Tossing up a pokeball into the mix, she lets out a sharp yip, urging the Luxray onwards as her Cyndaquil unleashes a Flamethrower at the helmet.

Floating as it was in the zero g field, the confused dhelmise reeled his anchor back from the air until it inexplicably clanked against the ground. Did androids dream of electric wooloos? Could haunted sea weed clumps receive psychic explanations? The great consequence of the situation left little time for such philosophical musings.

Striking some pokemon through the haze with his scary face, Frankie wasn't expecting to get one in return, wincing. He never saw the iron tail blast into the side of his head, spinning him around in slow motion within the air like a space pinata. More chunks splintered off to join the growing asteroid field of mystery material.

A mach punch then spun the monster on his vertical axis. While whatever hearing apparatus he possessed was surely ringing, a familiar cry reached his ears adding to the blunt force induced confusion. It didn't help when he then heard absolutely nothing. Most of the helmet fell away with the swipe that came after.

The large, jagged planetoid joining the field of floating debris. Left spiraling afloat once again, an arrow arched into its exposed flesh, eliciting another blood curdling howl that strangely didn't seem to hit how own ears until far later. All this sorcery, it was horrendously unfair. If only these assailants had been found in the woods.

They could have been picked off one by one!

Fire licked at its flailing legs, increasing the pained cries elicited from the dog piled predator. Even Incandescent had collected himself from his wall crater to join in with an inferno. Flames influenced by the zero gravity were a sight to behold, like fluffy billowing clouds of red and orange. The smoke only thickened, making the air difficult to breath.

To add the cherry on top of the Frankie souffle, a darkened golem soared through zero gravity to slam into the charred creature. The helmet shattered, pieces shedding from the type:null as it and the golurk both soared from the weightless field into the nearest cave wall, the centiskorch scurrying out of the way in a panic.

The entire cavern shook. A deafening crack echoed off of every surface. The helmet wasn't the only thing shattered. Chunks of the cave rained down. Boulders fell and began to choke the opening both before and after them. Collapsed into a blackened, bloodied heap, this place had become the grave of many and it would become Frankie's too.

''I would recommend vacating the premises immediately! Immediately!'' The shiny rotomdex cried as it made for the disappearing light at the end of the tunnel, the centiskorch and gengar trailing after it, the dhelmise too, though often hampered by stones clanking off of his metal form. Pained and annoyed, the pokemon sallied fourth, as should they all.

Hideo could hear attack after attack hit the Type:Null until he heard something shatter. He could only assume that they'd managed to shatter its helmet.

But unfortunately, that helmet wasn't the only thing falling apart; he could hear the rocks hitting the ground, and Andy Blackadder 's Rotomdex made it very clear they had to leave. "Come on, guys!" Hideo shouted, "Let's get outta here!"

Of course, there was one more dilemma that found its way into the back of his mind: the Type:Null and his Aggron probably wouldn't get out of this fast enough, so he had a choice: either try to capture the Type:Null and leave his Aggron to fend for itself in this impending cave-in, or help his Aggron escape at the very-likely chance of never getting that Type:Null.

Hideo already had Aaron's Pokeball out before he thought it through. It was a relatively easy choice to make, pressing the button to draw Aaron back into the ball. It did leave a bad taste in his mouth, pretty much leaving the Type:Null for dead, but he knew to prioritize his own Pokemons' safety over a wild one.

A wild Pokemon that left corpses in holes to rot.

All that he could do was hope Pom, Rocky, and Eris Halla 's Luxray were fast enough to get out in one piece.

Hideo is still holding on to the Luxray
His Ambipom and Lycanroc are following the Luxray out. The Ribombee still holds on to Hideo's hair.

Okay, so the Heavy Slam was—

A little too effective.

Not only did the cave walls shake, the ceiling was starting to come down!

“Alfons! Get back here NOW!” he screamed, watching as the Golurk struggled momentarily under the weightless field where he’d slammed the berserk…creature into. The Decidueye was hanging on for dear life as the Golurk used its fists to propel itself backwards, before managing to soar extremely close to where Arashi stood waiting.

“Luxu, get on! Anyone else who needs a lift, get on now!” he shouted as he scrambled up one of the Golurk’s arms; the Salazzle climbing as swiftly as she could to join the Decidueye.

