"Unfortunately," he agreed with a sigh. Dealing with cleaning up the beach was one thing, but dealing with people was another thing entirely. He wasn't a fighter, nor a violent person, so he didn't like it when people tried to cause problems for others. Unfortunately, he knew that what the older male was alluding to was correct. The possibility of encountering people who would try to get in the way, or wild Pokémon who would attack simply for being disturbed, was high.

As he mentioned working together, he nodded. "Works for me. If we come across any injured Pokémon due to the state of the beach, I have a Galarian Rapidash that knows Heal Pulse. So that is at least one less thing to worry about. We should still keep our guard up, though," he told him as he began to make his way towards the waterline.

"I think it's best to focus on removing the trash from the water, since it poses the most hazards to the water Pokémon that call the ocean their home," he said over his shoulder.

Upon reaching the water's edge, he noticed a bit of trash a bit further out. It was easy to tell that it would be hard to reach unless one of them wanted to go for a swim and retrieve it.

Well, unless there was some other way. And for him, there was.

"That's right, so keep your eyes and ears open," he would tell her, his gaze scanning the area around them, on the lookout for any injured Pokémon as well as anything that could be dangerous. Not that a hurt Pokémon could be dangerous. When wild Pokémon were hurt, they could be prone to being more aggressive.

At the apology he would just wave it off without looking at her. People apologizing to him made him uncomfortable, even after three years away from his dad.

They had been trekking for a bit after their small conversation when he thought he heard something. But it was hard to hear over their footsteps, so he held up a hand. "Stop," he said as he stopped walking himself.

Now that he didn't have to listen to their footsteps, he heard it again. A Pokémon cry.

"Do you hear that?" he asked, not bothering to look at her since he was trying to pinpoint where it was coming from.

That shout sounded human. He didn't want to jump to conclusions and just assume it was Zachary, so his gaze flickered to Dizzy. From the way he was acting, the person who shouted was his trainer. That was good, it meant they had found him. Well, not found him exactly, but now they knew where to go.

Unfortunately, the male was in a cavern that led behind the waterfall, meaning he would probably end up a little wet.

Resisting the urge to sigh, he began to make his way towards the waterfall, knowing he wouldn't have to bother beckoning the dual type to follow. She would just follow him.

Pressing himself as close to the wall as he could, he tried to get as little wet as possible as he slipped around the waterfall to the cavern behind it. His shirt got a little wetter than he wanted, but he supposed there was nothing to do about it now.

Once he was sure they were both in the cavern behind the waterfall, he would start to trek deeper into the cavern. They hadn't gone very far when they stumbled across a shiny Jynx.

He barely had time to admire that it was shiny before it attacked. Recognizing the move as Ice Punch, he barely managed to dodge in time, the attack grazing his leg a bit.

Ignoring it, he released Volt, his Zebstrika, from his pokeball and had him use Thunder Wave on the Jynx before she could go for another attack.

With the ice type being a bit paralyzed, he took out an empty pokeball and tossed it at the Pokémon.

Not waiting for it to stop shaking, he picked it up before he started walking again. Hopefully, they would find Zachary soon.[break] zachary stellar

Pouring himself a cup of coffee he let out a sigh. Sleep was impossible if all he ever did when he slept was have nightmares. He heavily preferred just not sleeping at all. It had probably been a few days since he had actually gotten any sleep. Due to how much coffee he drank it was actually pretty easy. That didn’t mean that he wasn’t always tired.

Lack of sleep made it hard to deal with stuff at times. So when he opened his eyes to see a Venonat he made a lunge for it trying to grab it so he could put it back outside. Of course the bug type saw him coming and dodged his swipe making him miss. He hit the ground with a grunt and was getting back to his feet with even more bug Pokémon came through the window.

Now on his feet he moved back eying the bug Pokémon warily. His house was too enclosed to use Corviknight and he wasn’t sure using Zebstrika in such an enclosed space was such a good idea either. However it was the best idea he had. So he unleashed Volt from his pokeball. ”Try to paralyze a few of them with thunder wave, I’m going to call for back up,” he told the electric type while he moved away.

