the obstagoon stands by on his station, watching professional chefs come and go the kitchen. the busy atmosphere prompts the trained obstagoon not to act until he is given the workload.

which happens as soon as the nearest chef finishes its workload.

the head chef barked an order, which the subordinate has no other choice but to follow. even though they opened up the job for this reason, the personnel still were busy with their own workload, leaving them to trust the pokemon to follow what little instruction they can give to them.

a basket full of leafy greens are placed on the counter by the obstagoon's station. the chef promptly shows the desired size of the cut, demonstrating it for the pokemon to copy before leaving him to do another part of the workload.

the obstagoon takes the knife used by the chef and handles it like a person would instead of using pokemon moves like what was expected from them. he starts to work on it quietly and without rush, oblivious to the chaos and stress of the kitchen.

Novak had been coerced into doing this.

God damn it. He was no cook, not at all. Thank fuck they seemed to be allowing Pokemon to assist with the work, especially the cutting of vegetables.

Novak hesitated before releasing Milkweed. Would they frown on his Butterfree as being unsanitary? It was pretty well known that their wings were coated in poisonous dust. Fortunately, nobody seemed to notice, or if they did, they seemed not to mind.

Novak might have been a Rocket, but that didn't mean he wanted to poison an unsuspecting customer. So he said to Milkweed, "Hey, chop these vegetables with Air Slash, but from far away, all right? This is like target practice for you."

The idea of target practice was a familiar one. Milkweed got to work.

Doug truly must have been losing his bloody mind, sending her out on one of these so called 'jobs' after last time.

Standing in the kitchen, shoulder to shoulder with human and pokemon alike, the Scyther somehow couldn't find it upon herself to summon her usual temper, her focus entirely on the meat that was constantly placed before her again and again.

Meat would be laid on the sterile steel table before her, and her scythes would cleave into it, again and again, until they were finely made cuts of meat.

A young assistant would cleanse and polish her scythes between every meat, and the process would repeat itself.

Again and again.

Cut.

Cut.

Cut.

It was hypnotic, mind numbing work.

Unlike Obstagoon, aegislash decided to forgo the use of tools and or other methods of choping food up due to an apparent lack of...hands. Instead he works with another pokemon at the job site, the pokemon who agrees to assist him will basically lob the object that needs to be sliced and aeiglsash will use it's body as the blade and slice and dice whatever is lobbed at it quickly and efficiently with speed.[break][break]

After a satisfying shift, on the table below the hovering aegislash a wide assortment of food was properly prepped and sliced. Aegislash moaned with glee as Bryan had used aegislash a lot for this type of work with food while camping and it finally got a chance to show off it's skills in the kitchen.

On the docket, Stormy had originally ordered one of her Charizard's to handle the job. But they'd emailed her with an URGENT: in the title suggesting- no, pleading her she send them something much, much smaller.[break][break]

And so she sent a Fletchinder instead of a Charizard, and the sigh of relief could be heard across the entire facility. As it turns out, the Fletchinder was not overall exceptional at his job.. but he did it well enough to get by. Sometimes he prematurely sparked a little bit of fire, but that was hard to make him feel bad for.[break][break]

At the end of the day, the paper lanterns were cut to size, mostly, and downright beautiful. The more accurate and artistic Pokemon had been happy to lend a hand in cutting out intricate shapes, and the humans put them all together. It worked out in the end, and the night sky would be painted with beautiful, twinkling paper lanterns.[break][break]

Easy. Money.

After Thorn did so well at the last pokejob, Lex paid close attention to find another she could throw a pokemon at. This time, a chef was calling for pokemon the knew how to “slice and dice”. Her Braviary, Aubie, was a questionable call but basically fit the bill. They were never specific that the pokemon had to be very accurate with their slicing and dicing.

The large raptor cocked his head, looking curiously at the variety of food that needed chopped up for the festival. He looked from his left to his right, studying how the other pokemon fit for this job were going about it. The majority of them had more accurate slicing appendages. All Aubie had was his incredibly sharp and powerful claws.

Aubie shrugged, spreading his wings to rise above his pile of goodies. The bird’s talons flashed in preparation with Hone Claw before he viciously attacked the pile of food with a flurry of Crush Claws, “slicing and dicing” for the chef to the best of his abilities.

Gallade requires no order to know what task it needs to complete. The psychic-type telepathically seeks for an answer before it can be approached, and then takes position somewhere near a counter equipped with a cutting board, and a big batch of vegetables that needed to be chopped finely.

The blades connected to the gladiator pokemon’s arms light up with a bright, pink hue that coats them throughout the process, slowly dicing the vegetables without ever touching the board.

It only launches small PSYCHO CUTS to do the job instead of relying on its physical blades.

One after another…

This time, Zeis the fire-truck red Scizor was out on tour.

And there was a lot of chopping that needed to be done. Hilariously, even with the “clubbed claws” he could still do a good cutting job. Once presented with the mound of vegetables in front of him, he took a deep breath.

Looking over at the Obstagoon with the… wait, it was using a knife? What the hell?!

Shaking his head, he set to work. Focusing on the cabbages in front of him, a well-practiced Night Slash began tearing through the cabbage heads, sliced and diced before being shoved off to one side.
