Shiny Dracovish (Strong Jaw): Protect | Iron Head | Fishious Rend | Draco Meteor | Stomping Tantrum | Psychic Fangs

The abnormally large Dracovish, and abnormally colored at that, stomped around on the beach as it routinely bent down to scoop water into its mouth and gills. It had ferried its master over to this remote island all the way from Pacifidlog Town, and was very proud of the fact. But it cared not for the studies said master was undertaking here.

So, while it continued to play around on the beach and look for tasty clams to eat, Remiel approached a cliff face not too far from it and examined the mineral deposits within it. There were no obvious signs of what he was looking for. Perhaps he had been wasting his time. But he could at least spend the rest of the day exploring this foreign place.

Perhaps it would be worthwhile.

If there was one thing he didn't seem to mind to much about inheriting from his father was a curious mind. Waking up early for training and exploring the waters on top of Cobolt was all routine by now since he got the pokemon. However a strange light caught his eye earlier, and he had peaked the interest of his pokemon to check it out. Arriving on one of many remote islands Razz hopped off and returned his Metang to his pokeball while he planned to explore. Well at least that was until he spotted a very unusual pokemon. Taking out his phone he took a quick picture before his DexApp identified the pokemon for him, "Dracovish?" he questioned noting very well that this one was off colored as it didn't match what the App was showing. [break][break]

While it was definitely an odd site to see, nothing from the description lead him to believed it caused the lights he saw. Razz was about to move on, cause while interesting he had no plans for capturing such an ancient pokemon but Salem had other plans. As the blue cat jumped close it meowing and speaking in a pattern seeming like it wanted to challenge it, "That's enough now we're not going to try and catch it," Razz scolded his pokemon for the moment still not noticing the other as they were far to his literal blind side.

It was the cat's meow that alerted him to the presence of another human being on this otherwise deserted island. And he'd turned just in time to hear the lad dissuade said cat from catching his large Dracovish. "You might be in trouble if you tried," The stormy-eyed Galarian finally spoke out, snapping shut the journal he'd been writing in before sauntering over to the pair.

Stopping just a few feet away, then realizing his words may have been construed differently, he continued. "Mm, well, I don't mean to point out the obvious and say you'd be in trouble with me. Though I certainly would prefer you didn't initiate combat with my pokémon." He turned as he heard the telltale stomps of his abnormal beast approaching.

"Though an abomination by birth, Baal is a credit to his species, you see." He spoke plainly, setting his nonchalant eyes back on the boy. "Even I needed assistance from a gym leader to help capture him."

Though he was sure, with great difficulty, he would have succeeded anyway.

Salem was about to protest before he noticed the other trainer and pouted when they mentioned being in trouble. The cat pokemon only intended to build the team, as if it were up to his trainer alone he'd still only have just the two Meowstic. In Salem's totally unbiased opinion there should be more. Razz tensed up when he heard another though, slightly annoyed that he didn't noticed them before as he had to make a full turn to get a look at the other. And right away Razz's mind was in slight panic at the very idea that his pokemon wanted to engage in battle with someone else's pokemon to try and capture them. Damn it he was a ranger, not that the other knew, but it sure didn't look good.

Razz was quick to put his hands up and shake his head trying very hard to indicate that it wasn't not his intention in the slightest to do that. He'd use words but now he wad nervous and it was hard enough to speak to people let alone now that it seemed like he tried to capture this man's pokemon. He was a bit put off when the man called his pokemon an 'abomination' bit harsh there in his opinion but then seemed confused ask he seemed to speak about himself as if they were important.

The newbie ranger stared at him for a minute before it recognition happened. Not only did Salem want to battle and capture a trainer's pokemon but the trainer was the damn ambassador of Galar that was shown off at the Summer Festival. Razz seemed to find it harder to find words so Salem seemed to try and start him off as the psychic cat just waved his arm as nonchalantly as the stare the man had. The tone Meowstic gave off as he spoke made it seem like it was no big deal that he had done what he did and Razz swore that this cat was going to give him a heart attack as he quick to pick up his cat and covered his mouth.

"I... sorry don't listen to him, he tends to have an attitude," he finally found words as he quickly bowed his head in apology, "I swear had no intention of catch them, we just.... came for.... lights...." wow now that he said that out loud it sounded weird but at the current moment Razz was just trying to make sure he didn't cause trouble for the man.

