She smiled at the compliment. "Of course! The damsel still has brains, despite her horrid dodging skills." She watched how the Oinkologne was steadily calming down; the Wish Camille had cast was one that, after a slight delay, started healing the harm it had been caused. She could see the confusion on its face, and then how it relaxed in its binds. Enough for Galayne to lower herself and carefully crouch closer to it, trying not to startle it or look like a threat. It looked at the human warily, but as its binds came undone, sprung up and away from them. It was still guarded, but did not attack, instead letting the two little piglet Lechonks hide behind her.

"I'm sorry, little one. We didn't mean to hurt you." she muttered softly, standing up and stepping back again, to Mireille's side. Just in case the Oinkologne changed its mind about a peaceful retreat, or something else came for them.

"Of all the fantastical 'summoned to another world' stories, a kingdom of steel wasn't among them." Galayne grumbled, only half so disappointed that the stories in her favorite books had lied about places like this. Truthfully, she was flabbergasted at the sight, hopeful about the prospects of her own little story; until she remembered. Rather than being summoned she'd just tripped and fallen into this strange realm. Instead of soft grass, cold metal had broken her fall-- and her dignity.

Least they could've done was poured some concrete.

Whomever 'they' were that had build this mechanical kingdom. It was strange though; because she seemed to recognise some of the structures in the distance, as if they were castles if you just bothered to look at them from a certain perspective. Odd, cog-wheeled castles. Maybe she should've taken up some of those mechanic lessons the firefighters had invited her for after all.

Much to her surprise, the path before her seems to hold no obstacles. She did swear having seen a handful of mechanical pokémon earlier, but they, together with the sound betraying their positions, had vanished, which made her exploration that much easier. Camille had settled into her hair again and watched their rear, while Galayne decided on following the path leading away from the spot she'd just appeared at--- unaware that she was walking straight into a group of other people facing an oversized, mechanical Corviknight.

After a moment of perpatual gawking at the mecha-bird, Camille bapped her head and kindly pointed out that she wasn't alone. Something the others promptly added to by shouting at one another; one about running away now the Corviknight was pissed, the other about an arbalest. She could hear them, but her instincts had already forced her to duck and take cover-- not from the giant bird, but from the Blaziken who'd kicked flames at it.

There was panic bubbling in her chest, like the subtle drumming of her heartbeat that was picking up in a most irregular pace. She tried to correct her breathing as it grew more ragged, but she felt it did little no matter how hard she tried. "Shit, why now- it wasn't even close!" she growled softly, looking at the Flabébé on her head. If that Corviknight came her way, they'd be screwed. "K-keep a lookout for the bird, Camille... and for fire." she gasped softly, leaning closer against the broken iron bell functioning as her cover.

"Coumarine and Kiloude are amazing hotspots to visit, truly. Especially the view on the trainrides there; I've traveled those dozens of times, but they never cease to amaze me!" she smiled, fondly recalling the memories of said travels.

From beyond the steam she could hear the happy chittering of Camille, who was now happily floating her way to perch upon the Kalosian's head. She wondered what the little one had been up to, but it did not seem like any mischief this time around, so she could find out later. Instead, when Gunner introduced himself, she did the same thing-- although she purposely excluded her last name. Not quite sure what to do with it. But the fewer people knew she was in Hoenn, the better.

"Enchanté, Gunner," she inclined her head in something akin to a bow. "I'm Galayne, or Lena, if you so wish. Whichever you prefer."

"Though, on another note, if you ever get the chance to travel to Kalos again, I highly suggest visiting Anistar or Couriway. It might be a bit out of the way, but it's definitely worth it."

Galayne had heard the stories about the Draconid shrine in Hoenn, just as much as any other person, and her curiosity had been boundless enough to come and check things out for herself. It would have been a waste had she not, especially now she was upon Hoennian soil. Gods know how long that privilege would last, and for that same reason she decided to better make the most of it.

And who knows, perhaps she could get some sight-seeing done at the same time!

Camille, her Flabébé, seemed all the more eager, and after having received the Draconids blessing was none the wiser on what exactly she was blessed with. She just ended up making silly karate-esque moves on the railings and any protruding rock in her vicinity, keeping her trainer entertained while they investigated the shrine's surroundings.

"I think I might have an idea, yes," she replied, watching Camille float back down towards her now someone was shielding them. Of all the pokémon in her team, Camille might be the best chance at the plan she had in mind, especially if not hurting them was the option they'd be going for. "Though it'd be more akin to restraining than calming... either way, I'm ready when you are."

This situation was exactly how she'd imagined a bonafide knight would react. Only harm when there's no other way, and try to resolve the conflict as peacefully as possible. So if she could help with that, she'd do everything she could to make it a reality. And afterwards, she'd just bombard the knight with questions; within the Kalosian's readied self was a fangirl screaming ever so silently.

