Razz huffed as yet another duo of pokemon were coming out as Ranger feeling they were going to be a problem. Maybe they should try to be more quiet about their approach. Though based off the ambassador's words they might not get that. The only thing Razz could do was watch in amazement as Garchomp began to glow and change form leaving him in some awe. He has heard of Mega Evolution before but hes never had the opportunity to see it up close so it was definitely an interesting experience. With his story of coming from Kalos though he probably shouldn't be caught staring the way he was as from what he heard the Mega Evolution started there. [break][break]

After it showed up and easily took care of the smaller dragon Razz looked to the Corphish that had come out with it now looking terrified of the large purple dragon. It turned around looking as if it were to try and retreat but Razz didn't want it telling more, "Salem," he called signing a signal to which Salem's eyes turned blue as it used PSYCHIC to grab the ruffian pokemon and slam it down. Afterward the blue cat lightly tossed it down the perch they were standing on causing slight panic as he looked down just to see the pokemon roll down to another stable place now fully knocked out. "Was that necessary?" Razz grumbled as Salem waved it off in a 'it was fiiiine' manner. [break][break]

With a small sigh of annoyance aimed at his own pokemon he looked back to the other, "I suppose it would be a good chance to enter before more come, and that ends," he spoke up gesturing to Garchomp as while Razz never seen it up close, he knew it didn't last very long. And since the other was so adamant about going in he may as well keep going too. Returning Cobalt back to his pokeball Razz entered first grabbing his flash light like the handy dandy Ranger he was for when the natural light ended.

"Merow row!" Salem called out to the others showing off a small part of the cave with exposed geodes. Its eyes looking up to the two trainers to see if this could be something related to the light.

Damkina crawled rapidly on all fours and entered the cave, climbing along the side of its southern wall as it pursued the faint gleam of a geode afar. When the dragon climbed a little too close to an obscured nest, however, she managed to accidentally spook a Rufflet that had been lying dormant within. The mega-evolved beast hissed and leaped off the wall when the little bird had the gall to try and strike her with a peck.

Just as she was preparing to blast it, however, the baby bird stumbled out from the nest, tried in vain to fly, and hit the rocky ground below. With the avian stunned and exposed for the moment, Damkina saw nothing more than a tasty snack. She was robbed of this snack, however, when Remiel suddenly cast a luxury ball at it. The twin scythes she had swung downward embedded themselves into the ground where the Rufflet used to be. And between them the twitching ball Remiel had cast.

As he waited, the black-haired prince made a vocal observation to Razz. "Do you hear... water nearby? In the cave?"

Over kill, Razz couldn't help but think as the land shark pokemon just easily took down the bird, "So can that just turn on and off at will or do you have to wait it out?" he couldn't help but ask with this type of evolution still being new to him. Sure he's heard things but might as well ask to confirm if he had someone here with it. When questioned about the water he paused and attempted to listen hearing some rushing water, possible in cave waterfall? Wasn't entirely uncommon, and considering they were surrounded by the sea?[break][break]

Razz walked deeper into the cave as a large opening revealed itself, the odd thing it though was that it was bright? Walking further with the opening now clear there was looked to be a lake within the mountain. Under the water large crystals that gave light. "We might have found what we were looking for," he comments as he looks over the ledge to see that the cliff side was at an angle that one could slide down. Deciding to do just that Razz travels down to get a closer look. Though it seemed to be a theme now as a jet of water was now on his way at him. The ranger quickly jumping down into the pool to avoid a Sharpedo's LIQUIDATION. [break][break]

The Sharpedo dived right back into the water about to go after it's new prey if it weren't for Cobalt diving in right after and colliding into the water shark with METEOR MASH. With another punch Cobalt knocked the Sharpedo from the water and Razz quickly threw a pokeball at it knowing that it could be dangerous to leave it .

