Clodsire was a surprisingly cute Pokémon. She decided this as she stood there gazing upon the Swarm that had appeared.

It was so cute in fact that she pondered if perhaps it would make a suitable gift for Megan Whitmore. Though she wasn’t sure if her best friend even enjoyed Poison types. But perhaps she would enjoy this one. She knew those types were an acquired taste, no matter wether they took the form of poisonous serpents, plants or fish. Still, she figured she might as well try and catch on.

And so accompanied by Gengar she would find a suitable subject and battle it as best she could, aiming to pluck it from its newfound home like a gardener would pick the poisonous Wisteria from their garden.

He doesn't get much closer than what he is now, gesturing at Tortellini. "See if you can grab me a Wooper! Something easy to carry." he said, sending the green and pink beach ball off.

Megan was no stranger to sifting through the mud, of course. That was probably her one good quality. Despite having started out in retail and not exactly as a nature child, she had taken to life on the road fairly well.

Some would say too well…but that was not the matter right then! No, there was a muddy river about – with a lot of Woopers and big Woopers working in unison. Honestly, that kind of cooperation between Pokemon was always a nice sight to see, so she mostly just stood there and took in the sights.

It would be kind of dangerous to just try and fight one of these. Given their typing, it would be tantamount to sticking your hand into a jar of poisonous quill fish to try and fish for some keys. Well, that was a tortured metaphor. But yes, attacking evolved mons ferrying little ones. It was probably best to just hang back and hope for stragglers, as always.

They're proper weird bastards, aren't they?

That's the main thought that crosses your mind as you watch the beasts swim through the water. You're plenty familiar with Quagsire, bright blue and bipedal and all that, but this one is on all fours and as brown as the mud it swims in. It's a newt experience for you, to be certain. You've never seen anything quite like it, but you suppose there's a first time for everything.

Clodsire, is what they're calling it. You get the "sire" bit, you really do, but is it really more "Clod" than "Quag"? Is one really more Clod than the other? They both seem plenty Quag and plenty Clod to you. Then again, you're not a scientist, so what do you know?

...Really though, they're so weird. They don't look like they've got a single thought in their heads. Funny little bastards...

Well, nothing left to do but catch one. If nothing else, they'll act like a good bit of comic relief in the ever-progressing journey of Shred Zeppelin. Hell, they might even prove themselves to be a real player...

Athena isn't the leisurely type, but even they can't resist the allure of lounging by the riverbank while watching Clodsire ferry Wooper and other small Pokemon across. While Baconator sits nearby, happily singing bits of grass, Thena kicks off their shoes and dips their feet in the water— carefully, to ensure they don't fall in.[break][break]
If poison dart frogs existed in Hoenn, perhaps Athena would attribute one of the several Wooper crossing the stream to them. But they don't, and so she doesn't. But she does have to wonder what makes such squishy looking things poisonous in the first place. Is it in their skin? In their spit?[break][break]
Maybe if she can summon up the desire to actually get up and try to catch one of these guys, she'll figure it out...[break][break]

Vanilla sat above the riverbed, looking in at the many shapes in the water that had been ferrying Pokémon across the water on its back. The teen had to keep herself from diving in and showering this poisonous Pokémon with as much love and affection as her little hands could allow. She took out Proxii and took a video of their antics, eager to see if she could get lucky and get a lucky catch!
