Johanna was strolling down the path alongside a tiny shadowy Pokémon.

Clothes of black, and long blue braided hair. Her peculiar looks were sure to draw attention. Perhaps more so than the Marshadow by her side.

From time to time the Pokemon would leap from the ground and onto the roof of a nearby building, scouting ahead for a moment before joining its trainer once more.

“Did you see them?”

It shook its head.

“I wonder where they could be –” Before she could say any more, the rustling sound of a trash-can and the loud cursing alerted her. “Oh perhaps that is the person we are looking for!”

Both Pokémon and trainer quickly ran toward the sound and once the situation came into view she’d hurriedly ask. “Is everything alright here?”

“Yeah definitely.” She said, as she slowly began to realize the alcohol was getting to her.

Wait what was the clock? She downed her drink, reached for her phone and watched the timer reveal the mysteries of time to her.

It was getting far too late.

“Welp, it was fun. But I should get going.” And with that she took her leave.

If only Ruby knew how much her words hurt. Perhaps the faint glimmer in her eyes might betray the facade she tried to keep up.

“He did? Well, I suppose I need to have a talk with him.” She tried to keep the casual facade going strong. Yet she couldn’t help but reveal a bit of sadness in her eyes.

Johanna didn’t know how to approach Ruby’s emotions. Could she even do so without stompign on Ruby’s emotional-toes?

In the end she figured being blunt might be the only way forward. “Anyhow, do you feel better now?” Johanna asked matter-of-factly. What else could she say? Johanna wasn’t blind to how it would look, but she figured the good that her themepark and the Gym brought to the people of Hoenn far outweighed anything else.

LOCATION: Ever Grande City - Joyland

A small chuckle was elicited by Isaac’s response. It was a fair point, Pokémon training wasn’t exactly without its fair share of dangers. But that was neither here nor there.

She picked the Lechonk up, cradling it safely in her arms. The It made some happy grunts as it did, then smiled at Isaac

By the time her attention returned to Isaac, she heard his compliments. Another chuckle escaped her, this time with a mild hint of nervousness to it alongside a blush.

“Yeah it really has.” She paused. “Surprisingly so.” followed in a mumble.

An Oink escaped the Lechonk as a strand of long blue hair caught its attention.

Speaking of things catching the attention. A Crawdaunt was approaching, lured by the smell of Lechonk. Luckily Johanna’s Aegislash hated being idle, and so flew into action as soon as the predatory Pokémon came into view. With a Sacred Sword slash leading into a follow up Brutal Swing, and a Shadow Claw for good measure, finalized the Crawdaunts defeat.

“Oh?” Johanna asked. “What have you figured out so far?” She asked curiosity and concern mixed equally well. If she didn’t know better it almost sounded like Isaac was beginning to have doubts…



OOC: Capturing Crawdaunt

A bunch of hooligans Poliwraths had taken to BOXING down Shoal cave and its inhabitants.

While it was far out of Johanna’s territory, she would nevertheless offer her aid. Joining countless other trainers in the endeavor, she would challenge any and aggressive Aquatic Boxers.

For once Marshadow helped along, rejoicing in the opportunity to fight another martial artists.

And when the opportunity showed itself, Johanna would even attempt to catch one of the Swarming pokemon.

The plan worked about as well as any improvised plan could.

Johanna made her escape, helped along by a Primarina with ideas of superheroism.

And so they all ran, and ran until they reached a forked path. Johanna knew they had to make a choice quickly, she had an inclination that their new ‘friends’ wouldn’t be far behind.

And so she decided to trust Nikita’s judgment. “Alright, left it is then.”

She would glance to Ettie and Nikita, letting them go first unless the primarina had other ideas.

Lucario’s speed brought him to the Inteleon quickly enough. But alas with speed came tunnel vision. And so Lucario met with the sucker punch, grimacing as he came to an abrupt halt. Lucario wasn’t even sure if he had managed to knock the other Pokémon down.

And unfortunately he wasn’t even about to find out as the Pikachu was quick to send a Thunderbolt his way.

But unlike Lucario, the Aegislash hadn’t lost sight of the battlefield. It rushed in-between the incoming Thunderbolt and the Lucario. KING’S SHIELD held high as it deflected the attack, spreading the lightning in all directions for a moment.

Lucario was quick to give an appreciative coo, before it refocused on his opponents. Aegislash however just gave a sigh. It didn’t like being on the defense.

