Rowan gripped the saddle of his Corviknight tight, buffeted by the force of the blast but remaining steadfast. "Have to end this." He muttered under his breath, digging heels into the avian Pokémon. [break][break]

The Corviknight burst forward, wings flapping with purpose as talons began to HONE CLAWS underneath. The former head-ranger was off-balance and an attack from spilling into the ocean, there was no better time to strike. An amber eye narrows as he spots the Mimikyu preparing another Wood Hammer. "Go, Valor!" He shouted over the wind.[break][break]

Rowan drove his Pokémon forward, aware he was steering the both of them into danger. "Now!" Corviknight let out a shriek, bearing down on the Metagross once more with a now empowered POWER TRIP. As soon as Valor struck, the WOOD HAMMER came down, bashing into the Pokémon and sending them careening through the air, unconcious.[break][break]

Falling rapidly, Rowan returned the fainted Pokémon into their ball, attempting to keep calm in spite of circumstance. Mistral surged forward across the shore, beaten and harrowed by the ROCK SLIDE that bore down on them. The Empoleon dove into the water, exploding across the waves until they closed the distance between them and their trainer.[break][break]

Mistral burst from the surface, launching themselves as high as they could to catch Rowan before diving back down into the depths. He was cut off from communication from Adrian at the moment, he'd have to hope the other could manage alone.[break][break]

When the smoke finally began to clear, shoved aside by the rising winds, Adrian was able to make out the other trainer opposing him. He felt the need to press his advantage, dwindling as it was, but that first precarious step further revealed just how much higher the tide has risen. Almost to his knees.[break][break]

He would need Greninja and Gyarados, later.[break][break]

A Dragonite appearing in the open presented its own challenge, but Adrian knew better than to doubt its speed, as one of the few creatures to rival Howitzer when pushed to their extremes. As it rushed them, he reached for its pokeball.[break][break]

"Oh no you don't," he'd bark defiantly, withdrawing GRENINJA in the nick of time before Dragonite would've crashed against it.[break][break]

Adrian had not anticipated the Dragonite rushing him instead. The attack wracked his body with painful shocks—sent him crashing back into the sloshing waves and a bed of sand. A bruise would appear in short order. Jolts ran through his body, but he'd gotten lucky. He was alive.[break][break]

Why was he risking all of this? Staring down such wanton brutality, it brought out his truest thoughts; is this how he wanted to go down...?[break][break]

...Coughing out the seaspray, Adrian struggles to get his second wind.

It was a decision for another time. Shoving a hand against the grit of sand, he was able to bring himself back to his feet, brandishing a pokeball quickly—and then another one. Soon enough, ARBOK and GYARADOS were at his side.[break][break]

This person, whoever they were, had done well to storm the beach. To simulatenously drag his attention away from their partner, while also focusing down their towering reinforcements. Had Adrian ignored them and pursued the other trainer alongside Rowan, they might've foiled their plans entirely—but he hadn't. He'd allowed them to split up their forces with this diversion, all while succeeding in taking out key elements of Rocket's defense... What a nuisance.[break][break]

"Arbok, lock it down." A sudden GLARE leaves the Dragonite paralyzed; still it was a threat.[break][break]

"Furor—" Out of the corner of his eye, Adrian catches a glimpse of a leviathan entity rushing across the waterfront towards Sootopolis City.[break][break]

Everything before now hardly mattered.[break][break]

"ROWAN—!"

Instead of the Greninja being Thunder Punched, the Rocket threw himself in the way while returning it. Dragonite hit him instead. Well, that was one Rocket that'd be hurting for a long while. With water up to his waist, he had Dragalge come to him and help him out toward the Rockets' initial battle line, since it was higher ground. He still sprayed a Potion on Phione, who was calming down. In the meantime, he had his poisonous dragon use Smokescreen to help cover Dragonite, now that he was close enough. And it was a good thing too, hearing the next command.

Dragonite had avoided the Glare thanks to the Smokescreen, and rushed up towards the flying Corviknight and its riders. He took the Power Trip for the Metagross, and used Aqua Tail in a spin to knock both the rider and their knocked out Corviknight away. Then the flying dragon zoomed towards the Metagross and its rider to assist in setting them back up or just do an outright transfer. Both of them got a good view of the leviathan heading towards Sootopolis now. And looking like it was ready to attack.

TLDR
Dragalge helps Oliver, also spewing out Smokescreen to help Dragonite.
Dragonite avoids the Glare. Moves on towards Rowan.
Takes the Power Trip, uses Aqua Tail to double tap Corviknight and send it and Rowan away.
Dragonite also tries to help Lars back up his Metagross or takes the trainer on his back or otherwise assists. (Ven's choice.)

With the way he was dangling in mid-air, amidst the pouring rain it was hard to climb back on his Metagross and to see what exactly was going on (all things considered).

The Metagross caught sight of the Corviknight that was now headed their way—it looked like a desperation attack as it lashed out and caught not just the Metagross, but him as well.

The thunder rumbled; lightning roared.

Yet nobody heard the scream of pain that escaped him as he felt something slice his arm. The Metagross heard the howl of pain and attempted to bring him back up to safety—however it was the Mimikyu who would use his spectral hands to haul him up to safety so he could see the damage.

The option to plug up the injury on his arm with ice was no longer there; all he could do was grimace as he tried moving his arm—okay, it was still usable—but the hiss of pain that escaped him warned him to be careful in case shit went too insane.

The Mimikyu would whine, before collapsing on the Metagross’s head out of exhaustion; from the looks of things the little Pokémon wasn’t too used to battling—another painful reminder of why the name that he shared with that someone was in fact a double-edged sword. He would quickly recall the Pokémon back to safety; not wanting to risk the other’s life before returning his attention to what was going on.

“Oliver! Are you okay over there?!” he would yell over the rain; the fear in his voice rising as the rain continued to pour relentlessly as the battle went on.

“Be careful!”

[attr="class","rowwtw"]Plunging beneath the waves almost came as a relief for Rowan, relaxing in the grasp of his Empoleon. These were familiar tides, a place of solace in the time before he'd defected from Team Rocket. It was difficult to keep his eyes open, water rushing at him head on while AQUA JET propelled himself and Mistral through the aquatic expanse. Even still, Rowan could sense something was wrong. [break][break]

A primal presence urged Rowan to direct the Empoleon to the surface, inhaling much needed oxygen once they'd breached the waves. "Kyogre?" He questioned quietly, a part of him hoping their presence meant the return of skyler dross. What would she say about him returning to Rocket, though?[break][break]

"ROWAN!" A familiar voice shouted over the din, causing the masked grunt to snap out of his worry and look in their direction. It was a disguise ruined, and the element of surprise spoiled, but he didn't blame Adrian. Something bad was about to happen and he wanted to be at their side for it.[break][break]

Climbing onto the shore, he stood next to Adrian, fingers interlacing with their own on one hand while the other pulled free the soaked mask from his face. "I'm here." A promise, one he'd never break again.