When Mireille did her thing, Galayne would toss her Flabébé over them. "Camille, use Vine Whip on their legs and try to restrain them!" Rather than using it as an actual whip, Camille would toss them like a lasso, entangling both its front legs, and following up with another Vine Whip for its hind legs. "Now use Wish!" With the Oinkologne hopefully remaining restrained, the Flabébé got closer and gently touched its forehead with her blue flower, waiting for Wish to take effect.

Despite her sudden arrival, she'd been glad the Kalosian Embassy had agreed on keeping her appearance and subsequent stay in Hoenn a secret from her father, and by extension the rest of her family. Honestly, she'd have fully understood had they worked against her; her family was not one to be trifled with after all, but she'd seen the look on the receptionists's face when she'd explained her predicament. They'd comply, only because she had worded it rather eloquently;

They didn't have to deny her presence being in Hoenn, but only if they were directly asked as such. She could at least demand that much of the Embassy.

What she had not expected however was how quickly Remiel Calcifet had found out. Although she was only half surprised by his reaching out, and the offer to help create an alibi proper at Hammerlocke University. Galayne would've thought that after their break-up -and moreso the way she'd done so- the Galarian prince would've wanted little to do with her. She knew well how her words would've hurted. But he'd been every inch the gentleman she'd remembered him to be, so when he invited her to dinner as well she felt little to decline the offer.

Fortree City's Cedar Moon was nothing short of breathtaking. She'd just taken a moment to gaze at the magnificant restaurant from the outside, Camille, her Flabébé, had perched itself and its blue flower in her hair and was curiously regarding the city and people around them. But no matter how amazing the view was, she did not wish to keep the prince waiting. A waiter swiftly guided her up the stairs to one of the balconies, leaving her be after politely gesturing at the reserved table from a short distance.

Galayne was lucky that the Galarian Prince was gazing away from her when she arrived, allowing her a moment to herself, and to quickly adjust her dress a bit. Somehow meeting after all this time still made her a bit nervous. Camille gently patted the young noble, who smiled softly and nodded.

Yes, she was fine.

This was fine.

"Remiel," she gently called out his name, making a polite curtsey when he looked her way. "Or should I say 'Your Highness' now?" Although her voice was sincere, the subtle teasing smile on her lips told another story, trying to make out how she was expected to act around her ex.

The rest went faster than she managed to perceive.

First she was left to stare at the incoming Oinkologne's charge, bracing herself for the impact as she closed her eyes and tried to protect her face. The next a dull bonk resonated, and a shadow loomed over her-- yet no impact or pain followed. Instead a kind voice asking her if she was alright.

"Milady."


Galayne blinked, eyes peering up at the face beyond the outstretched hand. There'd been a slight panic at that word, worrying her father had found out she wasn't in Galar and had someone to come and fetch her. But the blonde woman in front of her was someone she didn't recognise; unless she'd stepped straight out of one of her favorite romance novels in the way she carried herself. A loyal Aegislash at her side, shielding the damsel in distress.

It took her a moment to realise she was just staring a tad bit too long before taking hold of the extended hand, and nodded softly as she was pulled back unto her feet. "I am now, thanks to you," she replied, only slightly anxiously looking behind the lady knight to see what had become of the Oinkologne. "Though I think the Oinkologne isn't all too happy with that."

At least he was kind enough to reassure her, even if she'd still remain somewhat flustered about it. Though she could blame the flush on her cheeks on the hot water in a few minutes, and just pretend all was well and innocent.

The curtain of steam obscuring quite a bit of the bath's guests was something she'd be thankful for later. Not because she was shy about showing some skin, but moreso for the way it hid the Typhlosion from her sight-- the fire pokémon having gone unnoticed to the Kalosian. Maybe for the best; because her Flabébé had picked up on its scent, but didn't go over to check on it solely because of its trainer's fear.

So instead, Camille went to annoy the blonde man addressing its trainer, floating over to shamelessly poke the man's arm with her flower.

Galayne on the other hand was none the wiser of Camille's intentions. "Heh, it was," she smiled sheepishly, turning towards Gunner. "You heard part of Anistar's infamous local vocabulaire... which uh, I wasn't meaning to share with the public." she muttered the latter, waving her arms underneath the surface. "Where in Kalos have you visited, if I might ask?"

“You there, watch out, behind you!”

The Lechonks' eyes lit up as they saw the Oinkologne bulldozing its way towards them; or more precisely, the one fighting them. In the same way Galayne's eyes read shock as she realised too late what was heading towards her; and she wouldn't be able to react properly at all, safe for slamming herself into the sand once more to avoid its charge. Camille, no matter how much she'd wanted to, couldn't stop the Oinkologne either and floated upwards, out of its reach.

Despite the evolved pig's size it had surprising traction in the sand, making a rough turn and kicking up sand in the process. With a loud squeal it readied itself again, digging its hooves in the sand before charging at the downed Kalosian once again. And this time, there was no way she'd be getting ouot of its way in time.