The cat speaks once more and, though Remiel fails to interpret exactly what is being said, the whole dialogue to begin with proves to be wholeheartedly amusing. Even more so when the trainer scoops up the Meowstic and covers its mouth to stifle what can't even be understood in any real depth. Perhaps the situation required a bit more cooling off than Remiel had initially anticipated.

"It's quite alright; it was just a misunderstanding." He says with a slight smile at the corner of his lips— a practiced endeavor. At the mention of 'lights', however, his fake but convincing smile dissolves into a genuine expression of interest. "Lights, you say?" He starts, hoping the Dracovish that bent its head down to nudge the boy on his shoulder wasn't enough to distract from the inquiry completely.

"What kind of lights?"

Razz sighed in slight relief that the other wasn't to bothered, though it was clear he was still tense as Razz still wasn't good with people. Even worse this man was technically one with power and Razz didn't want to bother him. Though it seemed too late to leave now as he seemed interested in the lights he mentioned. Why did a simple question feel like an interrogation sometimes? It wasn't until the large fish pokemon nudged his shoulder did he seem to snap out of his own head a little, the cheery Meowstic in his arms moved to his shoulder to try to see if the giant pokemon would let it swipe playfully at it. Seeing him made Razz unconsciously relax as he focused again at the other. [break][break]

"Um well, it the lights seemed to be flowing out of the cave like they were dancing in a way, kinda of seemed like an aurora was coming out," he tried to describe at first, "Though it was pretty early in the morning, and my pokemon and I were pretty far," he tried to quickly knowing full well that all facts were needed and for all he knew the time and where he was at could even effect what he was seeing. Though now Razz wondered if he should have mentioned the lights at all as for all he knew it was some sort of pokemon thing, and if so he'd rather it stay a pokemon thing without people poking about. Though it was just the two of them so maybe not too bad?

After everything he'd seen in Hoenn so far, it was beyond belief that whatever this young man had seen could somehow be related to the very phenomena Remiel was investigating. So, as the black Dracovish blew a brief torrent of water out of its gills to breathe (or, perhaps, in response to the cat swiping at him), the young royal continued with his inquiry. "The cave here? On this island? Hmm." He wondered, turning to the large rock formation nearby but seeing no entrance.

"Do you mind guiding me there? If it isn't too much trouble." He asked after turning back to the lad, hoping he wouldn't instead find some seashore house where the questionable lad and his possible gang might attempt to rob him. Suddenly realizing they hadn't introduced themselves to each other yet, and deciding his name and title would sooner dissuade would-be thieves despite his slightly bookish demeanor, the young ambassador held out his free hand.

"My name is Remiel Calcifet. Forgive me for not saying so earlier."

Razz looked back to the large pokemon curious about the way it was breathing as he thought about the information of it being unable to breath out of water. Which seemed odd as it had the legs to walk on land just fine, but with this being such an old pokemon who knows if what the dex said was fully up to date. "Uhh I believe so," he mumbled his answer to the other still having some second doubts about giving the answer as he looked back at the ambassador still considering his options. The young man trying to think about the pokemon that lived here rather than the scientific interest, but in the end his own curiosity was getting the best of him. "I suppose so?" he answered with his oh so signature lack of confidence and broad vocabulary under pressure, good touch Razz, "Though the entrance could be tricky as not all of these islands have an easy opening, the islands here at times can only be entered from underwater caverns, this one no different," he informed the other as he tried to recall exactly where he saw the light come from. [break][break]

While Razz tried to think of where they could find the light he seemed confused at first before realizing, "Right introductions sorry, uuh Razz Kingsman," he quickly introduced himself awkwardly taking his hand to shake trying very hard to ignore how uncomfortable meeting new people had him feel. [break][break]

Just needed to keep on target, he thought to himself before he grabbed his pokeball and brought out his Metang once more, "I can take closer to the top of the island if you like to where the lights I saw most likely came from, do you have a pokemon that can help you up?" the ranger questioned figuring it would be safer to take that option as Metang wasn't really big enough to hold them both with ease, though Razz had other means to help the other up if he didn't.

Remiel quirked a brow. "So you believe the ocean's tide might have obscured the entrance then? But I assume you meant this happened earlier this morning, no? For the water level to shift so quickly... how baffling." As he continued to think about it, however, Remiel was snapped out of his thoughts by the lad's own introduction soon thereafter.

Razz... Kingsman? "That's a Galarian surname if I've ever seen one. Are you from there?" The prince of Hammerlocke inquired, already making a mental note of it to crack open Obscura's ancient text and see if this boy's lineage had any relation to it. Regardless, the lad soon suggested moving to the top of the island to get a better view and investigate the source of the light. Remiel nodded in agreement, reaching to his belt to unclip Baal's luxury ball all the while.

