After a bit of SWAGGER on the predators attacking him he'd managed to escaped into the trees with his fire stick leaving the "Monferno" and the Cutting Bug to fight it out.

If they wanted to keep attacking, they'd have to come after him. As much as he could handle a good fight attacking needlessly was only for the most aggressive and Croagunk's were much cooler heads.

Besides that from what he saw they had another coming in to bout with them.

Having fought off two of them already, trading blows with all three of them was far from Dose's idea of a good time. If they were that hungry for him, he'd make them work for it.

Darting through the Under Canopy layer he could hear the wayward chittering and chattering of birds and other animals and sweet scents he'd never smelled before filled his brain. He was flushed to find his fire stick hard to hold onto before long he was confused on why he had it in the first place. His instinct to attack had been dulled; he just didn't care to fight any more.

He was bruised ⁽⁾ covered in cuts ⁽, ⁾ and leaves ⁽⁾ and feathers? When did that happen? ⁽⁾

Had he been ignoring them this whole time?!

This thing Sénon wanted him to do was really tough.

Dropping the fire stick, rather than seek out the sources of the scents he suddenly went lower to the forest floor rather than to the emergent area above the canopy. Rather than hide proper under the decaying vegetation and in the mossy muddy areas, he jumped in the river for a swim.

Sénon caught notice of Dose again and understanding all the effects the croagunk must have been under, he thought up a means to sell the strange behavior to the crowd. "When the fighting gets tough sometimes the slightest change of locale can open up new possibilities and change the dynamics between attacker and defender!"

But even that was confusing since no one else was swimming. As the debris and feathers washed from his skin he thought the lot of the other pokémon were crazy.

Wasn't this the perfect time for a bath?

He went down to the bottom of the river with his lungs filled with air; quite sure no one would bother him here until the fighting was over. "If there's somewhere you can go that your enemies can't you can turn every disadvantage into a moot point!"

Melody had sat back and waited for a bit to make a distinctive moment and strut her and rilaboom's stuff. So, she waited for that moment patiently and was interested as soon as she heard the judge's words. "Use the biome to our advantage huh...in that case." Melody smirked "Very well then! Rilaboom! Use hyper voice and try to stun them with your sound!" she called out before doing a little spin and strutting her hand into the air "Then use drum beating and grab that chatot before he becomes a problem!" she commanded as rilaboom obeyed his orders. He began to drum a beat which melody moved to and then it got louder and louder to which rilaboom then changed rhythm as the ground began to shake and vines erupted from the ground and flew towards Chatot and tried to bind him and throw him to the floor to which she struck a new pose "Witness the strength of our synergy! All will bow to the king of the jungle!"

While the rest of the contestants take center stage and capture the spotlight, Sabine is distracted by something on her phone. It appears that midway through her opening performance, an important business call had come through. The ringtone is loud and fortunately clipped short thanks to her quick reaction.[break][break]

Unfortunately, this pulls her away from the contest altogether and she ends up gesturing for her Liepard to come back to her. She exits without much display, choosing to handle her business matters rather than stick around for an activity much less important. [break][break]

"They certainly are not, chryssa glasgow! Doesn't seem like they want the badge at all!" Doug said besides the contestants, seemingly popping up from all the way at judges' table without making a sound. He crossed his arms, shaking his head. "Kama will be making the calls for me on this round, and she ain't lookin' too impressed so far!"

Though having a predator in its habitat make judgement calls on the quality of a Biome Battle Royale made some level of sense, choosing Kama of all his pokemon had probably been a mistake.

Speaking of whom...

The frog ran away. Something moving about on the canopy above was making foliage and branches fall. And the frog was back, trying to burn her with the monkey's fire head.

She would wear its head as a trophy.

Kama's scythes came up sharply, snapping a Vacuum Wall that zoomed into the oncoming flames with a booming echo.

The backlash from the sonic boom sent her body hurtling back, the Scyther spinning about in acrobatics to stick the landing, the flames split in half and dissipating into nothing around her, the oxygen in poisonous breath spent.

She would cut their charred corpses to pieces.

Vines sprouted from all over the forest floor around her as a booming beat drowned out the sounds of battle, and a sickly sweet scent filled the air as storms of leaves crashed together into chaos.

Kama growled, her Scythes flashing as she cut surging vine after vine, not knowing she was thwarting Melody Miro's plans in the process.

More importantly however, a fire had sprouted out as well. And nearly touched Chryssa too.

"Get rid o' that bloody fire!" Doug's orders snapped through pandemonium, all fun and games entirely forgotten.

