AS THEIR HAUNTING HOWLS fade into the forest, ollie morales and PENELOPE LIVY would find an opportunity to catch their breath thanks to the efforts of Ollie's YAMPER. Think of a new approach. The hours were quickly winding away without them, and they had not heard back from the others yet, though there seemed to be at least nominal activity in the area...[break][break]

But then elsewhere, DEREK HOFFMAN and annalise henderson make headway, unaccosted by the wild Poochyena pack prowling the woods around them. But they can hear the pitter-patter of their footpads as they race around them, yipping and crying out as the depart. As they continue investigating the area, Derek utters a word that disturbs the forest's peace...[break][break]

Back towards the EERIE MONUMENTS, a single obelisk adopts an unnatural glow, and upon closer inspection would have meen host to a plethora of UNOWN SYMBOLS lining its worn, earthen face. But instead a phantom claw rakes its surface, marring the structuring, sending it crumbling to the ground in a clutter of rubble and stunned Unown...[break][break]

In the wreckage, DEREK HOFFMAN and annalise henderson would be able to make out mismatched Unown tiles scattered across the ground. Given the luxury of time, they might have devoted time to rearranging them, but they have no such luxuries as the forest begins to awake around them![break][break]

A halphazard photograph would be the best they could do, snapped from their phones before hastily making their way to regroup with PENELOPE LIVY and ollie morales.[break][break]

The others would find themselves surrounded on all sides by a sudden OVERGROWTH, the treeline surrounding them physically shuffling towards them, corraling them deeper into the FOREST GROTTO, and even further from their companions...[break][break]

As they break through the twisted treeline, annalise henderson and DEREK HOFFMAN would have trouble isolating the sounds of their allies, and would need to rely on their pokemon to IDENTIFY their location, either by scent or their mind's eye.[break][break]

For a moment he thinks nothing is to come of the accusation, but the riled forest around them is very telling. The gym leader's words made something in the forest uneasy when he spoke the name. Apart from the rest, an obelisk even begins to take on a vibrant hue before being savaged by some unseen force.

"Let's go!"

Derek ushers Anna along as he rushes over, having gathered the other evidence into his pockets in a hasty scramble. The unown letters are sprawled all over, and the agitated forest makes staying feel like less and less of an option. A quick flash from his phone's camera is all there is to show for the potential evidence. It's not safe for them to stay.

"We gotta find the others, start tracking them down if you can."

With the Starmie quickly gathered into a pokeball, Derek releases a different pokemon in order to escort them out of here. "Rasputin, scan the forest for another pair of people." With or without help, the steel behemoth would eventually lead the desperate duo towards their friends in the WEATHERED TREES. The direction the forest was seemingly trying to scare them away from.

"Good, good, you guys are alright." As they arrive, Derek begins to rummage through his things to show Ollie and Penny the evidence they've found thus far. "I think we found out what's haunting the place." Everything is out for them to inspect, and hopefully they did the same with their's. Although the last bit of evidence was still a mystery...

"I'm still not sure what these say, but it's the most recent thing we found before hightailing it outta there. The woods started going crazy when I mentioned the name Trevenant." Anna was there for it and could vouch, rather than it look like Derek was going crazy. "I think that's what is haunting the forest. So if we're all ready...we can try to summon it now." It was funny what kind of stuff seemed like a 'good idea' here in Hoenn.

with one set of problems, there was always another.
