In the midst of their "whacking," if that was what you'd want to call it, Summer's HISUIAN ZOROARK sauntered around the room, investing the blocks and toys. Hela, herself, decided to knock some over as well.[break][break]

It seemed that she was the lucky one, since a DITTO greeted her with a bland smile.[break][break]

Growling, the dog-like Pokemon tried to gain her master's attention. However, Summer was occupied throwing toys at Cain Toman, cursing at him until the bark caught her attention.[break][break]

"A DITTO. Good find, Hela."[break][break]

As she approached, however, the blob transformed into a hole into the ground. She spared Cain a momentary glance before approaching it, leaning over it and waving her hand down.[break][break]

"It's hollow. Should we go in?"

Summer could only climb the man so much. She was practically at the top of his head at that point. And still, he had a way to lift her up and threaten to throw her into the water.[break][break]

So she braced for impact, her body and muscles tightening. She waited for him to pick her up and her body to soar through the air...[break][break]

Only for her to feel Cain rest her on the edge of the pool. Opening her eyes and slowly relaxing, a red hue tinted her cheeks. "What are you... huh?" She was completely and truly dumbfounded.[break][break]

Shaking her head, Summer pulled her legs from the pool, walking to the chair. "I need a break..."

Summer watched the tree burn, placing her hands at her hips as the bark began to shed from the tree. She wondered if the Pokemon worshipping the tree would come to life as their monarch burned.[break][break]

Though her question went unanswered as total chaos erupted.[break][break]

The familiar sound of battle rang in her ears, sounds that echoed in her sleep. Galar rose in her mind, the twenty year period of chaos and suffering resurging around her.[break][break]

In the distance, she could spot a red bird watching.[break][break]

"Watch your back!" she called, commanding as though her title as queen had come back to her. SURTUR bellowed beside her, attacking at a wave of enemies charging forward.

Summer had spent many nights contemplating a message to Gunner Graves. After their meeting the day after arriving from Galar, she had found it harder and harder to focus on work. Any task sent out by team Rocket had run a chill down her spine and was accepted begrudgingly.[break][break]

But she had wondered, could she allow herself to escape and live a life of peace? Even after everything she had done for team Rocket?[break][break]

Summer's pause was long as her fingers played with the page of her novel, looking down but not taking in a single word. When she finally gained the courage, she spoke.[break][break]

"I wouldn't have reached out if I didn't want to. I want to do this, Mr. Graves."[break][break]

There was a pause.[break][break]

"Gunner. I'm willing to put my life on the line to correct my wrongs."

As the voices and pressure seemingly lifted off of Summer's body at once, she took in a gasping breath. Her eyes opened, and instead of darkness and a million trailing eyes, she was greeted with a magnificent tree standing in front of them.[break][break]

The Tree of Life.[break][break]

Even without its leaves and fruit, it still held a power that threatened to hold her in place. Summer snapped from her thoughts when BARNABY FINCH spoke again, taking a step forward with him.[break][break]

"That sounds like it was beautiful to see," she murmured, looking between the frozen Pokemon at its roots. And though it was tempting to see such a sight...[break][break]

Summer couldn't help but agree. An almost scoffing laugh erupted from her. "We are Rocket. We destroy to rebuild. I think it's only viable to see what this outcome may be."[break][break]

With a snap of her fingers, her EMBOAR stood at her side. And not a moment longer did his FLAMETHROWER ignite the tree into a blazing inferno.

Too late did Summer hear Cillian Quinn cry out, warning her not to touch the souls. But as her fingers grasp it, to hold it in her hand as compelled her to, a sudden surge overcame her body.[break][break]

Her face twisted into a broken, jagged grin, her body turning toward Gavin as he summoned the KLEFKI from his side. Hidden on her person, a dagger slid from her thigh, and she darted forward.[break][break]

"Another soul... we demand another soul... Cillian Quinn, join our ranks!" the voice whispered from Summer's lips as she lifted her arm up, propelling it downward with force to attempt to stab him in the throat.

Ever Grande City was far from a foreign place to Summer. But stepping foot on the path leading to the library enhanced her senses as she climbed the steps. There was paranoia gnawing at her gut, walking past the security point and giving a courteous "hello," to the library staff.[break][break]

Her footsteps were soft, notably so, as she browsed the books for a brief moment only to pull a random romance novel off the shelf for appearance's sake. With the spine tucked into her arm, she made her way to the table she was instructed to meet him at.[break][break]

"By the window? Or by the nonfiction novels?" Summer muttered to herself, scanning around the area until his familiar head of hair caught her gaze.[break][break]

Among other people, scattered about.[break][break]

With her lips pressed in a firm line, Summer came and sat across from him, crossing her legs as she attempted to get comfortable. Even Gunner Graves's words seemed foreign to her.[break][break]

"Of course," she offered, though her gaze didn't meet his and instead fell on her book as she set it on the table. "Let's get started."

Her body was filled with a power, to see a vision that had occurred. She saw ETERNATUS and she saw DEOXYS. They clashed, and the skeletal creature's body fell down, down, down...[break][break]

When she came back to reality, a panic set in over her. She noticed that the other individuals around them were screaming, running in the tomb and grabbing the hair in manic states.[break][break]

Summer's thought was cut off as the darkness seemed to swarm her all at once. She didn't know where her friend had gone, and the light of his flashlight had disappeared.[break][break]

There was just black everywhere.[break][break]

Until the eyes appeared around her, peering at her from every angle she could imagine. Summer couldn't move from her spot on the wall, no matter how hard she tried.[break][break]

"Please, let me go. Let me go..." she begged internally.[break][break]

Until her own voice disappeared, replaced by their own.

Summer let out a surprised noise as he took her drink, sipping from her straw before handing it back to her. She laughed, shaking her head at him before drinking after him. All while raising her eyebrows.[break][break]

"If you wanted to kiss me, just kiss me, Cade," she said bluntly with a challenge in her eyes.[break][break]

Instead, she set the drink down, turning her attention fully to him. "Good. We can grab dinner and go back to my place after this too," Summer said, phrasing it like a suggestion.[break][break]

In reality, she was demanding his attention. She craved it.[break][break]

Watching him for a moment, a wry grin crawled on her lips as he pulled out the tube of sunscreen. She stood from her chair, going to lay out a towel so she could lay down for him to get to her back.[break][break]