“Go, Alfons! Fly!” he shouted as the shaking got worse and the Golurk reversed out of the cave once anyone else who needed a ride had scrambled on before lift-off.

Ladies, gentlemen and nonbinaries, we are ~~going to die~~ preparing for take-off.

• Golurk reverses mid-air ala Baymax and flies backwards, before soaring as close to where Arashi is waiting
• Once close enough, Arashi climbs up one of the Golurk’s waiting arms

The air was thick with air and dust, the cave cracking and crumbling down around them. Her priority was her new friends, and with the cave literally collapsing around them they had to leave, now.[break][break]

And yet, the brief glimpse of Frankie's terribly bloodied body in a literal heap was heartwrenching. The helmet was shattered, she could only hope it was free of its control... and yet, dying here alone was a terrible fate. Tears welled up in the corner of her eyes as her own emotions began to cloud her judgment, risking a single glance over at Frankie once more before nodding towards Grace, a silent mental thought shared only towards her Gardevoir with its Telepathy.[break][break]

"Let's get out of here!" Ruby yelled out, quickly ordering commands to her pokemon. "Amor, Protect! Keep our heads from being crushed by rocks! Grace, Life Dew!" [break][break]

The Togekiss would let out a cry in response, spreading its wings as a wall of force projected around it, determined to protect its trainer with everything it had as she and the rest of her Pokemon began to leave. [break][break]

Meanwhile, however, Grace quickly twirled and released her healing water droplets to everyone in the cave. Her fellow trainers, their Pokemon... And more importantly, even Frankie, on Ruby's order. [break][break]

Oh, what would Annie Mei say... Whatever it was, it wouldn't matter if they perished themselves. [break][break]

Nature doesn't yield kindly to the transgressions of man. With all the battling going down in the cavern, Eris whistles for Nova to return, tucking the pokeball deep into her pockets as Reiner tenses up. He's swift in his movements, lithe as he darts around falling debris to prevent the worst of it from hitting his passengers.

Of course, not even the worst scenarios of chaos can fully absorb Eris' attention, her eyes wandering over to the fallen Type:Null as she watches the scattered Life Dew drip upon its body. As much as she understands why Ruby would love to save the fragments of her friend's memories, a part of her knows that a feral pokemon could very well impede their escape. Rushing past John Sullivan, Eris slips him a quick look, her message hopefully clear as she nudges her head towards the predatory creature.

"The helmet is broken!" The young man declared, swinging his arm wide to signal. "Cease firing- Cease!"

There was no way to know whether having the helmet broken pacified the creature or not now- it had been brutally pummeled until it was bloodied and senseless.

"Oh... Shit. Oh no." Doug muttered, swallowing hard as he stared at the creature while the caverns began to quake, causing him to hunch over in alarm, barely managing to keep his balance.

Andy Blackadder's rotom soon blared in with an obvious warning, and it was all Doug could do to not snap at it with a 'no duh' as he looked all around.

As Eris Halla rushes past, the message is clear and well recieved.

Doug responds by grinning shakily at her.

No can do. He wasn't ready to kill anything yet.

"Garo. Ufo. Can you?" He ordered snappily at the pokemon. His eyes shone in response, and Doug swallowed.

"Yeah... didn't think so." He said as he turned towards the monster, looking over before breathing in deep. "Take everyone else, then. I'll be right behind you."

Alarm filled the pokemon for a moment, but one look at his trainer and he knew arguing would just waste time.

"Glasgow, with me!" He snapped at the Dustox as the Mega Orbeetle slowly rose in the air, its eyes snapping gleaming brightly as psychic auras suddenly surrounded all those present- save three.

Poof.

Doug rushed towards the bite pokemon meanwhile, grinding to a stop near by before breathing in deep, looking at Glasgow.

"Help me'ere!" He ordered, prompting the pokemon's eyes to shine before it shot a sudden... tractor-like beam at the senseless beast, the youth stepping boldly towards and breathing in before picking it up. "Com'on Frankie, ya big fugger! I ain't in the business of leavin' no man or mon behin'- Even ones tryin' to kill me! So let's go!"

With his pokemon's help, the youth sprinted towards the exit, senseless beast in tow.

Poof.

For a brief moment, everyone would find themselves floating together in some sort of void, before feeling a sudden rush as light flashed by.