Uncharacteristically firm, the Scyther's spine almost snapped straight at the orders, the pokemon launching into action, dancing wildly through the air as she cleaved through opposition, a heat trail left in her wake as her scythes grew hot with pooled energy.

At the cusp of her arc, the bug snapped her scythes down upon the flames, sending a storm of wind hurtling through the burning greenery.

Zac left the Lurantis up in the branches. His buffed up mantis was flush with power and excess sunlight, and could hold its own against Infernape.
Instead of hanging around to watch the fight, Zac ran after Sénon Game 's Croagunk, grabbing out another Pokeball as he followed the frog down to the bank of nearby river. He could see it lounging on the riverbed, breathing through its skin. "While I applaud your usage of the biome, it's not much of a battle challenge if you don't have an opponent." Zac said, tossing a Pokeball into the water.
It landed upstream of Croagunk, and red light swelled, the water level rising as a tremendous, shambling mass of vines took shape. Zac's Tangrowth swelled in the shallows, its vines soaking up the sweet water water. The bulky biomass shuddered, releasing a floating Stun Spore and waves of greedy Leech Seeds that were swept down towards Croagunk.
The water surface shimmered, thick with the drifting spores, and the seeds tumbled along the river bed, looking for a rich patch of soil (or frog) to settle on.
With steady, squelching footsteps Tangrowth stomped downriver towards the hiding Croagrunk.

the flames of their victory burned throughout the jungle, flushing out the chatot that hid among it and into the jaws of defeat by another trainer. would majima and kazimir have liked to have dealt the decisive blow to it? naturally, but smoking them out on their own was a feat worthy of enough praise all on its own. while their next pokemon seemed unassuming what with it being asleep kazimir wasn't going to underestimate it, not with it talking in its sleep as well as leaves began to swirl around it and strike out at the rest of the participants.

still that was a good signal as any for him and majima to continue their assault and the blonde tarzan scanned the area to see who would be their next victim. that's when the scyther made its presences known by cutting down the flames with its own two scythes and a powerful gust of air from them. perfect. it was time to pay back John Sullivan for his bug type propaganda. "Majima! let's go hunt down that scyther! bet it tastes real good~!"

the infernape took one glance at the mantis pokemmon before nodding in agreement with his trainer, it did look a little bit tasty, so he set off, hopping from branch to branch as they crumbled to ash from the flames destroying them. using his amazing acrobatics to weave through whatever was left of the canopy he even swung himself over a few flames that still remained, the heat not even registering as a threat to him as he got closer and broke off a branch with a bit of fire still burning on its tip as he jumped down at the scyther for an aerial ambush; "that's the way majima! go for the JUNGLE KING'S SPEAR!" kazimir cried out as his infernape twisted its body around the vines with its acrobatic agility and aimed the tip of its branch right at the scyther's shoulder.

It wasn't much of an ambush; you didn't loudly announce your intentions to target something if the plan was to surprise them. The monkey came flying through the air with a branch as a spear-

And Kama sneered at it for its poor stealth and choice in weaponry, cleaving the toothpick with one Scythe before swinging on her heel to lop the monkey's head off its neck with the other.

the blade came for majima's head seeking to end him and his performance once and for all, unfortunate for the scyther that the infernape was a little more thick skinned than it had hopped as he managed to bring his arms up just in time to catch the blade as it sent him hurling towards the jungle floor. he growled in pain and looked up at the bug thinking of what to do when he felt his paw brush up against a vine that had been brought down from the fire, long enough to probably be of use. 

giving the scyther one last glare he pushed himself back into the bramble of the floor, grabbing the vine with one of his feet as he retreated into cover. there he took a moment to let himself catch a second wind and calm his mind before fiddling around with the vine, inspecting its length and strength. it wasn't much but he could at least do something he's seen in his trainer's movies before and tie and end of it into a loop.

once his impromptu lasso was completed he gazed above his cover and spotted John Sullivan's scyther again and rushed out swinging his lasso above his head and hurling at it to try and wrap it around the bugs arms before trying to swing him onto the ground to be on his level. at the sight of this kazimir couldn't help but smile and be amazed at his pokemon's ingenuity that he blurted out; "RYHORN RODEO!"

Iver dreamed. He dreamed of fire, burning at dry palm fronds and smoldering in the crowns of trees. In his sleep he reacted, trying to spread his wings, to fly, to escape.

But his wings wouldn’t move.