"Yes. You needn't worry about me," He answered, returning the giant Dracovish to its luxury ball before clipping it back to his belt and releasing another. Taking into account the specifics of this investigation, he figured Damkina was an appropriate choice for reconnaissance:

"Skrraa!"

The dragon swerved her head from left to right as she assessed her surroundings. When she finally caught sight of her master in a non-combative state, she relaxed with a low hum in her throat and sauntered over to him with oddly silent steps. Like a cat, Damkina bent down and rubbed the side of her head against his legs before doing a u-turn.

After emerging on the other side of him, the dragon planted herself on the ground before folding the fins on her body to enter a far more aerodynamic state of being. It was a practiced routine, and the harness already strapped to her back made it that much more obvious. Mounting his draconic steed soon after, Remiel met eyes with Razz once more before sharply nodding:

"Lead the way."

"No no nothing to do with the tides, I'm not sure if you've ever visited Sootopolis City but the only natural way of getting it would be from the underwater caves, some of the islands within this archipelago could be similar," Razz tried to make himself clear, and while Razz visited they islands often it wasn't like he knew everything about them. "Though if it really was from this island I saw there should be an opening up top" he looks to where he was positive he saw the lights coming from. At the questioning of his name Razz was quick to shake his head and hands, "Ah no I'm from Kalos actually originally, I'm afraid I don't know too much about Galar."[break][break]

Once introductions seemed to be done Razz watched the other bring out his dragon pokemon for riding, that was when he started feeling poking at the side of his head as Salem was meowing nonsence from his shoulder. If Razz had to guess it would either be about the saddle and how they should have one, or probably Salem scolding him for him not having a large arsenal of pokemon friends to choose from. "Uh-huh sure buddy," he waved him off pretending he understood his speech before placing the psychic cat on top Cobolt and kneeling on top of the steel pokemon. "Alright Cobalt head up to where we saw the lights," he asked his pokemon. [break][break]

With an affirmative noise the Metang levitated up and headed up the hillock. It took a bit as there didn't seem to be any opening before he knocked on his pokemon's head and pointed as there was a slim opening. Cobalt was quick to land after taking a moment to find a place that would be safe to let the humans off. "This should be it, thanks Cobalt," ht petted him in thanks for bringing him up as he waited for the other.

Razz's explanation might have left Remiel a bit more confused than intended, but he was quick to move on past it regardless. Whether or not the island had an entrance to its cave system underwater or aboveground, reaching its highest peak and investigating was their best bet anyway. It was certainly better than standing around on the beach and going through the semantics of it all.

Before long, the unlikely duo set off and ascended the side of the large rock atop their respective pokémon. Like a Wingull across the sea, Damkina flew as smoothly and quickly as ever before. Then, upon reaching a platform of even ground, landed gracefully on both feet before bowing down. Remiel hopped off her with ease, ready to inspect whatever Razz's Metang had found. He was, however, interrupted when a Buizel suddenly emerged from its hole in the side of the wall. It appeared irritated by their presence.

"I'll take care of this," Remiel spoke, taking the initiative and pointing at the otter. "Damkina, Stone Edge." And, in an instant, it was pelted by sharp stones the Garchomp had summoned from the ground. As it struggled to get back up and ready a Sonic Boom, the Galarian swiftly produced an empty ball from his belt and cast it. The Buizel mewled as it was captured.

Razz just stepped aside as the other offered to take out the target for now just standing aside while they choose to catch the wild Buizel. For a moment it seemed like that was the only problem until the battle cry of something else would be heard, "Iron Defense," the ranger was quick to order as Cobalt was covered in a white aura as it punched itself forward to take the hit of an Octazooka that was aimed at the group. From the entrance Razz was able to make out the bright red skin of the jet pokemon who looked just as irritated by their presence as the Buizel. "Ice Punch," he ordered and Cobalt leapt forward landing a clean hit at the pokemon knocking it back. Luck on their side as the punch manage to freeze the pokemon in place. [break][break]

"Seems like they're wanting to protect something here," was Razz's comment as he went to the entrance to get a better looked at the now frozen pokemon, once again he was second guessing himself about exploring. "Maybe we should just leave it be, we wouldn't want to disturb the pokemon right?" he attempted to dissuade the other, the young man very much not wanting to disturb these pokemon too much.