-Mega Orbeetle used Fascination Ufo to teleport everyone except for Doug, his Dustox and the monster out (cause it can only be used on allies or with consent.)

-Dustox is using Psybeam to tractor beam the senseless beast.

The chaos in the cave doesn't subside. A stone the size of a basketball plummets towards the cranium of Hideo Kino where he thankfully his lazing pokemon takes the hit. Miraculously it isn't mashed into a gut filled stain. However it will likely faint. Hideo himself may experience the sensation of being knocked silly.

Leaving the monster to his fate, Arashi Akiyama rockets away on his towering steed, stones of various sizes impotently clanking off of his carcass with a deafening racket. Miraculously none of his pokemon are raked off to be left to a terrible fate. Thankfully for all involved, Ruby Walker 's togekiss ensures that any further injuries are moot, the rest of those present being shielded from the cave in.

Frankie, too dazed from the sudden freedom from his fancy head wear, and the horrific ass beating, stumbles to his feet when he is able to use them again. The world around him quite literally falling apart doesn't aid with his disorientation at all. While all the remaining trainers would be shielded from further danger ~~and suspense~~ by Garo's mass teleport, John Sullivan remained behind.

Capable of moving, at first Frankie attempted to resist the psybeam, as again, it was unsure exactly what was happening. Despite the rain of debris around them, somehow the remaining souls within the collapsing cave managed to avoid being struck. A moment later, all would find themselves outside, for the most part safe.

In a cacophonic cascade, the cave fell as if it were a flattening snake up until the entrance itself melted into rubble, vomiting smoke and gravel to pelt harmlessly against whomever might be closest. The scene outside was choked by a thick foggy quagmire of dust and smoke. Their location would likely have been noted, as the destruction cast the vapors high into the sky, flailing up in a large plume.

Thick and stinking as the air was, visibility was enough for all present to mostly see one another. Frankie had materialized right in the center of the lot of them. Glancing around with a vacant look within his pained eyes, none of this made sense right now. Where was he? What was going on? Why did he feel like he had been thrown over a cliff?

Tucking his legs under him, the creature bowed his head against his chest in a submissive cocoon. Looming out of the dirtied mist, the dhelmise looked over the type:null with a clear distrust beaming from his eye. The rotomdex zoomed over his shoulder to drink in every aspect of the mystery pokemon. Meanwhile a call echoes through the haze.

''Gengar? The mist muffled form of the bright centiskorch, mended through Ruby Walker 's actions, wandered toward the remains of the cave. ''Gengar?'' The ghost pokemon, with his shimmering white affliction, was much harder to catch a visual of. Looking up from reveling in his discovery, the rotomdex too hovered up into the air to vainly look around.

''Master Blackadder, Andy?'' Floating towards the cave as well, he was bothered when no immediate, severe response came. ''Master Blackadder, Andy?!'' All save for one had escaped from the cave it seemed. Despite all the psychic presence and the worried calls, Andy Blackadder was gone.

[In its weakened state, a capture attempt may be made upon the beaten type:null! This is a direct roll for capture attempt, with the highest result claiming the pokemon as their own. The light of the sun as they came barreling out of the crashing caverns was almost blinding. With a gasp for fresh, non-smoked air the youth collapsed to his knees along with his charge, his back hitting the grass with the weight of Frankie's confused form atop him.

"What the hell is up with today?" The youth groaned as he sprawled on the floor, his Dustox landing atop his head with his hat a moment later. He grinned. "Oh. Well done, Glasgow."

A moment later, the rest of his pokemon crowded around him, eyeing the suddenly meek Frankie wearily. Doug turned his gaze towards the pokemon, and for a moment tilted a brow at him...

Before petting his head gently.

"Guess goin' for the helmet really did help." He said in a mutter, before turning his gaze towards Glasgow. "Help 'im out, eh? Don'cha worry, Frankie. We'll have ya up n' yippin' in no time."

As the youth, ruffled the freed canine-ish pokemon's head gently with a grin, the Dustox rose in the air after moment of thought, its body gleaming with a soft light that shone over Frankie, slowly working upon his injuries. It wasn't night time, so it was only half as effective.

After a moment, Doug forced himself to sit up, still petting Frankie as he looked around.

"Roll call." He called out after a moment, looking around. There was Hideo Kino and Eris Halla; Ruby Walker and Arashi Akiyama as well, that was good. Andy Blackadder's Gengar and the rest of his pokemon...