”This is Trainee Ranger Blackwell. My home is being invaded by bug Pokémon. It would be great if I could get some backup,” he said once over the ranger network making sure to say where his residence was. Hopefully one of the other rangers would hear his message and come to his aid. He had no way of knowing what rangers were busy. Today, he was tasked with using his Corviknight as a taxi service and flying people around. Apparently, a small family of tourists wanted to explore the region but didn't want to risk getting turned around in the wilderness, so they wanted someone to take them from one city to the next.

Usually, the taxi service took care of stuff like this. However, a few of their Corviknights and Charizards had come down with something. And though he had initially offered to have Celestia do a session of Heal Pulse on them, he had been turned down and told that his service to get a tourist family where they needed to go was required.

Though he had been reassured that it wasn't the case, part of him had to wonder if the taxi service people were afraid he planned to do something to the Pokémon. After all, they had been a bit quick to turn down his offer of a healing session.

Shaking his head to clear his thoughts, he looked down at his watch. His watch told him he had a bit of time before his partner for the mission and the tourist family were to arrive.

He had arrived early to get Rook set up but wondered if perhaps he had arrived a little too early.

The beach is a great place to relax, usually anyway. It definitely wasn't today, not with all the trash he could see lying around. It made his blood boil to see the beach trashed. Seriously, didn't people realize the harm they were doing to the ecosystem by throwing trash in the water?

He glowered at the trash before movement from his peripheral vision caught his attention. Stopping his glaring match to see what was going on, he stopped to look. Further down the beach, someone was holding bags and trash pickers, trying to get people's attention. 'Was he trying to get people to clean the beach?' he wondered.

Well, there was one way to find out. With his head raised high, he made his way over to the guy, who looked to be about middle-aged, just as another person walked away with a shake of her head. He watched the person walk away with an unreadable expression before turning his attention to the middle-aged man. "I'll help," he offered, ignoring the older man's relieved look as he took the bag and trash picker.

His father had barely held back the previous night. It had been really hard to move this morning. And he knew his movements had been a little stiffer than usual.

Most of the bruises were easy to hide behind clothing.

But not the bruise on the side of his face.

There was a big bruise on the left side of his face that stretched from his left temple to his cheek. From where his father had thrown him into a wall.

At least he didn't have a black eye this time.

So maybe he could say he had run into a tree or something. It was entirely possible. And it wasn't like anyone would know any different.

Letting out a huff, he finished getting dressed, wincing slightly as one of his bruises pulled. He grumbled under his breath about getting carried away before giving himself a once-over in the mirror. Making a face at his reflection, he sighed. He supposed that was the best he would do.

He started to walk towards the door and stopped.

He couldn't go out walking the way he was.

Gritting his teeth, he practiced walking until he was walking normally.

Once he was satisfied with his walk, he checked the time. "Good, he had more than enough time to get to his destination."

After making sure his father was nowhere to be found, he made his way out of the house. Once outside, he felt he could breathe a sigh of relief.

Once he had enjoyed being free for a few seconds, he made his way to the battle cafe. It was always his first stop upon leaving the house.

He reached his destination right on time. Not a minute before, not a minute after. Just like he normally did.

Though upon entering, he realized that the sight of someone occupying the usual empty seat that was beside his usual seat meant this day wasn't just going to be a normal day. Especially when the guy called him over.

Shit, how did this guy know his name? He didn't know him. He would remember if he had seen anyone like him.

Realizing he was just standing there, he recovered his composure and made his way over, seating himself in his usual seat.

There was also the fact that he didn't have the highest regard for his own life. Being a doctor was all well and good, but to him, it was kind of boring. Seriously, where was the thrill in just tending to someone's wounds compared to trying to tame wild Pokémon?

Sure, there were poachers and trappers...

But he honestly felt that the good outweighed the bad.

"I suppose..." he said finally before continuing. "Rangers are still rarely on the front lines, though. Not like officers and soldiers. I suppose if someone really, really, really pissed me off, I wouldn't have a problem punching them in the face. But that's a big maybe."

"Let's try another approach. I don't want to kill. Knock them out, tie them up, throw them in an underground cell so they never see the light of day again, I don't care. I'd rather not kill."

He cared a lot about Pokémon.
