Even as she's caught up in her own nightmares, the sight of her devils doesn't quite blind her to the reality that surrounds her. Perhaps, its a result of her mind's own failsafe kicking in, preserving every bit of sanity it possibly can as she swallows a light breath and exhales slowly. Thankfully, John Sullivan's refusal to let go of her brings about a wave of comfort that she can't quite explain, her hands clutching tighter to his clothes as she finally dares to take a look around the area.

And perhaps, that's her second mistake made on this trip, a chill running down her spine as she watches the attack crash into a barrier. If it hadn't been defended against, there'd be no doubt that it would have hit her and in turn, gotten Doug too. Her eyes widen at the realisation, a small hint of fear growing in her heart as she instinctively inhales and whistles sharply.

Reiner responds to the sound as if possessed, anger driving his actions as he too realises the implications of facing this killer. With electricity pulsing through his mane in fitful bursts, he unleashes a Thunder Wave at the creature, aware that every bit of opportunity he can buy for other may just go a long way. When given the suggestion to hit the feral pokemon's helmet, Eris gives a tongue click and Reiner in turn lets loose a Spark for its head.

Its fight-or-flight that numbs her to the madness, a soft tap of Doug's shoulders giving him the sign that he should probably put her down in order to best focus. And she offers him a weak smile that assures him that she's okay, barely holding onto her nerves but just sane enough to focus on what to do.

He wasn't just fighting Megalopolans that remained, he was still enraged. The sheer thought that he hadn't been calmed as the others were didn't even occur to her before. However, with the horrific view before her, Ruby couldn't tear her eyes away. As it began to fire Tri Attacks their way, Ruby quickly snapped back into attention. The attacks struck all around them with such intense force, she almost couldn't believe it. They had to break it free of the control... one way or another. They couldn't leave him like this. [break][break]

With John Sullivan taking control and directing everyone to not only move towards Hideo Kino , the weakest physically of the group, but to target it's helmet, Ruby didn't hesitate to begin to act. "Amor, Air Slash, now!" With a loud passionate battle cry from the Shadow Togekiss, it swung its wings and launched a powerful slicing wind burst towards the Type:Null. With its ability Serene Grace, hopefully, it would be flinched easier. It wasn't precisely like the other beasts this Shadow Pokemon had grown to despise, but its aim was hopefully as true as before when fighting such foes, or at least was enough to disrupt its own aim.[break][break]

The cave shook from the combat, in particular, a massive Dhelmise owned by Andy Blackadder seemed to be the cause of it. "Careful! You'll bring the whole place down!" Her attention shifted to the two Pokemon by her side, continuing to bark out orders as they protected her. "Grace, stay close! Whisper, get over there and protect Hideo Kino !" Whisper's quick, short-range teleportation as her standard locomotion would get her over towards the younger boy and his Aggron easily enough, her claw readied to strike should the Type:Null approach.[break][break]

Her Gardevoir, on the other hand, looked much more panicked than her other pokemon. The vision of death and gore disturbed her greatly, but she'd sacrifice herself to protect her trainer without a second thought. Sticking close to their trainer, and John Sullivan 's Dustox using Protect, the two carefully moved with the group to try and keep them all close together. [break][break]

Darling the Indeedee was still focused on the panicked younger child. As Eris Halla seems to grow back to her senses, she allows herself to shift her focus to the actual combat at hand. Clutching her hands together, the Indeedee began to use Helping Hand, as a rainbow-like aura would surround John Sullivan 's Ledian as it went in for its punching blow.

notes Shadow Togekiss uses Air Slash, benefited by Serene Grace and potentially? more accurate due to it's shadow abilities, in an attempt to flinch the Type:Null. Maybe he’d spaced out too much?

In the time it took for him to recover his senses, they were being attacked—and out of the corner of his eye, he saw Luxu suddenly move, darting forward to take one of the Tri-Attack beams head-on. Mercifully it was the fire offshoot of the attack, so it didn’t mean too much to her, being part-Fire type and all.

“Helmet, huh,” he remarked as he forcibly pulled himself into the present.

