he gets another magikarp, though it wasn't as pretty as the magikarp that the other fishers get. while he doesn't usually care about the appearance of any pokemon besides his dogs, the fact that he's quite unlucky compared to others makes him kinda sad.

no other way around it besides testing his luck multiple times until he gets one that he wants. he casts his line once more.

Seemed like a lot of people were trying this seriously, giving their all in the fishing competition and almost getting violent with the magikarps. Something about someone wanting to execute one of the fish? Why would they do something like this? The fishies did nothing wrong. Throwing back his capture, Balder tried to land a better magikarp again.

noah casts his line again. he exercises a few more ounces of patience. a few more inches- or a lot more centimetres if you're under imperial. but it's hot out. it's so fucking hot. a bead of sweat runs from the roots of hairline down his temple. across his cheek. it's making a trek. it's on the oregon trail, and its shape begins to lose size as if the wagon lost its children to dysentery. dead weight. the sweat's heavy. like many pounds heavy. not many kilograms heavy, because the number is less impressive in kilos, but some people like that.

it's unbearable. so he decides to reel the line on the first bite.

"ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!"
