As Hoenn's Head Ranger, it's no surprise that much of Ollie's time is spent with and thinking about the Ranger populace. Ever since he stumbled into his fateful Ranger gear alongside then-newbie Laurence Anderson, he'd felt like he'd found his calling. This shows in the friendships that he holds with other Rangers, including his continued friendship with Yuina Higashi as seen in SHINZOKU. In the thread, he encourages her to trust in the League while also chasing the clues of her past, hoping that his belief in the League will be enough to keep her afloat.

[break][break] In CARRY ON, WAYWORD SON with Remiel Calcifet and PENELOPE LIVY, Ollie's attempts at pushing fellow Ranger Remiel Calcifet forward come to light. The ex-Rocket finally gets admittance to AQUA, hopefully shedding some of the bad blood from his past regrets. In a HEAD COUNT, he and Thomas Benoit realize that several Leaguers — Rangers especially — go missing over the course of a few days.

[break][break] Even when it comes to programs outside of the Rangers, Ollie lends his support and endless enthusiasm. He works on POKEMON HOME with Melody Miro, going forth to rehabilitate injured or abandoned pokemon, faithfully believing in the League's potential to secure a safe haven for those in need.

[break][break] As Head Ranger, part of his job is also to support the Amnesty Program. Unfortunately, this comes with much strife as many of his friends such as annalise henderson, paxton concordas and his not-girlfriend PENELOPE LIVY contest it. A conversation with Laurence Anderson from FREE TIME encourages Ollie to reach out to Councilman FERNANDO SILPH to bolster funding for the Amnesty Program, but discovers that it's not as simple as doing the right thing. Across discussions with annalise henderson, Greyson Connors, and Noel Parker, Ollie encounters even more resistance, realizing not everyone shares his enthusiasm.

[break][break] Ollie's dedication to the Rangers now confronts a daunting wall: does he choose his Rangers or his friends? Is his loyalty and dedication enough to toss aside years of friendships? Or does he believe in the Amnesty Program - and more importantly, Caleb Harcourt - to climb over those obstacles?

II. RISING TO THE CHALLENGE [break][break]

Since the beginning, Ollie's character arc has been positioned to be opposite that of Eva Morales. While his sister embraces the role of protector of all that is good in the world, willing to sacrifice herself for the League's cause, Ollie has spent much of his life fleeing from responsibility and difficulty.

[break][break] He runs from commitment and avoids anything that might thrust him into a position of power or strength, lacking belief in his ability to handle it. To want to handle it.

[break][break] It's only when dahlia goode chooses him for Head Ranger, a mantle that PENELOPE LIVY had always thought him suited for, that things begin to change. Alongside PENELOPE LIVY, Gunner Graves and paxton concordas, Ollie faces one conflict after another. The fight at Dewford. The excursions into Area Zero. One by one, each encounter chips away at his reluctance until he's forced to confront Hoenn's greatest strength and vulnerability: Avatarship.

[break][break] Ollie's indifference to Legendaries and Avatarship has always been clear. He tells lam logan as much during their encounter with TAPU KOKO in WHERE THE SKY HANGS and with Josh Devlin in ASHES TO ASHES. As shown in REVENANT, witnessing Chi-yu erode PENELOPE LIVY fills him with such concern that he ignores the problem, even it means self-immolation.

[break][break] He wants to ignore it, like he ignores everything else. But he can't. Because tensions are rising, fights are escalating, and war is coming.

[break][break] In both PRIMEVAL and it's follow-up threads, alongside
SCIAMACHY, Ollie faces terrifying beasts in battle — the kind of conflict that's meant to change one's world view. He knows that it'll change the tide of battle for League and Rocket, whenever they come to it. It's why he and annalise henderson go cataloguing the whereabouts of Kyogre in OVERFLOW.