“Hawkeye! Try to hold it down with your Spirit Shackle!” he began, finally kicking his ass into gear. “Luxu, Fire Lash the helmet thing! But be careful!”

The Decidueye didn’t need telling twice—extending its arms as far as it would go, before firing off several arrows made of spiritual energy; an attempt to hold down the Type: Null—not that he knew what it was.

The Salazzle then slithered forward, flat on her belly before rearing up once she was close to the bloodsoaked—was it a Pokémon, he couldn’t tell from the current state it was in—and attempted to catch it by surprise with a close-range Fire Lash attack.

The Golurk remained at the very back of the crowd, raising its fists.

“Alfons, if it moves forward any further. Get ready with a one-two Shadow Punch.”

He heard the creaking of the Golurk’s joints as its arms moved into position, getting ready to fire…

• Decidueye aims a Spirit Shackle at the Type: Null!
• Salazzle moves in and attempts a close-range Fire Lash attack!
• Golurk prepares a one-two Shadow Punch should the strange—being approach.
• Arashi’s mostly there. Mostly.

YOUTH LEGENDARY POKEMON HUNT!!1!

AS THE TYPE: NULL DARTS AROUND, the cave walls are struck by the residual energies and overextended physicality of Pokemon attacks. Rock crumbles off. Stalactites plunge. The advice to aim at the helmet is heeded well.

As the Type: Null pounces from a curved cave wall as a springboard, sparks, flames, and wind strike at its helmet, chipping its immensely durable material. Briefly, it seems to be stunned. Flinched. However, the smokescreen from Andy Blackadder's Centiskorch eventually expands into the shape of this cavern container. Visibility diminishes within this bloody cave.

Glowing red eyes will be the only sign of its presence within this dark, smoky cave. Among you all, a killer stalks... should you not be able to find it before it unflinches itself.

Shit. What if that's the only way? Grimacing back in the direction of Ruby Walker 's chiding, the smoke obscured her, but perhaps it was for the best. It would spare her his stank face. John Sullivan was trying to keep everyone's head on straight, and the type:null was getting absolutely clobbered from their little blitzkrieg.

If only the megalopolans had sent their ultra beats one at a time.

Coughing as smoke filled the cavern due to Inca's quick defense of his trainer, doubtless the centiskorch was thinking more of the boy's safety and less about the terrain in which they found themselves. Even after the beating that slammed into the monster, its gleaming eyes still bore through the smoke. While it was uncertain how visible it was to the others, Andy could see it.

The heavy breathing emitted from its gullet was a much more chilling effect however.

''Hello! Hello! Is everyone alright!?'' The pokedex hovered about the stalactites near the roof trying to see if any harm had befallen anyone. Andy didn't respond directly. ''You heard the man! Right between the fucking eyes! Break his mask! Let's see that ugly mug.'' Epitaph responded by slinging a shadow ball at the eyes.

The cracking sound of the sharp stones separating from the roof where still echoing all around them. Incandescent lunged at the creature, hoping to ensnare it his coiled form. Similarly Skylar's anchor moved, drug across the ground from where it had fallen after its previous attack, the clump of seaweed hoping to further entangle it within its chain.

A stalagmite smashing into the cave floor beside it, showered Andy with splinters before he could bark out another order. Stumbling off into the smokey abyss in recoil, there was the ultimate hope to avoid another one landing right on top of him. He didn't know just how successful he would end up being to that end. No matter what however, the enemy before them was more important than anything.

There was a lot going on. Too much to process. Hideo was really regretting not bringing Elga along on this trip; his Telepathy would’ve made understanding everything much easier. He could tell that a number of Pokemon were sent over to keep him safe, and that John Sullivan was directing everyone to cover him.

Pom was holding on to him as she tried to keep watch for any further attacks, keeping her body behind the cover. Fortunately, it seemed like everyone else was keeping the Type:Null occupied, and someone even managed to pinpoint a strategy for defeating their foe: aim for the helmet. Seemed straightforward enough - until the smoke was spread around.

Hideo could taste the Smokescreen in the air; though it wasn’t thick enough to irritate him, he could still feel it with each breath. He knew this probably meant everyone else was going to have a hard time finding their target. And with this momentary lull, they could assess who was ok and who wasn’t.