Entirely unaware of the impending pig-formed doom rushing her way, Galayne's focus was still fully invested on scanning the beach for other people. So much even that they'd already gotten too close for her to pull out a pokéball, prompting her to dive out of the way instead. Crawling back unto her feet while the duo of Lechonks turned around -the sea, on second thought, did not seem like a proper escape route- she had little choice but to face off with the mad balls of bacon.

Yet their fear for another ghost-type was met with a small blue-flowered Flabébé jumping out in front of them, fearlessly scowling at the Lechonks. They seemed confused at first, but quickly regained their pre-conceived notion that perhaps this human would still draw her own scary ghost sword, like the other one had.

"Camille, Vine Whip!" The Kalosian ordered, trying to whack the remaining sand off her shirt.

A well-aimed whip smacked into one of the Lechonks, keeping it from advancing, while Camille smirked rather deviously and cracked the small vine with its free hand, acting like it was a lion tamer.

A voice broke through the silence mere moments after it had fallen, seemingly coming from the neighboring room giving way to the main bath.

"Camille, no- don't you dare!"

What followed was faint noises of something being kicked over, some muttering one keen of hearing would make out to be a surprisingly colorful variety of Kalosian swear words, and the happy chittering of a Flabébé rushing outside towards the water. Inside, Galayne looked rather disgruntled, quickly trying to clean the mini-mess her floral partner had made of a stack of plastic cups, and the tiny wooden seat she'd nearly tripped over trying to stop her.

Not quite how she'd expected to start the new year, but at least she was positively certain there was no-one else nearby. Or so the Kalosian thought, until she entered the outdoor hotsprings, looking straight at the blonde man enjoying the water. Camille, Galayne's Flabébé, triumphantly hopped around on her blue flower, while her owner turned beet-red and quickly scurried over to the edge of the bath with her towel, muttering an apologetic "Imsorryyouhadtohearthat, thatwasunbecoming." before sliding into the water.

She was never prepared for half the shit she went through, but she got through it.

She always will.

Galayne Audrey Valois, firstborn daughter of the Valois family, lords of the Anistar Duchy.

That's how most of Kalos knows her now; the spoilt daughter of the Kalos Railway Corporation's chairman, Duke Alexandre Valois. Once however, she was seen as a blessed child; all due to the sightings of a Celebi in Anistar City on the day of her birth. How the elders mused about the Mythical pokémon having touched the duke's child and bestowed its blessings upon her. Although Galayne vaguely remembers having played with a pokémon that fit its descriptions when she was still a toddler, she knows better than to believe old wives' tale regarding its blessings.

After all, if it had truly blessed her, she would've had a better life than this.


Although she spent most of her youth being a happy and crappily spoilt little runt, she knew well how to behave herself when necessary, like she knew how to manipulate others into doing her bidding also. A considerable chunk of that childhood was spent with Amor Rose, until she was sent abroad to continue her studies at Hammerlocke University; here she met a most charming Galarian prince, who against all odds seemed to compliment her more than she had bargained for. Their fairytale story would not last however, but its ending was one the tabloids feasted on for months. In hindsight, Galayne admitted breaking up with Remiel Calcifet on the day of his graduation was kind of a dick move. But at that time, she believed he had fully deserved it.

Yet karma did not seem all that far behind in returning her the favor. Shortly after her 20th birthday Galayne was kidnapped and locked away in an abandoned warehouse near Motostoke; the negotiations went on for over a week, police unable to find the whereabouts of the young Valois or her abductors. In the time she was taken a wild Flabébé kept her company, the small pokémon having tried to free her, but lacking the strength to do so. When authorities finally located her, special forces infiltrated the warehouse, but during the resulting fighting with her abductors accidentally caused a fire, resulting in several large explosions in the building. Galayne used the scraps and debris to free herself, but in trying to save the Flabébé from the fire fell through the unstable flooring and got trapped in a basement floor, with no way out.

They could not reach her until the next morning, having had to douse the flames on the upper floors and strengthen the warehouse's foundations, since it was too dangerous for the fire-fighters to keep on searching. Although intoxicated by the smoke, she and the Flabébé were left as good as unharmed. Some would end up saying her survival was nothing short of a miracle, but ever since the young Valois has never been the same. After her retrieval she immediately returned to Kalos, remaining with her family to work through the trauma. She's extremely bad with fire pokémon, smoke, and the move Smokescreen in particular. Explosions or anything of the same kind seem to trigger heavy panic attacks.

But to many's surprise, Galayne's mind is a tenacious one. Ever since the incident, she's changed and become kinder, her haughty demeanor nothing more than a protective farce. Secondly, and espite her subsequent issues originating from the incident, the young woman has developed an adoration for firefighters and their line of work. She often does volunteer work with the local fire brigade, under the guise of learning to overcome her fears regarding fire and fire pokémon; the only way her father will allow her to do such menial labor. In her latest rebelious streak, she has managed to convince her father to allow her to continue her halted studies at Hammerlocke University. But rather than heading back to Galar, turned to Hoenn, having arrived shortly after the events of Meteno.

Her intentions? To become a full-fledged firefighter before her father finds out she's been ditching school and noble etiquette altogether.
