Not even a second after her impression does she break character, squishing her own cheeks as if it would help chase away the serious look she had to copy.

"I know Mars really well though! We went to fight demons in a haunted church basement once and almost died!"

Even now, she's still a little confused as to what exactly had happened, but she won't linger on it for long when she bears witness to DEREK HOFFMAN's slip-up. She stares in silence, then squints and directs her gaze to the ground as she scratches her chin, visibly lost in some series of mental gymnastics. Then finally, she looks to Mars with utmost earnesty.

Then again, he probably had, considering he had used a Cutiefly and not something like, say… Tapu Fini.

Can’t underestimate a pokémon because of its size, Eris.” Calm words spoken with a slight smile, since after all, Eris Halla had probably signed up to participate in the tournament on her own accord. She had put her pokémon in the position of having to fight against others, so hopefully it had at least been a good learning opportunity for the girl.

But then there’s Fernando’s question about them being on a first name basis, and when Eris responds before he can do as much, Mars chuckles at the mention of the events that took place under the church ruins in Ever Grande. Definitely not something he wants to think about right now.

Oh yeah, that’s a long story, but don’t worry… You can call me Mars too, if you want, Fernando.” He smirks at the councilman, and thankfully, DEREK HOFFMAN’s actions (nefarious as they are) seem to distract from the topic before there’s any need for him to give any explanations regarding “fighting demons in a haunted church basement and almost dying”.
