<The Wolf's Den> [Ettie's Base]
POSTED ON Feb 1, 2023 23:52:22 GMT
Ettie's secret base changes locations on the regular, moving from spot to spot around Hoenn every few days, with the movements of the nomadic pack itself. Otherwise though, the base itself is consistently a den or cave that the pack has decided to settle down in for the time being - a number of pokemon, and sometimes even Ettie, often spending time together inside or just outside the base. One easy way to tell when Ettie's pack (and the base by extension) are in the area is by the communal howling the pack does at night, before retiring for sleep.
- Guardian : Ruffian the Lillipup -
Ruffian is the guardian of the base - and even if he's small, he is tenacious and fearless to no end! He will attempt to pick a fight with you on sight - and safe to say, it's likely you'll have to defeat him, sneak past him, or some other creative solution to reach the flag! Bribery like food won't work - but if you attempt persuasion, he may react positively to flattery and stroking his ego...
- Decorations - The base is usually relatively sparse of decor - being that it's in a den/cave, and is a temporary set-up. However, you're likely to see at least a few of Ettie's other pokemon (excluding Gard) or even Ettie herself hanging around! Most of them will react generally positively or are otherwise tolerant of your presence - though it can depend from individual to individual. There are also a number of temporary nests of foliage, blankets, shed feathers, and the like set up as places for the pack to sleep. Adrae's and Astus' nests in particular will often have a number of random shiny objects peeking out amongst the bedding.
- Traps/Obstacles - Duchess the Electrike is the one obstacle that people are most likely to deal with. She's taken a liking to carrying the base's flags with her - and though she's extremely friendly to any visitors who come along, she's also extremely playful! To get the flag, you either have to tucker her out by playing, or otherwise outspeed her and catch her in a game of tag!
Rascal the Maschiff is a bit of a timid gal - she isn't likely to pose too much trouble if you aren't taking the stealth route. Though if she notices your presence, she'll begin kicking up a squeaky racket with her barking, alerting Ruffian in the process!
Adrae the Murkrow is, to put it simply, a mischievous little shit. If you run into her while she's in the mood to cause trouble (which is often,) she's likely to mess with you - be it by using Haze to make it harder to see, by stealing a shiny object of yours, or even just laughing at you while you're trying to deal with the other obstacles present! How rude.
Princess the Snubbull is a pretty lazy and slowgoing pokemon - you're more likely to accidentally trip over her while she's napping in some inconvenient spot (which is highly unlikely to even bother her, she'll just get up and sleep somewhere else in the base,) than for her to cause you any actual troubles. However, if you frighten Duchess, or injure any of the other pokemon, Princess will awaken and become aggressively protective - and safe to say, she's stronger than she looks!