“Oh, my! How sneaky. Just like a spider with a struggling insect in its web, you’ve immobilized my little Dartrix,” Chryssa said to Eva Morales , eyes gleaming. The owl still sat on the ground in the clearing, twitching faintly. “But this insect has a few more tricks. Nobody’s used the ground yet, have they?”

The last was called after Zac Ramsay , who’d already set off to chase down Croagunk. Failing to get an answer, Chryssa turned back just in time to see Doug's Scyther swiftly extinguish the remaining flames with a powerful Vacuum Wave. The red light which had bathed the clearing vanished, and as shade crept back in, Iver made his move.

Shadows gathered in a dark pool around the owl’s feet and Iver dropped into it as if a trapdoor had opened up in the ground, sinking into the red jungle clay like a diver feet-first into water. He vanished from sight, lost in the tangled shadows of jungle trees and hanging vines.

Drawn instinctively to the violent movements of the Scyther above, Iver emerged from the clay to parry one of the insect’s frenetic strikes with an arrow-shaped LEAF BLADE. The dart pinged off the Scyther’s claws, a pure chime resonating through the jungle sounds all around them.

In his dreams, he cut through a burning palm frond that fell from the canopy towards him, slicing it in two.

Intuitively sending the fiery presence of Infernape as it made its improvised attack, Iver sent another pair of LEAF BLADES spinning through the air towards it, sinking back into the shadows as he did. His body melted into the clay until only his head remained, peeping up from the shady forest floor like a burrowing owl in its den.

He was still dead asleep.

As Sabine Calcifet and her Liepard sashayed past the judge’s table on their way out of the jungle, a lithe, golden-spotted form slipped past the pair, flashing an identical sharp-toothed grin to the other.

“No use wasting a perfectly good Liepard,” Chryssa said with narrowed eyes, snapping her fingers. She smiled, directing her voice to the rest of the challengers— Melody Miro @rowan and those standing by who had yet to find their place in the rainforest battle royale. “With Chatot down, I suppose you’ll have to catch my Liepard. Into the trees, Ryss— use Agility!”

The sleek feline bounded forward, its elegant limbs a blur as it vaulted a tree trunk with its sharp claws propelling it effortlessly upwards. The blackened bark crumbled, leaving showers of soot in the purple Pokemon’s wake. Nothing could climb like a Liepard, and Ryssa leapt from one thick branch to another, criss-crossing the clearing in a display of finesse and power.

Seems like for the most part her attacks were successful? The chatot was out and now there was a liepard that they challengers were meant to handle to which melody easily found a way to deal with it's movement. "If that's all it can offer then this is simple!" she said as she began to grow an eager grin on her face "Rilla! Taunt!" she called out as rillaboom stuck it's sticks into the ground and let out a massive shout aimed at the liepard, the battle cry echoed through the jungle as she tried to bait the liepard into a battle with rilaboom. "Show us what you got liepard! See if you can topple this king!" she continued as she worked in tandem to bait the liepard. [break][break]

Melody wasted no time in trying to land a hit on the liepard, she didnt want to continue spamming the same move over and over so instead of opting for a hypervoice to attack melody then gave her next order "Rilaboom! Use the leaves in the area around us and use razor leaf!" Rilaboom began to beat his drum again, as plant life and foliage around rilaboom began to grow and bloom. The leaves from above the treeline and from the floor began to circle around the duo as melody danced and then launched at the liepard's location as she tried to land a hit. Should the leaves miss melody hoped they'd at least shake the trees enough to give rilaboom some more ammo instead.

Things were not going well for Cypress and Rowan. Somehow the bellosom managed to get away, the Pokémon was a lot more nimble then it let off. Rowan’s fist clenched in annoyance as one of the judges countered Cypress’s leafstorm with a leafage. Serperior would land on the jungles floor giving his opponent an unpleased glare a low hiss emitted from his neck. Though it didn’t seem to intimidate Iver very much as he flew away, and Rowan was left without anyone to battle. It was a weird moment, but it didn’t last long for another opponent to show up

Serperior would watch as Chryssa’s liepard dashed back up into the dense trees, a small smirk from him. Cypress would easily be able to catch liepard and strangle it. “Follow Liepard Cypress! Before that happened, Cypress got caught up in the rillabooms leafstorm, though the serperior was quick to shake it off. Crinkling his forehead Rowan would look towards the gorilla, a sigh. “Guess we’ll have to take care of them first, Cypress use leech seed!” Small seeds would scatter next to the rillaboom, they shortly blossomed and would begin to steadily sap away health from the Pokémon.

Having followed the Croagunk down to the river Sénon wasn't too surprised that Zac followed down to keep Dose in the game.