Anyhow, they couldn’t keep just being defensive. Lucario had a plan. It watched the Pikachu as the Thunderbolt ran its course, preparing itself to COPYCAT it. The moment the King’s Shield was lowered. Lucario brimmed with electricity as it sent the copied THUNDERBOLT at the Inteleon.

The Teamwork between Mankey and Trevenant was clearly formidable. Seeing how the Trevenant used its own body to protect its teammate.

It was the Chef's kiss honestly. Johanna would’ve considered just handing over the badge right then and there. But that would be to stomp upon Cian’s pride as a Gym Leader. No, he would have to work for it a bit longer.

Mankey found its way behind the PROTECT lines, Night Slash cutting down upon the Dragapult. It grimaced in pain as it would turn to its new opponent. A Blue ish aura gathered around it, accentuating its draconic features as it leaped at the Mankey in a DRAGON RUSH.

Meanwhile Aegislash clad it’s edges in a dark almost purple hue, before it swung at the Trevenant with its SHADOW CLAW.

Summoning great power required a lot of effort, especially so for Snorlax. It felt his body aching for a moment's respite. But Ikarus rightfully didn’t grant it.

A Dark Pulse hit the Snorlax right in his blubbering stomach, the fat jiggling for an almost comical amount of time as the Snorlax tried to stay standing.

But Snorlax fell. Knocked out. Johanna was quick to recall the Snorlax, she wasn’t surprised that it was over so quickly for Snorlax. It was the crux of battles after all, that though time felt eternal, it could be over quickly, especially.

But this battle hadn’t been lost yet. Tinkaton was still there.

Speaking off.

The Earth Power washed over the battlefield. Certain to hit the charging Pokémon if it didn’t do something. Luckily Tinkaton was better at dodging than her teammate. She slammed her heavy hammer into the ground using its force to send itself and its hammer flying into the air at her intended target. Another DRAINING KISS smack at the ready for when she’d get close enough..

Yes for this battle, she truly was a one-hit wonder.

Sea Salt… What sort of Desert could she make with that?

Almost lost in thought she pondered the question. But came up woefully lacking. Luckily Isaac the Bewear was helpful as ever.

It grumbled and growled its Bewear speech, as it formed little ‘cookies’ in the air.

Johanna’s eyes widened in surprise. “Oh that is right, we can do that!” She smiled, and gave the Bewear a great big hug for help. “Thank you.”

And then she went to work. She turned on the oven to preheat it, while she mixed all the ingredients into the cookie batter, which she then formed into what would hopefully become the creamy Dark Chocolate chip cookies.

She placed it on the Baking sheet and baked for a quick moment of 9 minutes before she took them out and sprinkled them all with proper dosage of Sea Salt, before putting them on a wire rack for proper cooling.

Johanna listened to the answer given.

Mismagius was a good choice.

And as she pondered the Chattot’ed question. The Litwick joined them and Dolores raised a valid concern.

She was about to shake her head, but then remembered the ghost that now sat there. “I am not. If it wanted to wax my head, it would’ve surely done so already.” She stated.

Litwick made a reassuring gesture with its wax-hand.

“As for the question. I am partial to Mimikyu. It was my first ghost type Pokémon after all.”

Gengar seemed a bit disappointed, but he understood the reasoning well enough.

But before any more could be said, the rustling leaves announced the appearance of another Pokémon.

An oddly colored Ralts made its way through giving them all a MEAN LOOK as it tried to scare them off of what it perceived as its territory.

Unfortunately for it, it didn’t look mean at all. But in fact rather cute as it growled.

Litwicked sensed movement abounded in the head it sat on, and so began to float, just in time as Johanna kneeled down and D’aww’ed at the ferocious little fighter.

“Don’t you worry little one. We aren’t here to cause trouble.” Johanna gave the Shiny Ralts a head-pat. And almost as if it could sense the goodness in her heart, it mellowed out and dropped its MEAN LOOK.

And the very convincing glare Gengar sent probably helped as well.

Both trainer and Pokémon saw Megan approaching.

A sigh of relief escaped the Blastoise, they could finally get a move on.

As Megan came closer, Johanna beamed her a huge enthusiastic smile.

“Hi Megan!” Johanna would say, making no attempts at hiding how pleased this made her.

The Blastoise just visibly itched to get a move on. Chitter chatter could wait!
