THE HOENN ADVENTOURS BRING YOUR PARTY to one of Lilycove's nearby islands. Off the coast, where the Megalopolans had drilled, an extensive cave system has been discovered. Entering this cave requires you to grapple down via rope, and once you alight on the damp ground, lights must be turned on. It's cold down here. As you all move deeper into the earth, a dead-end is met. Equipped with your EXPLORER KITS and Pokemon, this obstacle should be easily dealt with. The company has encouraged the most intrepid and capable of trainers to dig deeper with their Pokemon.[break][break][break]

Should you break down the walls, perhaps, you'll find treasures to take home for yourselves. In order to receive a treasure, you must fully reveal it by breaking all the tiles they are contained in; however, you can only break down 3 tiles per floor. So, choose which tiles to break wisely![break][break][break]

If a tile says requests for a type, all moves used must be of that type unless otherwise specified. If a tile asks for a particular power value, you must hit that value exactly (e.g. total 260 - all of your moves added together, must total 260 power).[break][break][break]

For each "floor", you can only break three tiles before advancing to the next floor.

You have access to all pokemon in your pc; however, you can not use Ditto.

The ranger wasn't sure what he felt about this mission. He has been asking for more task to keep himself busy as it wasn't like he had any real hobbies to distract him so this was the next best thing. Apparently there were people wanting another for exploration, and since those who assigned him knew he got recognized for searching the caves after Giratina surely he would have fun! The answer was no, not really. Normally he might have, but after introductions to learn that he was with not one, not two, but THREE Kalosian natives making his anxiety fly to levels he didn't know they could reach. [break][break]

It it wasn't for Salem hanging off his shoulder to make sure he kept calm he wasn't sure what he'd do. Though he would've made sure to try to keep to being silent, not that it was hard as he wasn't much of a people person. Dressed in his uniform with a hat equipped with a light, Razz examined their surroundings taking note of the wall. Considering their close approximately to the water there was a type of attack that could be useful. "Might need to check where you guys are standing," the ranger warns as he brings out Whis. [break][break]

"Make sure to jump as you do this, we don't need one of your shocks," the ranger tells the kitten who blows a raspberry at him as if that was such a boring order. Though he does listen as Razz whistles, the Zeraora jumping up as his paws charge with blue electricity as they used PLASMA FIST on the wall. [break][break]

The Kalosian nobleman had come prepared for the cold of the cave. Garbed in heavy gear, and insulated boots, Thomas was as comfortable as he could be in this situation. Upon hitting the damp ground, Thomas would switch on his headlamp. Though he was far away from where he fought in Mauville, the opportunity to spend more time with his twin sister, as well as his old friend, could not be passed up.

Thomas would give Razz a nod, before he sent out his Zeraora. In turn, he would send out his Joltik, Byte. After Zeraora struck at the rocks, and Selena's Joltik began to pull away at them with an Electroweb, Thomas' Joltik, who was positioned on his wrist, would fire off a Thunderbolt at the grouping of rocks, in order to help get them loose enough for the Electroweb to finish pulling down.

She didn’t know how her brother had roped her into this shit.

At least they were going to be travelling together, in a group, doing something by… excavating? What? Blinking confusedly, she made sure her boots were well up and out of the way before she realized something.

“Guys…?” she began hesitantly, remembering where they were. “Do you all think it’s a good idea using… Electric-type attacks in a water-filled cave?”

She hoped her warning didn’t fall on deaf ears as she unballed her Kirlia, Antoinette. Sighing with intense trepidation and hoping they weren’t going to get electrocuted, she pointed at the spot where everyone else had lasered their attacks on.

“Thunderbolt that for us, will you? Aim it exactly precisely, though! Don’t zap everyone standing in the water!” she added hastily before the Kirlia let loose with a potent bolt of electricity.

After the Thunderbolt revealed a little part of the wall, the glint of the shinies sparkled in her eyes before Andrea turned to her brother.

