It hadn't been that long since he logged into this game for the first time- but here he was in front of his first ever event item. "OOOOH, what's this? some sort of sword?" He would circle around the sword in the stone a few times before standing front to the sword, adjacent to the hilt. He thought about skipping out on trying to pull it up, since he was a fighter- he wouldn't even need it...but he also didn't really care actually, it looked kinda fun. "OK, Ok, I'll do it on the first go!" He'd wrap his palms around the sword and use all of his strength to pull...it...UP MOST LIKELY, POSSIBLY VERY LITTLE DOUBT IN HIS MIND THAT HE WOULD DO SO ON THE FIRST TRY...!!! AAAND...?? he comes back after he has died. "eleventh time's the charm," he mumbles, still knowing that the likelihood of him pulling the sword out of the stone is near zero. trying's free though, so he'll try this until he gets tired.

kyle walks up to the sword and stares at it. multiple players have also tried and failed the rng roll, and he's about to do it twice in a row. his hand holds the hilt of the sword, watching the ribbon wrap around his arm.

"here goes," he mutters to himself, hyping him up before he readies himself to reappear at the spawn.

his hand grips the handle of the sword before he attempts to pull it out.

Another day, another attempt to pull this damn sword from the stone. Rumors circulated that a lucky player managed to actually pull this famed weapon without finding themselves being sent back to the checkpoint with less than stellar health. Chancelor believed it he'd be next if these rumors were true, so he'd continue to come to this same location; day after day attempting to draw this fabled blade. So, similar to all his previous attempts, the female avatar goes for the sealed weapon yet again.

Now that he knew what the reward was for getting the blade, kingship, Rikiya had to wonder if the next person to pull the blade would get kingship, or if the souls absorbed had anything to do with the reward. But in any case, the reward of kingship was pretty sweet, and seeing it go to a notorious griefer would piss people off, which is what he lived for. He was going to get a crown by the end of this, he would vow to himself.

As it was his turn, Rikiya attempted to pull the blade from the stone.

each time she comes to close to pull the sword out, she fails.

each time katherine returns to this dumb quest, the honedge fails her and sends her to the respawn zone with nothing new in her inventory. she's left with regret and shame, and of course-- boiling anger. some of it is directed towards the game itself, but most of it is directed towards the false king himself. he stole sword from her, as far as she was concerned. and for that she intended to make him pay.

The last few times he had skipped maybe were good for him, but here he was, back again in this shit. Hoping that he would be the next one.
