When the Guardian hears of the former Inquisitor’s new position as a Guardian to work alongside it, she has made a vow to protect those in the Forest and the village that was in it. She sheds her title as Inquisitor, a position that wouldn’t fit her anymore, now that she refused to kill the Guardian. In reality, the Guardian was a kind being, albeit it was only trying to protect the Forest and the village from other intruders that would know of its existence.[break][break]

“I would be happy to enjoy the festivities and cake with the rest of the fellow villagers.” She’d reply to the Guardian before the robotic creature takes her to the center of the village and have her enjoy the celebration. The newly appointed Guardian didn’t need to kill the Guardian who showed mercy to her too, a trait that she had done to prevent casualties.[break][break]

And so, the dream ends. A dream that ended suddenly that the ambassador can’t comprehend whether any of it that she experienced was real or not. [break][break]

Waking up from her sleep, Elise finds her Calyrex shard had been seated next to her as if he didn’t react to much of what happened to her. The younger gym leader spoke words that became clearer the more that her grogginess disappears from having a good dream.[break][break]

“I enjoyed my search for the Monster in the Woods.” She answers the gym leader’s question when he asks and the gym leader goes on to talk about her choice being the one to drastically change how the story ended. “Well, thank you. I’m happy to make a choice that had non-violence.”[break][break]

And when he asks if she had any questions on the story he presented or if there was anything she could’ve done differently, the ambassador begins to ask her question. “I would like to ask if this was a test, as you’d said earlier before the dream happened, whether I would abuse my power.” If she had acted more like her aunt, the villagers would definitely be scared of her. “I would never become my aunt in any way.”

Hideo smiled as the challenger gave her answer. "Yes. There are those that would let the power they have go to their head, either abusing it against those who they think are below them or thinking only with that power. To have power is to know when to use it - and when not to use it."

For it was important to defend oneself against a threat - such as the Delphox - but to also know when less harmful tactics were necessary - like with the Rapidash.

Or when words would be enough, like with the Guardian.

"This was a test, to see how you would act in a strange situation. And you showed that when given great power, you'd still act responsibly. Joining the village was a selfless act, though the people outside may one day miss you and seek you out."

Though the story didn't leave much room for the Inquisitor's life before entering the woods, there was always the possibility of family or friends desiring their return.

"But what's most important is that you found your way through this ordeal. And in doing so, perhaps you learned something about yourself."

Hideo reached into his pocket, taking out and offering a badge.

"That's what you've earned the Ordeal Badge today, if you'll accept it."

She was sure if Remiel had become King, he would use his power for the good of their people. Her cousin had no desire now, he only had it when his father was still alive. When her uncle wasn’t killed in the den that very day that she had stayed in Galar to visit with her father’s bitter elder sister, the Queen.[break][break]

“That does make sense now, I thank you for giving me this endeavor to do.” She gives a nod, knowing that the endeavor itself was an ordeal that she learned about herself and what she did in her position. “I learned something about myself throughout this ordeal and how I can tell the League’s Calyrex how much I’ve learned in the dream.”[break][break]

And when she’s shown the Ordeal Badge in the hand of the young gym leader, she takes it gently into hers. “Thank you, I’ll accept this.” [break][break]

Gesturing for the Calyrex shard to follow her out of the room, the royal ambassador gives a wave of good-bye to the gym leader and his Pokemon before she’ll leave…with a new badge in tow.