As they walked over to discover the source of the rushing water, Remiel explained. "Mega Evolution places a lot of strain on the physiology of a pokémon. It's best done within a short time limit. Pushing it any further than that could result in the death of the pokémon in question." Damkina, in the meantime, crawled across the cavern ceiling as she took the lead. She didn't seem any worse for wear yet. In fact, she was bursting with energy and vigor. "To put it simply: yes. It can be activated at will. All you require is the appropriate mega stone, its keystone, and a strong bond with your pokémon. But it is not something to be taken lightly."[break][break]

Just as he finished making his remark, as Sharpedo emerged from the crystalline lake they had stumbled upon. While Razz took care of it, however, Remiel and Damkina found an opponent of their own: a Starmie that had been resting upon the flat surface of a boulder on the lake's shore. When it began to brew a COSMIC POWER, the light within its gem glistening with such intensity that it filled the dark cave with the pattern of glowing stars, Damkina was quick to pounce off from the ceiling and attack with a speedy AERIAL ACE. The attack struck, and the Starmie's ability seemed to do nothing to lessen its damage.[break][break]

That being the case, Remiel was swift to withdraw an empty luxury ball from his pack and cast it. Starmie were known for their exemplary regenerative abilities, after all. That could serve him incredibly well on the field and in the lab.[break][break]

With the Sharpedo now securely inside the pokeball the ranger swam over to the edge, resting for a moment with his arms there. Was it possible to be tired of exploring already? he wondered before he felt something prodding his forehead. He looked up from where he was to see an Axew poking at him with a stick as if it were checking if he was alive. A little annoying but he didn't think too much of it as he grabbed the stick from it, "No." and with that it showed it's more skittish nature as it ended up running into one of the many tunnels of the island's belly. [break][break]

Looks like there were passive pokemon here too that didn't seem to interested in it's visitors. With a grunt Razz finally pulled himself out of the water, wring his clothes a bit to not feel so heavy. Razz looked up to where the other man was watching the tail end of his capturing something else. The guy was a large collector it seemed. "So what do you think of this?" he called up to him as he gestured to the bright lake, and more so to it's seemingly glowing geodes that decorated it's sides. Though whether this was the source of the eariler light he couldn't be sure.

In this state, Damkina shed most of (already short in supply) mercy she had in her heart and didn't hesitate when it came to what she believed to be a tasty snack. Therefore, when a small Piplup waddled out from the cave lake to greet her, it came to little surprise that she snatched up the bird with her mouth and tried to swallow it down in one gulp. The poor creature squawked and struggled helplessly against her. Just before she had the idea to grind the Piplup down with her teeth, however, Remiel intercepted. "Leave it be."[break][break]

A disappointed groan rumbled out of the Mega Garchomp's throat. The little morsel wasn't worth disobeying her master, however. So she conceded, and spat out the little penguin in front of him. As it stumbled onto both feet and shook off the saliva drenching its down coat, Remiel retrieved an empty luxury ball from his pack and tapped it against the Piplup's head. "Is that normal for them?" Razz found himself asking as he watched the attempt to eat the penguin pokemon, knowing that while Garchomp could be violent he wasn't sure if it was normal. Or if this could be a possible result of the Mega Evolution as another rumor hes read was that a pokemon's mindset could change due to the sudden power. He seemed disappointed but not surprised as he pondered trying to think how they should proceed. The whole thing was enough of a distraction for a wild Dracovish to come from the water and come up and attack Cobalt who was floating right above it. "Iron Defense!" Razz was quick to ordered as the dragon used SUPER FANG, though the order was too late as the pokemon already had his strong jaws biting down on the steel pokemon before throwing them on the land. [break][break]

The ranger quickly ran to it's side to try and be sure it was okay, though the water dragon didn't seem to be done as it jumped from the water to attack again. Cobalt pushes aside their trainer as it uses it's arms grab the jaw that attempt to chomp on it again. Though it's strong legs start to push Cobalt back at first clearly struggling, at least until it began to glow and grow much to Razz's surprise. With a stronger body and a new pair of arms the now Metagross uses Meteor Mash to punch it back, not wanting to deal with the fossil pokemon when it wakes up Razz throws a pokeball at it sighing in relief when caught. [break][break]

"Always a fun distraction, nice work buddy," he smiled at Cobalt to seemed pleased Salem floating to the top of it's head, amazed by his ride new look. Razz looked toward the water again seeing another tunnel there figuring that must have been where the dragon came from. "Looks like we have multiple options on where to keep going, one of these tunnels or," he points to the lake, "Down there, I doubt there is a good way of telling of what takes us deeper though, if going deeper is even the answer."