It was a brilliant play for Dose for take a reprieve from the battle in a place where few other pokémon would follow and most of those would be at a speed disadvantage.

Zac's answer to the maneuver was on the surface appropriate one; send a creature that could make the water a moot point.

However the new attacker made possible a counter; one that was his most potent.

He evaded and the kept the leech seeds and stun spores at a distance. Anything produced by grass types in a battle was bound to be bad news. Dose had to leave the river bed just to get away but he was refreshed, cleaned and ready to power through.

Along the river bank he would engage trying to slip past the many the vines of the Tangela closing his the distance to his pursuer.

"If pushed to its limits and flushed from a hiding place, a Croagunk will use its most potent and innate defenses!"

When neigh face to face with the tangled challenger whether ensnared by its vines or not the Croagunk would remind the plant not to overplay its hand with a TOXIC purple pulpy crud it spewed from its mouth to attempt to cover the ball of vines in its froggy spew.

It aimed for the face but any where would do.

Despite multiple showings today that Croagunk was quite poisonous none of the creatures approached it with the appropriate amount of weariness. "DOUBLE DISCHARGE!"

This Tangrowth would be the last to do as any toxic sludge that hit would be followed up by an attempted precision shooting of yellow bile providing a painful VENOSHOCK when the yellow bile hit the purple sludge.

Even if the Tangrowth tried to siphon life back from the frog with its vitality-leeching seeds, it would succumb to the poison faster than any leeching could heal.

Oh? someone was trying to hog the spotlight huh? @rowan 's serperior was trying to handle the liepard which was melody's target at the moment. The serpiror tried to use leech seed on rilaboom, however rilaboom was a grass type so they'd be somewhat useless on him. The seeds landed in his mane and then tried to wrap themselves around his body but rilaboom flexed so hard that the vines broke on it. Maybe it was time to give someone two left feet? Oh...wait serperio doesnt have fe- Well regardless melody changed tempos in her dance for rilaboom to follow "Rila! super sonic the serprior! Dont let them upstage us!" she commanded rilaboom let out a fearsome roar and began to tap the side of his drums to create an erratic rhythm that would lead serprior to become confused. She stopped her dance momentarily as she struck a pose with her hands in the air "Sorry cutie, leech seed wont work on a fellow grass type~" she teased at the mistake. Afterwards melody turned back to look at the liepard "Hyper voice liepard and serprior! Shake some more leaves off for us to use!" she sang as rilaboom began to beat even harder on the drum causing some powerful soundwaves to be emitted

even if their little rodeo might not have been as "fun" as the duo imagined it was the sound of thundering drums that rattled their heads and made them cover their ears in unison. looking around it wasn't hard to miss the source being a large gorilla beating down on a drum and screeching like a madman. "you thinking what i'm thinking majima? let's quiet down this jungle, HOP TILL YOU DROP PUNCH!"

there was no hesitation as the infernape dropped his rope and dashed forward, bouncing off of the trees to get behind Melody Miro's rillaboom and aim a speedy mach punch right into its back to send it onto the ground. a free for all was a free for all, so he hoped the judge he was fighting didn't mind the little distraction.

  Sensing an advantage, Croagunk came for Tangrowth. The fighting frog was lithe, and versatile, and it avoided all of Zac's broad attacks. However it hadn't seen the trap.
Going up against a poison type without some sot of defense is madness, and as Croagunk closed in on the mass of vegetation, Tangrowth's Sunny Day burst through the canopy. The forest sunlight baked the air, and turned the spore-sprinkled stream into a path of gold. That wasn't the trap though. The trap was Tangrowth. As the sunlight reached the mound, its Leaf Guard activated. Vine walls thickened, pores tightened, and the vegetation grew waxy, resistant to the frog's incoming poison.
It was a good plan. A solid plan. But it didn't account for Croagunk's speed. The frog was an absolute bullet both in and out of water, and his poison hit home before the Leaf Guard could finish forming. Croagunk followed up with a shot of yellow goo. It was a powerful reagent, and where it collided with the prior purple poison the two sizzled and fizzed eating through unprotected chunks of Tangrowth's swollen vines.     "Nice one!" Zac called to Sénon Game , "Dose is one hell of a fast little bugger!"
    Tangrowth recoiled from the burning sludge, chunks of her arm falling into the water. His form rippled, and he pulled lazy streams of green life from the jungle around him. Fat flowers drooped, vines thinned, and Tangrowth swelled as she drained back much of her lost health. But not enough. She pointed her red-fingered hand at Dose, and pulled.