“I’m alright!” Hideo shouted, shifting around to make himself more comfortable behind his cover. With a moment to think things over, he considered where his Pokemon were positioned: his Ribombee and Ambipom were still with him. Knowing his Lycanroc, he must have charged right at the Type:Null, while his Aggron, he could hear those footsteps slowly get closer.

“Rocky, keep track of that Pokemon!” Hideo ordered. He trusted Rocky enough to keep himself safe, so his priority would be to avoid losing track of their enemy in all this smoke. Rocky, who had to step back from the Type:Null amidst all the chaos, went to work, his nose glowing as he tried to lock on to its scent.

His Aggron, meanwhile, braced himself for a closer confrontation, his body hardening through his Iron Defense. He just had to close the distance now...

“What the hell—it didn’t work?” he said as he looked up to where the Decidueye stood on the Golurk’s shoulder, who squawked in response.

“Well, if that didn’t work… get ready to fire a Leaf Blade!” he shouted at the dual-type, who then nocked a peculiar-looking arrow—actually a Leaf Blade, only ready to be fired in a different manner.

The Golurk remained prepared to fire off the Shadow Punch at Arashi’s command, while the Salazzle feel back before joining him once more, scenting the air and getting ready to defend her human companion should anything befall him.

“Anyone found it yet?” he asked the rest of his companions.

• Arashi goes ‘wtf’ because the Spirit Shackle from earlier didn’t work(?!)
• Decidueye prepares a Leaf Blade attack!
• Golurk remains ready to fire off Shadow Punch as needed!
• Salazzle returns to join Arashi.

[attr="class","rolling-thread"][attr="class,"faction"]The cave itself was certainly taking the brunt of every single missed attack, or perhaps that was simply the strategy of Frankie's in this corrupted state of theirs. Her heart was quite simply beating out of her chest, as rock and dust crumbled down and around and smoke filled the air, Ruby couldn't afford to let her guard down. Whatever happened to Frankie... the only way to help would be to help knock them down.[break][break]

Covering her head protectively, a few rocks crumbled down and would have impacted her directly if it wasn't for the protective Gardevoir practically hovering over her, taking the weak blow for her. As far as she was concerned, there was no time to delay. "Amor!" The young trainer cried out to her Togekiss, trusting that its new senses would enable it to still strike. "Aura Sphere! Darling, Helping Hand!"[break][break]

The Shadow Togekiss cried out with a battle cry, its aura-sensitive eyes scanning the cave. It wasn't like the other beasts, but they could still sense it much better than it could be seen. Raising their wings, they quickly twirled and built up energy. At the same time, Darling in the back once again held together their hands and covered Amor with a rainbow glow. With a flap of their wings, a powerful dark-blue sphere launched straight towards Frankie.[break][break]

Having to fight blind wasn't something Ruby was a fan of and she refused to just sit here and encourage everyone else to just wait for it to attack again. It could almost certainly see better than they could, she was sure of it. With a loud yell, Ruby called out. "We're sitting ducks! We gotta move back, bring it out into the open outside before it's too late!"

Even if John Sullivan doesn't quite put her down, Eris has ways to carry out her own plans. "Come on, Hideo!" Even when the smokescreen rises, the Luxray isn't deterred in the slightest, running over to Hideo's side and nodding to the Ambipom as Eris reaches out for the boy's hand. If he allows her to, she then pulls him right onto Reiner's back and urges the feline to move back towards the group. Just as Ruby has stated, fighting in the cave is by no means advantageous for them, much less so if they're separated.

Eris Halla suddenly coming to life startled Doug, the youth quickly finding himself childless as the girl sprang for her Lion.

"Wait, don't- Damn it!" Doug said, cutting himself short as Eris quickly mounted her pokemon and made for Hideo.

No point in screaming after her now.

Best to stop the monster from approaching at all.

"Let's just end this right now!" Doug said as he reached up to grasp the hem of his hat, a sparkling lightning traveling through a lengthy cord before reaching a gleaming marble holding it down as weight.

The marble alighted just as a similar gem, etched between Garo's wings, came to life.

