"I wish I could do more..." More than just being nice. More than just holding out hope for a hero that doesn't exist. She takes a deep breath, feels the dirt and grime crumbling between her fingers.[break][break]

Put those treacherous thoughts away. Right now, attempting anything would simply result in broken bones and most likely death.[break][break]

And yeah, perhaps she'll wake back up to a hellscape where Isaac Merlo bears horrible injuries and death awaits them all. But right now, she forces herself to explore all that she can with whatever little time she has left.[break][break]

Having already seen Hideo and Doug, there comes a realisation that either this or the prison situation must be one of those connected dreams. If so, whilst she still has free reign over where she may go, she has to find Reiner. At the very least, traces of him.[break][break]

Everything will be fine if she can just find him.

[attr="class","nikki109"]When one emerges from a situation relatively unscathed whilst others bear bruises and new injuries, what should she feel in the very moment? Despair at how many have been injured? Fear over the rough treatment of the rampaging ogre?[break][break]

"It's over..."[break][break]

No. In this very moment, all she can find is relief. Comfort in the way blood pulses upon her wrist, in how cold air pierces the lungs and the sour remnants of mangled body sit upon the tongue. Chilling water gnaws at her to her very bones, her eye trailing over towards Isaac Merlo and his state.[break][break]

They'd survived this time. New allies could be found in the Weakling ward, whereas the Ugly ward held terrible snakes. If Ogerpon here was truly a victim of the toxic chains too then perhaps, if they found a way to free her, they'd have a chance of escaping this prison themselves.[break][break]

Bide your time. That's all they can afford to do as the wardens reunite with them. Tight as her chains may be, they will not stop her from supporting Isaac's weight once more, as best as she can. But perhaps, as the doors slide on new beginning and ends, she looks back to the poor ogre left all alone in that room and wonders just how she can bear this.[break][break]

She's silent as they walk the corridors, listens to the chatter between prisoners both in front and behind but never cares to partake in it. A model prisoner in some eyes, a coward in others. All that matters to her is what she can do for Isaac, what she can see and piece together. Were she anymore adventurous, she'd probably dare to prod at them. Instead, she is left to wonder just what flows within those tubes. Tera shards? Dynergy? The blood of whatever the never-rot may be?[break][break]

Or perhaps, it is a giant toxic chain that has taken ahold of this facility. Closing her eyes for a brief moment, she wishes she could just drop to the floor and attempt to listen for whatever lays beneath their feet. Many thoughts cross her mind, but none will be as loud as the thought of releasing Ogerpon into these hallways. If they did, would she be able to tear all these to shreds? Would it be a good idea to let her do that?[break][break]

Stuck in her thoughts, she finds several names float to the surface like wavering bubbles. Fleeting worries that skim the surface before abruptly popping as she opens her eyes once more. They are back where they started, new clothes given and thought of as a blessing when compared to their cold, soaked ones.[break][break]

Try as she might to prepare herself for the dreariness of their cage once more, nothing will lift her spirits when she truly takes the time to examine Isaac's injuries. Settling him on the cot is no mean feat, but she will struggle all that she has to if it means he'll be comfortable.[break][break]

"Eat." When she reaches to take the mochi, she passes as many as Isaac may want to him. "You take the cot."[break][break]

It is not a request in the slightest. She plops right down by the foot of the bed.[break][break]

"Your ribs... It'll probably hurt to sleep lying down. So... I dunno, maybe you can sleep sitting up?"

She's the only one that can start piecing it together. For his sake and hers. Now that colours don't peel and meld together, she can see the shapes for what they are - Different structures short and tall, properly defined streets and doors. Windows that peer into strangely empty buildings -[break][break]

"It... looks like Lesser Megalopolis? But with way more lights." Where he desires information, she provides. And in turn, she finds whatever strength she can muster whilst having him close. This isn't a dream. This can't possibly be. He speaks too lucidly for him to simply be a part of her imagination.[break][break]

"Hideo." Her breath catches in her throat. Will she sound insane for asking him? But she has to know what exactly is real and what she's simply hallucinating. She has to know if there can be help from beyond the walls that she's been confined in.[break][break]

"Did you... are you also in a prison? With a mask you can't take off?"