“Hey. Hey, look,” she hissed, elbowing him in the side. “They look sparkly, but… which way should we go next?”

There were so many options and choices to choose from, however there was something niggling at her about the left side right next to the part of the wall they’d managed to bust open. Even if it felt like a trap…

“Step back,” she remarked, recalling Antoinette and popping out another Pokéball and this time summoning Catherine, her semi-useless Bewear. Once the fluffy sentient bedroom animal appeared, she pointed at the wall.

“Brutal Swing—only, Cath, please don’t wreck the entire place and cause a cave-in? Use Brutal Swing GENTLY!” she emphasized the very last word with as much gesturing as possible.

Confused, but happy to be out, the Bewear waddled over and proceeded to thwack the living daylights out of the left side of the wall with its ‘gentlest’ application of Brutal Swing.

She couldn’t help but wonder about their other companion, though. Sure, she knew Selena from their days back in Kalos (and obviously Tom because duh, siblings) but the red-haired young man, she wondered—why did it feel like she’d seen him somewhere before?

Like a case of déjà vu?

Seeing the tile break Razz made sure to praise the kitten for his work, especially on having enough control to not shock them all. The cat has definitely made large strides since he first got them. At the gym leader's words he gifted his Zeraora a pokeBlock as a treat, "Happy to help, adventures like these are usually pretty interesting," he wasn't going to mention that he mostly took it because they weren't giving him actual missions to help with, but there was still some honesty there. [break][break]

For now he returns the cat to his pokeball as he still didn't want the kitten to accidently produce any discharge by accident. For now watching as Andrea made him quite concerned that she would bring out a pokemon who even she herself seemed worried would cause a cave it. "Be prepared just in case," he whispers to his Meowstic who seems to just wave his paw in a dismissive state as if to say 'have faith.'[break][break]

Though after the hard hit to one of the connecting tiles, which thankfully didn't cause a cave in, the ranger felt they might need something with a little more finesse. With a toss of a ball Razz called out Jade, "Going to need a bite," he points to a specific part of the tile that was hit, "Tack not force," he instructs as the miniature dragon salutes using just that, she may have been small but her jaw was strong.

the thing is, selena can't be bothered by a little ground with tapu koko's blessings bestowed upon her. she's sure in little ways, thomas will have noticed it but she takes the precaution, if not for herself then for the people she's working with.[break][break]

upon hearing Andrea Benoit's words, she feels like letting out a snicker. “that brings a lot of memories.” she retrieves the joltik back to its capsule and returns with arthur. “clear the remaining walls with another brutal swing.”[break][break]

the sword pokemon spins and swings to where the others have worked but the force is not enough for the boulders to give in. with a hiss, selena glances at thomas, waiting for his turn.[break][break]

With the group having gotten through the electric tile, without electrocuting themselves, they could continue on safely. The group had opted for one section of the walls, attempting to attack it with two Brutal Swings, to no avail. Razz's Dreepy attempted to go for a more precise attack. But Thomas would take notice to the fact that the wall was weakened at a certain point, and a precise, strong strike would do the trick.

Recalling Byte, Thomas would instead send in Penumbra the Umbreon. The Umbreon, who's rings immediately let off a glow, thus giving them some extra lighting, looked up to Thomas. "Penumbra, remember that strike we've been working on for a while? Hit that point in the wall with it.", Thomas asked the Umbreon, while pointing to the specific weak spot he saw in the wall.

With a nod, the Umbreon got into a battle stance, before making his charge. A precise tackle, one that was most effective when engaging in Foul Play, struck the weak spot dead on.

IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE, follow the guidelines below:[break][break]

For each "floor", you can only break three tiles before advancing to the next floor.
Everyone must use a move. Please bold used move and include base power of used move.
Used pokemon moves must have a base power + multi-strike moves will only apply their base power once.
Stat-altering moves and abilities will not affect the base power in this event.
You have access to all pokemon in your pc; however, you can not use Ditto.
There is no locking in of pokemon; you can catch pokemon to help you complete the challenge even after the challenge has started!