"Guess we all made it, eh 'Andrew'?" He said after a moment with a laugh.

...

"... Where's Andy?" He said after a moment, joy drying out of his voice as his eyes slowly began to widen. His gaze snapped towards Garo.

"Garo. Where's Andy?" He asked once again. The pokemon looked even more perplexed than him. He could detect everything within a 6 miles radius with pinpoint accuracy... And yet.

Where was Andy Blackadder indeed?

"... No." Doug said after a moment as he forced himself to stumble to his feet, scrambling up towards the mouth of the caved in cavern, and starting to claw at the rocks. "No, no, NO!"

Unfortunately, Ruby Walker ’s Togekiss’s Protect didn’t reach Hideo in time, and there was a basketball-sized rock coming down with his name on it. And with nobody else stopping it in time…

*Whap!*

Hideo went face-first into Eris Halla ’s Luxray’s fur, dazed and discombobulated. He didn’t know what hit him; it didn’t feel as hard as a rock, but it was pretty heavy. The rest of what happened was a blur to him as he tried to regain his senses.

By the time he could recombobulate himself, he could feel the wind brush past his ears - and that awful stench had come back, albeit weaker than when they’d first found that pile. He dismounted Eris’s Luxray and brushed against his head, trying to dampen the pain from that bump he could feel he got.

He’d completely forgotten his Ribombee was on his head, only realizing it when he felt it still on his head, unmoving. It dawned on him that Pinky had taken a rock for him, and....oh no. Oh no.

“Pinky?!” He quickly plucked the Ribombee off his head (Pinky somehow managed to hold on even after getting hit). He shook the little bee, but it was unresponsive. “Pinky, c’mon! Wake up!”

He was halfway to putting the Ribombee against his ear to try and listen for a heartbeat before his Ambipom grabbed his arm. Right, he could try asking them. “P-Pom, i-is Pinky ok?” he asked, fighting back tears.

“Ly.” His Lycanroc answered instead - with a confirmation. Even with relief rushing through him, a few tears dripped down as he held his Ribombee close. Thank Arceus he didn’t lose Pinky.

It was only the roll call that interrupted the moment. “H-here!” Hideo said, “All my Pokemon are h-here too.” Pinky in his arms, Rocky and Pom by his side, and Aaron in his ball. If he were thinking clearly, he would’ve put Pinky in his ball too, but he was too caught-up in keeping Pinky close.

Also, he was distracted by the absence of one member; Andy Blackadder didn’t say anything. Hideo hoped that Andy was just distracted or something, but Andy’s Rotomdex and John Sullivan ’s panic smashed that hope. Hideo’s heart skipped a beat as he realized Andy might’ve still been in there.

Though he wasn’t completely hopeless. “Maybe-maybe he went to his camp? His Pokemon can take him there. He even took me there once.”

Reality would be called a fairytale if it could truly have happy endings. Sure, they had an adventure, they'd discovered the cause of such madness and even survived the ordeal but at what cost? An injured Ribombee, a Type:Null that seemed far too frightened to aggress and a missing leader.

Even though her knees feel weak, Eris tumbles off Reiner's back with a whisper of thanks, patting his fur as she forces herself to stand.

"Ruby, could you..." With a faltering question, she tilts her head towards Hideo Kino. She had seen the Togekiss and the Life Dew that had been used. There was no doubt that if anyone could help Pinky at this very moment, it would probably be them.

Silencing the voices in her head, Eris dares to wander over to Frankie, not hesitating in the slightest as she reaches out to pat his fur. As far as she knew, he'd been hurt, wounded by the very creatures that it may have once trusted and merely retaliated in a crazed bout of self-defence. There was no point in hating what had found itself destroyed by others, no point in hurting the defeated and fearful. In a sense, she understood that a hole had been left in its heart, a scar that would bear all the hatred it held for man. And she knew that though she wouldn't be enough to fill that hole, she could at least attempt to provide some sort of comfort.

As John Sullivan continues to panic, Eris tries to sit herself directly in Frankie's vision and gently covers his ears, blocking off the consequences of the battle they'd had. Reiner would attempt to provide Doug with some support, carefully digging at the rubble as to not disturb whatever space may have been below but she wouldn't move.