Mega Orbeetle

His psychic powers now uber-charged, the Mega Orbeetle's senses snapped unto the monster in an instant, the message swiftly spreading to all of his allies through telepathy as his eyes shone blue.

G-MAX GRAVITAS

Psychic energy attempted to grip at the Type:Null, gravity... growing to nothing. It tried to lift in the air and entrap it in a gravity less environment; leave it unable to so much as move.

"Destroy its helmet now!" Ordered Doug with a swing os his arm, the Iron Fisted Ledian flying forth along with their allies to unleash a powerful punch upon the monster's helmet.

Ultra, meanwhile, moved alongside the child's pokemon, maintaining itself as a meat shield between them and the monster.

The shadow ball impacted impotently against the chipped mystery material mask. The creature is rocked by the centiskorch's lunge, stumbling against the rocks beneath his feet. The forceful impact feels as if it might have hobbled its ability to fight at maximum effectiveness. It's eyes flick from the bug type to the stalking lycanroc.

The darkness came alive around it and tried to take the Type:Null, only to wash harmlessly over it. Suddenly, Frankie could move again. No longer held in place by the devil magic of some unseen flying pokemon further back in the cave, the first thing it desired to do was to bat Incandescent away with an Air Slash, kicking it into the cavern wall with frightening force.

''Ghost types moves seem ineffective!'' Buzzer warned. This was a mistake his own trainer had made. ''Plan for normal type!'' The most logical choice. As the ceniskorch's flames dimmed from the rock dust mixing with the smoke around it, the Type:Null went to surge towards his captors, only to stumble over the moving anchor from the dhelmise.

His rage only further inflamed, his keen eyes noted all the forces gathering around the weakest among them. There was a big one yelling, calling all the shots. That one! That one needed to go. Cut off the head, and the rest of the bodies would die. The arrow chinking against the helmet to chip away a tiny sliver distracted him, one that smelled of metal and flesh.

There were too many of them together, unlike the terrified fleeing stragglers he had collected before. Still, they were breaking. One of the smaller ones were trying to get away with another. Trying to run were they!? Flashing a scary face at the luxray, he hoped to halt it in its tracks. Before his attention fully returned to the big one, he suddenly felt a strange sensation.

It was if he was weightless!

Claws and feet scratching at the ground, an sense of panic overtook the Type:Null as it lifted into the air along with several rocks, pebbles, and fallen stalactites. It let out a blood curdling wail of frustration. What sorcery was this?! Then an aura veil slammed into his head at full force, snapping it back harshly.

It was super effective!

With a cracking racket, splinters and shards spiraled out from the impact to float in the zero gravity zone. The Type:Null cut a full cartwheel in the air. Dazed, the impact had sheered away the top of the helmet, revealing Frankie's plumage, and a single confused eye. For a moment it spun limply in the air. He had forgotten where he was for a moment.

''Gengar..'' Knowing his typing was likely useless, Epitaph reached out with poltergeist to right the creature and hold it in place for further assaults rather than leave it to flail in the air. With a distant clanking, Skyler reeled up the main portion of its body before blasting out another anchor shot.

Perhaps overkill enhanced by steel worker, it blasted into the back of the remains of the helmet for more chunks to fly into flotation around it. More cracks spider webbed from the point of impact. The Type:Null attempted to flail helplessly against all the forces arrayed against him. Even if he didn't know what was going on, his urge to kill these pests returned!

Rocky had managed to catch the Type:Null's scent, but between the flurry of attacks sent its way, Rocky didn't have an opportunity to get close. So he waited, looking for an opportunity.

Hideo heard Eris Halla call to him, and he could hear something approach him. He could only assume it was Eris and her Pokemon, and he was ready to try and encourage her to stay here where there's cover, and let everyone else deal with the Type:Null.

But he isn't given much of a choice; Pom pushed him towards Eris, who helped pull him on top of her large mount. Hideo didn't recognize what Pokemon it was by touch, but it was big - bigger than Rocky. And stronger if it could support the weight of two kids.

For better or worse, Hideo was stuck for the ride. He held onto the mount, doing his best to avoid falling. Pom followed along, keeping an eye on her trainer, while the Ribombee that had done nothing but cling to the boy's hair in fear...kept doing just that.

