Killian took the card and eyed it from between his fingers. A stylish solid grey and tastefully thick. The golden logos of Silph Co. and GMH sat dead center. Below, perfectly spaced and written in gold romalian type font was FERNANDO SILPH. When he looked at the card from the right angle, the gold almost seemed to shimmer.[break][break]

The perfect business card.[break][break]

He'd be jealous, but that would make him a little pyshco, wouldn't it? Something less mundane nudged Killian toward crazy. [break][break]

Blue eyes found the mist in moments. The cardboard in Killian's hands was all but forgotten the second misty terrain's sugary scent hit his nose. He frowned despite the yearning whelming up inside him. This could just be more teasing, and he'd grown tired of being toyed with. Killian shoved the business card into his pocket and looked up. [break][break]

"No, nothing but I'll have something for you later." he said, clearing his throat. [break][break]

Shattering glass and what sounds like panicked cries echo from behind the door. Killian glanced over his shoulder. Strange. What's going on out there? He hoped Lex was - "Shit." Killian scowled, ready to stab himself in the eye. Trying to hustle Fernando for mist, he'd let Alexandra Briarwood slip from his mind. [break][break]

Killian looked back to Fernando. [break][break]

"I've got someone waiting on me. Are you going to help me out or not?"

The midday sun beating down on his back, Killian peered at the construction workers below him. Teams of Conkeldurr, Excadrill, and Rhyperior worked tirelessly alongside their trainers to level the ground. Twenty-six thousand square feet of space flattened and cleared all so he could build a monument to sin. [break][break]

"Casino Starlight." Killian spoke the name as if talking to a lover, whispered and sultry, he practically purred. He'd been laying the groundwork for the casino since August. First, THEO BECKETT to ask about security and then Martín del Mar to secure funding. Now that construction had begun, there was only one thing left to do.[break][break]

Make an announcement. [break][break]

It's why he'd asked BARNABY FINCH to meet him—part of the reason anyway. A reporter for HNN and a Rocket, having Mr.Finch on his side would be valuable in general. [break][break]

The sound of footsteps from behind pulled Killian from his thoughts. He turned, smiling to greet the individual as they approached.

Killian did enough of that with the people he cared for already. And he did care for Lis in his own strange way. They were blood. While that meant little when it came to his father, the man who'd chosen to run, Lis wasn't him. She deserved a chance.[break][break]

"What do you mean, strangers? You already know more about me than anyone else in Hoenn." he smiled, a soft chuckle rocking his chest as the stream raised around him. The question silences his laugh, however. It's a tricky one to answer. He'd just told her he didn't want to lie, but how would she react if Killian told her the truth?

"I know a lot, Lis. I've been watching you for a while. All those customers that came in buying the same thing? Those were my people."

Standing out in the open with two Claydol beside him, Killian barely heard her approach over the sound of the golems shifting through the dirt. Lips pursed and wearing a sour expression that furrowed his dark brows, he sighed. [break][break]

Killian's blue orbs found their way to her. Her long hair was tied back into a ponytail and gave him a good view of her face. Scarlet-eyed and young, she didn't look much older than Lex. He knew it from somewhere too. Which only meant that he'd seen her file at some point since becoming an admin.[break][break]

"You were going to be, but I received some intel that sent me here." She needed no further explanation, and Killian wouldn't give one. He does offer a quick change of subject, however. [break][break]

His eyes found the Zarude as Bryan explained his plan. "Yeah, I'm aware of Zarude's power." he'd done his fair share of research on the rouge monkey. [break][break]

"Do you have a backup plan if this doesn't work out?" in his experience, it was good to have one.

Killian laughed and downed another drink. One more, and then he'd be ready to leave. He didn't want to get so wasted he couldn't see straight.

"Something told me you were a wine guy." Killian pegged Mars for a scotch drinker too, but only the wine was worth teasing him over. "Red or white?" he asked with a smile. As he waited for an answer, Killian poured himself another glass and nursed it between his hands.