As Remiel was briefly distracted by the sight of an abomination in the cave, and wondering how on earth it had been revived then placed here, the negative effects of Mega Evolution were slowly starting to strain Damkina. As Razz began to wrap up the capture of the Dracovish, the black-haired royal returned to find his Mega Garchomp half-crouched on the floor in pain. Razz's words, for the time being, went over his head as he caught sight of a Mantine out of the corner of his eye as well.[break][break]

Sparing no moment to care for Damkina or tell her to finally shed the power of Mega Evolution, Remiel spoke. "Stone Edge. Now." Then, just as the curious Mantine attempted to dive back down into the cavern waters, it was cast upwards by a barrage of sharp stones that had been summoned from the lake floor. Weary-eyed and in pain, Damkina nonetheless smirked at the sight of the airborne (and now quite unconscious) Mantine. Remiel, in the meantime, drew out an empty luxury ball and cast it.[break][break]

"Let's follow the river into the tunnels." He finally answered, turning to meet Raz's gaze. "Perhaps the anomaly we're looking for is on the move..."[break][break]

Yet another pokemon and another capture by the Galarian Royal, Razz not saying anything to his attempts as it was a normal thing. Though he did catch the tail end of that fight and something seemed off about the Garchomp, but there was some distance between himself and the dragon so he couldn't really say what. For now he'd leave it be as he pondered his words for a moment. "On the move?" he repeats as if to fully process. Razz looks toward the river tunnels, "You believe it to be a pokemon then?" Admittedly the thought had crossed his mind but currently there was no proof of the possibility. [break][break]

Though he'd entertain the idea still as he heading for the tunnel in question. Pausing as he had to step over a seemingly lost Slowpoke who was making it's way to the lake to put it's tail in. Why he expected to find one there as the lake now seemed empty of life for the time being, but they weren't called slow for nothing. Beside him Salem rides atop of the newly evolved Cobalt as they hovered over the water to allow room for the humans to walk. Once more keeping an eye out for any other pokemon that would try to attack it's trainer. [break][break]

"So Mr. Calcifet, is your curiosity about the lights more from a scientific perspective?" Razz found himself asking as they walked curious to get to know the man he was escorting.

They had taken Mega Evolution one step further than they had taken it before, back when they'd been training in the royal draciary. So, when Damkina swiveled her head towards Remiel and asked for permission with her eyes, the black-haired prince nodded. The power fueling her evolution subsided and, in a brief and dim flash, Damkina's typical features returned. She was weary now, but not enough to part from her master just yet. So Remiel kept her around.[break][break]

"I don't know," He answered when Razz asked his first question, turning when he heard something crawl out of a hole and approach Damkina in a rush. A Zweilous had taken note of the Garchomp's weakened state, and had emerged to take advantage of it. "There's simply not enough to go on yet." The two-headed tyke tried to strike Damkina with a SLAM after it leapt off the ground. It missed, however, and was countered with an unforgiving DUAL CHOP from her scythes. When it tumbled upon the ground and crashed against the cave wall, Remiel tossed his ball. "It is my duty to investigate strange happenings and ancient legends." He said in response to Razz's second question, waiting for the captured Zweilous to submit to the luxury ball that had consumed it. "I do tend to approach these things in a scientific manner."[break][break]

His blue-grey eyes suddenly shift to the young trainer. "Are you from Hoenn? Or elsewhere? Here to take the league challenge, I presume."[break][break]