Pom was ready to intercept that Mean Look, so the Luxray could move unimpeded, but Rocky took the initiative, getting in the way and even shooting back a Scary Face of his own.

It could probably even serve as a distraction: the Aggron finally got close enough to reach the Type:Null - without running straight into the 0g field - and swung his massive tail at the Pokemon, trying to aim for the helmet everyone was shouting about.

Hideo mounts the Luxray.
Lycanroc intercepts the Mean Look, and responds with Scary Face
Aggron finally reached the Type:Null and used Iron Tail

Monster immobilized, Hideo Kino and Eris Halla safe for the moment, typing confirmed.

They wouldn't get a better chance to do it than now.

"Concentrated fire, everyone! We'll destroy that helmet in one fell swoop!" The youth ordered as he swung his arm, nodding at his Ledian.

The Mega Orbeetle did its best to continue holding the enemy aloft alongside Andy Blackadder's Gengar, hoping for Ruby Walker and Arashi Akiyama to unleash their best moves now.

The Ledian reeled back all four of his arms and breathed in deep as it launched forth, intent on pummeling the helmet to pieces with its iron fists.

Orbeetle is using G-MAX GRAVITAS.
Ledian is using an Iron Fist boosted Mach Punch.

She had never seen an Orbeetle Mega Evolved, but John Sullivan 's powerful pokemon and his psychic presence was intense. However, this was no time to marvel at the power of strong Pokemon. Despite her caution, it seemed their strategy was genuinely working. [break][break]

Elevated in the air, attacked by pokemon on all sides. Ruby audibly gasped as his eye revealed itself. "Frankie!" Ruby cried out desperately as she tried to get its attention, hoping the helmet cracked apart would be enough to free it. Unfortunately, it seemed to go right back on the offensive shortly after. [break][break]

No time was paid to care whether or not the others would realize she knew its name, it was time to break that helmet for good and free him. Their suffering would come to an end, one way or another.[break][break]

Reaching up, Ruby gripped the necklace that hung around her neck. The gemstone quickly lighting up with power as a matching pair within Whisper's hair as the Pokemon quickly began to evolve. Tentacle hair splitting into three large strands, their size growing exponentially as the normally silent pokemon let out a loud cry.[break][break]

"Whisper!" The young girl shouted as loud as she could. "Rip that helmet apart!" [break][break]

A smirk immediately formed on the Forest Witch's face, just shy of murderous intent. Z-Power built and built as sound quickly faded away, as silent as the middle of the night. The Witching Hour had begun. With a Helping Hand from Darling doing her best to support her teammates, Whisper began to glow not just with psychic power, but with a rainbow aura before vanishing from view. [break][break]

Appearing nearby, Whisper's claw-like tentacles would slam forwards, attempting to practically rip apart the helmet as the sound came crashing back in on the Type:Null, potentially confusing them.

“Hawkeye! Go!” he shouted.

The Decidueye, from her perch, released the Leaf Blade arrow, before nocking another Leaf Blade arrow and letting that loose too.

“Luxu! Follow that up with a Flamethrower!” he continued, before the Salazzle slithered away, forward to where it was being held down and unleasing a close-range Flamethrower attack.

He then whistled sharply at Alfons the Golurk, who was still ready to fire the Shadow Punch.

“Alfons! Change of plans—” he said, before looking at everyone present.

“I all suggest to hold onto something, because—” he began, before the Golurk switched at the last second and rocketed forward, a huge shadow (that still had the Decidueye riding on its shoulder) before it had thrown all its weight into a Heavy Slam attack that shook the cavern.

“Shit, if that doesn’t work I don’t know what will!” he exclaimed as he very nearly lost his balance.

• Decidueye fires off its Leaf Blade and follows up with another Leaf Blade arrow aimed at the Type:Null
• Salazzle slithers right after to deliver a close-range Flamethrower attack at the Type:Null
• Golurk disengages Shadow Punch, however—
• Golurk suddenly flies forward and throws all its weight in a Heavy Slam attack at the Type:Null!
• And the cave shakes. OOPS
