Listening to what the older rocket had to say, they nodded. While it was true they sometimes did that, it was more to have their opponents let their guard down. They were capable of so much more than just following the way other people battled. They weren’t afraid to fight dirty if they had to.

When the battle commenced, they weren’t to surprised when the older rocket used types that were strong against Soul Fire; that was the downside of battling someone one wasn’t too familiar with.

No Guard, they hated that fucking ability. Hmmm, but were there ways to trick that ability? Before they could give it much thought, Cillian started the battle. “Soulfire disrupt the attack,” they ordered, and the chandelier would fire off a Shadow Ball at the incoming stone spheres, causing the attacks to collide. Due to the closeness off the stone spheres, Soulfire would actually get sent flying back a bit, but the move had done as they wanted, though next time maybe they should stand further back if they were going to try something so reckless.

Only sparing a glance to Soulfire to ensure she was okay, they would direct Kitsune to go for an attack of her own. The fox Pokémon would go for the Lycanroc with an assurance, probably since it wasn’t a partial dark type meaning the move wouldn’t loose effectiveness.[break] Cillian Quinn

Stealing was fairly routine for them by now. At first, it had been a means of survival after they had struck out on their own. Then it had just become one of the skill sets they provided Team Rocket with. Basically, if something needed to be stolen, they were one of the first people Team Rocket turned to, so when they heard of pirates, they immediately offered up their services.

Now they were getting a sense of the layout with their partner for the mission. At the question, they took the binoculars and used the binoculars to push their mask up in such a way that the mask would immediately fall back into position without revealing anything when they were done. Looking through the binoculars, they confirmed what they had figured out already: the ship was currently empty of anyone. Or at least from what they could see anyway.

“Yes, though we should still approach with caution,” they pointed out, taking one last look through the binoculars before handing them back.

At the question, they considered the options. Neither option seemed optimal, but the water would provide more cover. “Let’s go by water; we’re too exposed on the logs. As long as we don’t make too much noise, I think we’ll be fine if we approach from the water.”[break] clover matamata

Ignoring the way the Pokémon at the older rockers side seemed to be tense before realizing it was them, they took in the older rockers appearance. Of course, due to their ever-present mask, which only covered the top half of their face, it was hard to tell they were doing this.

Unlike last time, their superior was wearing a mask. Or perhaps a helmet would be a more accurate term. It was definitely a curious helmet, and they wondered if they were prepared to run into any stray leaguers like they were.

They returned the greeting with one of their own before shaking their heads upon hearing the question. "No, I only arrived shortly before you did; I did have enough time to check my equipment again, though.” And apparently there was enough time to scale a tree, but they didn’t say that, especially since climbing a tree was pretty much second nature to them and easier to climb than a wall.

Well, that was good. The last thing they wanted was to run into any more leaguers. The last one they had run into had caused them to fail their mission. It still bothered them that they were forced to surrender to Josh Devlin, though they supposed being able to leave was better than getting killed or captured by the league. It was probably only still such a big deal for them because it had injured their pride.

“Good, I don’t want any goody two shoes leaguer to get in the way.” Their thoughts are still on their failed mission from before they delivered that comment more aggressively than was actually necessary. However, when the topic moved on, Sage would regain their usual calm composure.

The question was expected, and they shook their head. They could ask if they were expected to find a ghost Pokémon or if someone actually thought the place they were going to was hunted by actual human spirits. They didn’t believe in the latter, but they had to admit they were curious as to how all of this would go down.[break] mint frost

Sage kept half their attention on their fellow rockets and the other half on their surroundings. With how great the conflict was between League and Rocket, one could never be too careful. Which was why, even when it seemed like a simple mission, they remained vigilant.

Though the mask they wore that covered the top half of their face would make it hard to see this,. Especially that they were paying attention to the other rocket at their side. The only indication was when he would turn his head slightly towards them when they spoke.

“Who’s to say? Who’s to say League weren’t keeping a close eye on these?” they pointed out. It was why Poseidon, their Greninja, was patrolling ahead. He was skilled enough to stay out of sight and surprise anyone who tried to ambush them.

Even with Poseidon scouting ahead, they weren’t about to let their guard down. That was a good way to get hurt, or worse. They had learned never to let their guard down, especially with those you were supposed to trust.

They let out a hum of agreement before speaking. “I don’t see why it wouldn’t be enough. It was never specified how many we grab, just that we grab as many as we can.”

They would be lying if they claimed to have never stolen information. The one mission that had been intercepted by Josh Devlin came to mind. They had been after information then. Of course, they had failed. But the fact remained: they had been after information then.

“I’m a thief through and through, and anything worth stealing will get stolen. Information could easily fall into that category. There’s a reason that some people think knowledge is part of it, and what is information if not a form of knowledge?” they pointed out, their tone remaining calm and measured.

At the idea that they might already have information to share, they shook their heads. "No, I haven’t had many assignments lately that required stealing information. However, that doesn’t mean I’m not interested; a job is a job, after all. I’m not the type of thief who steals for money; I guess I’m more into it for thrills now that it’s not for survival.”

If one were to ask if they liked working with others or preferred working alone, they would choose the latter. Not out of dislike for others but because they liked their own privacy. It was probably the reason they knew only a select few of the people who also aligned themselves with Team Rocket.

Due to this, they somewhat expected very few people to know about them. So learning of a fellow grunt looking for them who they had never interacted with before was definitely a surprise.

Usually, unless dealing with one of their superiors, they wouldn’t go out of their way to track someone down. However, hearing that this person was seeking them out purposefully made them curious.

Curious enough to see what this stranger could want from them.

Though curious, they still proceeded with caution when going to see what their fellow grunts could want from them. It wouldn’t be to let one guard down and get stabbed in the back after all. Not that they thought that was what would happen. But still…

Babies, huh? Probably not the best idea to have such a team if you planned on being a part of Team Rocket. Especially not when they were on the precipice of a war. People like them and Asher needed to be prepared to fight if they needed to. They highly doubted the higher-ups would just allow their members to not help them in the fight against Team Rocket.

When fighting against the league, it was probably best to come fully prepared. In their mind, that meant having a team of fully prepared Pokémon. However, if the other teen could figure out a way for Pokémon not fully evolved to work in his favor, then he should have at it.

"I will admit, though, that I probably don't have as many Pokémon as I should. I haven't been out much in order to catch Pokémon."

Considering he was trying to keep his identity hidden from the league, it was probably for the best. Less of a risk of being discovered if he didn't go out much. Of course, that would involve him losing his mask. But still, one could never be too careful.

At the question, he paused in his cleaning, repositioned their body so it was easier to talk and clean, before they answered his question. "I got caught up in someone else's mess and got hurt because of it. Found myself on my own, hurt, and with limited knowledge on how to treat wounds. Didn't feel I could go to the league, so I turned to Rocket," he explained, trying to stay somewhat vague while also sticking to the truth.