Salem makes a comment like a 'seeee told you' sort of tone when the part of the wall came crumbling down after their combined efforts. He thanks Jade for her work before returning her to the pokeball as he examines the wall once more. Though as he examined he did keep an ear out on the others and was curious on the whole 'memories' thing. He knew they knew each other though maybe it was much longer than he expected? "So how long have you all known each other?" the ranger can't help but ask as he examines the wall still. [break][break]

His Meowstic seems to notice something first as he starts pointing at it going on with his charades as he pointed to a portion of the wall. Seems good enough though he wasn't sure about the pokemon he would need for this, as the power needed for it only one would work out well. "Alright lets give it a shot, sorry if you don't mind me taking the lead on this one too," he apologizes as he calls out his Empoleon. The emperor pokemon takes a moment to taken in his surroundings before looking none to happy as he notices his trainer. Yeah maybe this was a bad idea as he knows they were still mad at him. His one good eyes turns to Salem as the psychic cat jumps from Razz and to Azulon. [break][break]

The ranger watches as the cat talks and it seems to get through to Azulon enough for him to at least listen to Salem. Opening his peak Azulon to charge a glowing water ball before unleashing a powerful stream with HYDRO CANNON at one of the tougher tiles.

Thomas smirked as the combined teamwork of their Pokemon brought down yet another square. But what got his attention was the objects still embedded in the square above it. Whatever they were, they looked to be rather valuable. But before he could comment on it, it seemed that the group had come to the same idea as he did.

Noticing just how tough the rock looked, especially in comparison to the other parts of the wall they smashed up, it looked like it would take a considerable amount of force to smash. With Razz's Empoleon using a Hydro Cannon, Thomas looked to the rest of the group. He had something, but he'd need to give the others fair warning.

"Everyone, get ready to back up, and clear some space. I'm about to send in a Wailord for this.", Thomas would tell them, clutching a Pokeball.

When the group had given them the space they needed, Thomas sent out the behemoth of a Pokemon. The whale barely fit in the cave walls. "Brizo, aim your Water Spout towards that corner of the wall!", Thomas ordered, pointing her towards the part of the wall, before going for cover. With everyone out of the way, the Wailord opened her maw, and fired off a concentrated Water Spout at the rocks.

“we pretty much grew up together,” it is selena that responds to Raziel Beckett's query, smiling as he retrieves arthur back to his capsule. “but we went separate ways as early as i can remember.”[break][break]

Thomas Benoit follows up with his wailord, pushing her back to the wall as she laughingly releases her blastoise. the turtle squeezes himself into the easeway and attempts to help the wailord knock the wall with the same powerful blast of hydro cannon.[break][break]

“Oi, merde, give me like at least five seconds warning before you summon out that giant-ass whale!”

Of course, this was Andrea yelping as she was very nearly squashed into the wall as her brother had literally thrown out the single biggest Pokémon that proved the cave was a tiny, dank, cramped little space, before finally managing to peel herself off once there was sufficient wiggle room to move around in.

“Honestly,” she grumbled in her brother’s direction, “…sometimes you give no warning at all. Anyway!” she recovered a few moments later as she straightened up and outright chuckled at Selena’s words. “Yeah, we all grew up together. Although we had our motivations for departing Kalos, it wasn’t without due reason.”

Once she was sure she had enough room, she smirked.

“Thanks for the save, brother,” she added as she threw out the borrowed Pokéball she had with her, revealing a Greninja that was most certainly familiar to Thomas.

“Look, he’s here, alright? I’ll just be borrowing your power for a bit. Hydro Cannon that spot over there!” she added, pointing at the soaked rock.

Hoping that she wasn’t going to obliterate the entire section of wall, the Greninja looked over at Thomas, confused for all of 0.5 seconds before nodding and releasing a powerful blast of Hydro Cannon at the already-soaked wall, hoping to dredge away the dirt and reveal what lay underneath.

Ooh… shinies?!