This isn't a dream. This can't possibly be. Her dreams would never be this bright without Reiner by her side. Where have they taken her? Is this meant to be a new form of punishment?[break][break]

A step back, her breath hitches. She feels so unbearably small, so lost and uncertain in this strange city.[break][break]

What is she supposed to do here? Find where they've taken Isaac Merlo? Go around finding hidden tera crystals? What happens if she fails? Will they wind up smashing Reiner's pokeball like they did the other pokemon?[break][break]

No. No, nononono-[break][break]

Elga. A familiar voice, a familiar name and description. It is the only thing that anchors her in this moment, drags her just enough out of her spiralling thoughts to spy that ever familiar face.[break][break]

"Hideo?" Small steps, that slowly but surely grow into greater strides. "Hideo!" And she can't help but toss herself right at him, tackling him with the tightest hug.[break][break]

Her world grows stable. Her breathing slows. She can't stop shaking but she refuses to let go.[break][break]

"You're here..."

In the eyes of a pokemon, this Pichu that sits upon her shoulder in particular, a home that can be entered is simply another space that they are welcome to explore.[break][break]

Of course, being the responsible trainer that she is, Eris stops them from attempting to climb in through an open window. And of course, being a responsible and sane person, she instead decides to go by the front door and repeatedly ring the bell without the slightest hint of hesitance between each press.

Though Einar and Mesprit are a little slow on the uptake, they're bound to be fine as compared to a literal child that can barely tread water.

Rarely does he make such a twisted expression, the whites of his teeth peeking through as tension thrums through his body. And it really is such a rare occurrence that she nearly forgets what the cause might be.[break][break]

A voice from behind them, a rather sheepish trainer apologising profusely to Reiner, then to her.[break][break]

"Ah!" A small frown, she leans over to give Reiner a hug. "You okay, buddy?"[break][break]

Clearly not, the squint of his eyes accompanies the waving of his tail, as if that might help to shake out the sensation.[break][break]

"Hmm... What do you think, Reiner?" After all, the victim in this incident is him. And he's also probably the best at judging people and their motives. A side peek, a quiet huff as he weighs his options.[break][break]

"He'll probably forgive you if you buy him a hotdog."[break][break]

Reeling back, he gently punches her in the shoulder.

Just another happy incident lined up on her long list of tragedies, huh?[break][break]

The overexcitable way they approach her makes her freeze up, a whimper silenced by their overwhelming presence. Thankfully, Reiner is there to push himself between them, growling as he picks Eris up by the back of her collar, much like how a kitten gets carried by their parent. And he narrows his eye at the stranger, the air beginning to crackle with static.

For once, there is no Luxray there to chaperone the group. After all, he is far too busy stretching and lazing across the sunbaked deck. His tail slowly curls and unravels with each sway from left to right, then back. His breaths are deep, his eyes closed. But of course, he will always open that one eye to peek when he hears a soft giggle.[break][break]

By his side, Eris messes with strands of his mane, humming as she carefully braids it together.[break][break]

"Isaac and I moved into our new house! And I've planted a whole new garden... and I made a brand new secret base!" Busy is one way to describe her life thus far. "And then one time, I found Zekrom in a cave?? And I shared cookies with it! So I guess it's been pretty cool?"[break][break]

Ignoring the whole scary dragon that showed up to freeze Hoenn over and the fact that Rocket probably has a Calyrex that has aligned with them. And the numerous pokemon suddenly dynamaxing around the region... or the people getting possessed by toxic chains.[break][break]

"The caves are kinda dangerous, no?"[break][break]

In all technicality, that means she isn't supposed to be anywhere near them.[break][break]

"They looked pretty cool, I guess."
