Shalin had been expanding her Pokémon sanctuary in Petalburg Woods quite a bit, adding many new species to it. Shabraz the Sharpedo had been making herself at home in the plateau's lake, though she was still adapting to sharing the water with others. Her predatory nature made it difficult for her to resist the idea of being the queen of the aquatic section of the preserve. She loved bucking and RAGING with Shalin on her back, the Captain having already ruined one set of swimming trunks from rubbing her abrasive skin the wrong way.

Shalin herself, though, was away from the plateau but still in the woods, welcoming some of her new bug Pokémon to join the ranks of her veterans. She was excited to see what their wings would feel like. Feeling things were going to get a bit rough, she clicked open Swings' Poké Ball. "Alright, let's see how this silk of yours holds up!" Lowering her mandibles into a formation resembling a smile, the bug-type turned around and sprayed Shalin's rear with a thin film of sticky SPIDER WEB.

She would need it, too, with Hayabusa the Scyther lowering his wings to soon scoop Shalin onto one of them. Was this too much for her to handle?

It seemed the Captain's penchant for insects made her a popular way for Hoenn's people to get over fear of bug Pokémon. First zachary stellar , and now Elise? Thankfully for Shalin, this one was a familiar face who wouldn't be completely weirded out by seeing the girl's eccentricities in action. Hayabusa lifted Shalin off the ground, both she and her Flygon glowing a faint green as the Infinity Energy flowed between the two and made the physics-defying feat possible. With a focused squint and a strong hold, the Captain gave the order for the mantis Pokémon to BUG BUZZ.

A nearly paralyzing tingling sensation swept over the girl almost immediately when the Scyther's wings churned. The STICKY WEB was holding up well. Perhaps too well; she hadn't come to the realization until now just how her suit's "power" worked on its own. Without the help of her Ariados, she "floated" above the wing, sitting on it while it was rising and letting it catch her after it was done falling.

This was totally different, and way more intense. She was in constant contact with the wing, her skin rippling too fast to see with every wingbeat. Even Sandy let out a screech at how much Infinity Energy had to be discharged just to keep the rider conscious. That screech was a sign for Hayabusa to stop buzzing her. She looked positively delirious afterward, much of her exposed skin red. "Elise..." she waved unsteadily. "I... might have overdone it..."

Even with Hayabusa still, Shalin's words were a bit hard to understand, most of her body feeling like jelly. It only took her one ride upon the Scyther's wings to appreciate the sheer power needed for them to lift the giant insect into the air. Next time she used her Ariados for this, she knew to stick to the wings of a Pokémon with a higher beating frequency rather than something with such strength. She felt like she had stepped out of a blender from how powerfully Hayabuza buzzed her.

With some wriggling and the edges of her suit's scales, Shalin cut enough of the web to safely get off her perch on the Scyther. She frowned when she saw how hard the exertion was on the blade-armed Pokémon, noticing slight discoloration around the bases of the wing Shalin was on. "I... should be okay," the Captain huffed, still coming down from the adrenaline high. The Pokémon she was just atop gently fluttered his wings to clean his wings of the rest of the hardened silk. "I now know that Scyther wings and Ariados silk don't mix!"
