath - to know why it’d been imprisoned in this land.

The myths spoke of one thing, the tales of the old spoke of another - but Giratina itself could answer all.

“G-Giratina,” She is barely capable of uttering its name, of speaking directly to it. Nothing - no one - was its equal. She revered and admired the lord of this world. She was zealous to a fault, and unfortunately, it meant that the group she’d come with were only seen as a nuisance.

Fuck Rocket and fuck the League.

No Lucas Lane and no FERNANDO SILPH will stand in her way this time.

Cutiefly’s wings continue to flutter, escaping to hide behind its clearly-out-of-her-mind trainer. “My lord,” Her tone gathers some of that renowned confidence she was famed for. ”Giratina, we are not here to disturb your rest.”

And then, a SHADOW FORCE exerts its aura as Giratina disappears right before Katherine’s eyes - just as the last time.

“NO! No, no, no! Don’t leave! It’s not time— I have so many things I want to ask!”

Ironically enough, her wish is granted then and there. She is deemed worthy for an answer, but perhaps not the one she’d been expecting. Giratina emerges once more with the sole intent of attacking them, prompting Katherine to seek a Pokeball and release one of her more peculiar pokemon.

Blacephalon accepts the distortion world as its stage, adjusting to the laws of this world to the best of its ability.

“If I must earn it - if I must prove it to you - then so be it.”

Her lord needed no faint hearts for its ambassadors. Katherine Fairburne reveled and thrived where danger surrounded her, and if this was a test, she’d prove herself.

The group she’d arrived with is nearly forgotten about.

The jester’s head detaches from its body as it prepares its z-move, JESTER’S DEMISE. And when the head - the bomb - is finally tossed? Blacephalon gives its life for the cause, fainting nigh instantly. The explosion’s impact is tremendous, threatening the posture and balance of all, including Katherine’s own.

“Is this what you desire?”

“Am I worthy yet?”

“Will you finally LISTEN?!”

[attr="class","spiral"]Dread seeps into the tips of her fingertips, turning them to ice despite the fire that burns deep in her chest. She feels the presence of another legendary being stir, feels the discomfort in her bond with Moltres. They are in danger, now more than ever.

And, rather than turn and run, she witnesses Katherine stand and oppose the Darkrai, begging for it to stop, to listen. She shakes her head in disbelief, her hand reaching for a pokeball to help her escape. This wasn't the time to beg, to reason with a being of such incredible power and devastation.

Now was the time to run.

"What are you doing? We need to get out of here!"

Stormy tosses the pokeball forward, watching as the black-scaled Charizard glows a brilliant white. Just as Giratina hesitates, reappearing before them in order to harm, Wadjet is there to block the brunt of the damage. Heat pulses from the necklace Stormy wears, the mega-stone activating on Charizard's form in order to mega-evolve the Pokemon into Charizard-X.

With a great bellow, Wadjet pours the power of a z-move blast burn from her maw, engulfing the Giratina in flame before it could disappear. Combined with the z-move Katherine's Pokemon had delivered, the Giratina recoils with a screech of pain and rage.

"Don't be stupid, just get the hell out of here unless your plan is to die!"

A Probopass comes to play and he latches on for dear life. The Pokemon's two detachments come into play, stabilizing the two of them, proving how essential the Pokemon can be despite its lack of popularity between trainers.

"Find an exit," he demands, hoping the Pokemon's magnetic abilities is able work as some sort of compass.

[attr="class","light"]as monstress beings manifested before them. mateo would turn to look toward the one known as Katherine Fairburne and the pokemon she summoned. that was an unexpected pokemon to find on her. mateo had no idea exactly of the pokemon's origin, but he was there when he first witnessed it. it reminded him of the moment that occurred during the event.

that pokemon was the start of his descent.

covering his mouth he would come to spew a technicolor yawn from the bowels of his stomach. as vomit fell befor ehim and his vision became dazed. he was almost on the verge of a borderline breakdown. holding his head, mateo would attempt to keep himself together.

it wasn't until FERNANDO SILPH's beckon that he pulled himself together. he was stronger than this. he could keep it together for this situation.

"y-yeah," mateo responded.

while FERNANDO SILPH made an attempt to find the exit. they would combat the creature before them, "dragonite, go!" calling forth his ace, he would order the utilization of his ultimate move: devastating drake.