"Everything's gonna be okay now..." She hums, trying her best to stop the trembling of her hands. "No one's gonna hurt you..."

Thankfully, they’d managed to get out—while things did look a bit hairy for a few moments there, everyone had managed to get out and away from the danger.

All, except one.

“Hey, where’d—has anyone see the leader of the joint?” he said once he’d slid down from the Golurk’s hand to do a quick headcount of who had managed to make it out of the place without the entire thing coming down on them all.

“Wait, where’s… that kid? Uh,” he trailed off, snapping his fingers. “Andy?” he inquired, looking over at the strange, floating Pokédex as even it was looking for its registered owner.

Where had the other boy gone off to, anyway?

Before she could fall and slump to her feet, Grace her Gardevoir was quick to help her remain upright. The cave behind her crumbled into rubble, the sound of earth shattering an eerie reminder of just how close she got to losing her life. [break][break]

As Eris Halla began to speak her name, she quickly ordered both her Togekiss and Gardevoir to perform the more Life Dew, spilling healing water all over their party members as she attempted to gather herself and get a hold of the situation. John Sullivan had managed to rescue Frankie, but... They were missing one boy. His pokemon were here, and so was everyone else's, but Andy Blackadder was nowhere to be seen. [break][break]

She immediately steeled her nerves. Teleportation gone awry? It wasn't impossible, but there was no way he was still left-back in the cave... was there? If the Mega Orbeetle couldn't find him at all, then something was certainly up. Regardless, her fists clenched as she took in a deep breath to speak. [break][break]

"... We need to find him." She spoke out loud, wasting no time. A simple glance at her Pokemon was all she needed for them to suddenly begin their own impromptu search party, relying on their own unique set of skills. Grace and their telepathy, Amor and their unique Aura abilities, Whisper and their extremely acute emotional senses, and Darling, well, she was simply crying out as they walked, trying their best to help. [break][break]

Her attention turned to few digging away at the cave entrance, only to frown. There had to be more than met the eye here, there had to be... It was the only thing that made sense to her. Until he was found, Ruby wasn't going to stop searching. However, if there was anyone who understood the area, it had to be the one who had spent so much time here, even if it might not really remember. She had no idea what mental state they were in right now. [break][break]

Turning to Frankie, the poor Pokemon who they had gone through such an effort to rescue, she once again bottled up her emotions to keep herself calm as she spoke. [break][break]

"Frankie... I don't know if you remember me at all, but I knew Annie Mei . I know you're probably lost, and confused, and hurting... but so are we. One of our number is gone, and we need to find him." [break][break]

She'd pause, only to slowly kneel down and attempt to get a look fresh look at his maskless face. He was definitely a beautiful boy... Oh, how she would have wanted Annie to be here.[break][break]

"Please, help us find him. He's just a little boy. I can tell you anything you want, but right now, will you help us?"

If your orbeetle cannot detect Master Blackadder, Andy then that does not bode well indeed!'' Looming in the distance, the dhelmise hovered over the rocky terrain.

Dredging at the rubble would do little. The centiskorch still glowed through the smoke, his eyes looked about everywhere for his trainer. Epitaph plopped down on a rock casting a sullen glance at the ground. Tragic was it when a trainer lost a pokemon, but what about when a pokemon lost a trainer? What were any of them supposed to do now?

The type:null looked up from where he had collapsed in a beaten heap. While the healing prowess levied towards him was certainly helpful, a frightful array of power had been levied against him. Some things could not be so quickly mended. Despite the efforts of Eris Halla, her reach wasn't enough to deafen completely him. The named struck him with a tinge of familiarity, as did Ruby Walker's appearance.

Where had he seen her before...?

The attempted comfort of the small girl was familair... The fog that shrouded them all echoed the inner workings of his mind. Flashes of images appeared and disappeared. Where was he? What as going on? What did she expect of him? Perhaps in peak condition he could remember the innards of the cave system that he had made his home, but even then just how deep had he gone himself?

Its red eyes gazed with a hollow notion. Never had it felt so useless, and the inability to provide an answer now only compounded the depths of his misery. He should have been left to die. How could any creature ever trust him again, save for the most foolish trainer? Glancing away at the shrouded remains of the cave, he tucked his head back down against his body.

There was no desire for answers, just the indifferent embrace of sleep, his own small sampling of death.
