Sylv is Lutgarde's dearest, which gives them an additional awareness that, while lovely like many other Sylveon, Sylv is also irritable and a drama queen. At Ollie's words, he seems to puff his cheeks a bit mid-run, and adds another edge to his Quick Attack - more power, more speed, more ...

Hit by the Discharge, Sylv finds himself flying in the air again. He lands with some difficulty on his paws, letting out an indignant huff. "Oh no, now you've done it," Lutgarde says, not being able to hide a bit of a smirk - they know the two pokémon would get along again after the battle ... or so they hope.

For now, Sylv doesn't approach again, and insteads sings with a Disarming Voice - returning, at least on the surface, to a mellow, soothing song.

Sylv is caught by Kama right in this moment where you're changing gears - that moment of zero gravity when jumping high, but here, more deadly: a moment of zero motion as he prepares to jump away, and fails. He succumbs to poison another time today, and stumbles after the Poison Jab. Lutgarde sees the HP counter on the display drop to 0, and they call their Sylveon back before it could actually fall.

"But not fast enough," they comment, perhaps a bit fashionably late, and carefully walk over to Noah to shake hands. "Congratulations, those were some impressive moves! Good match!"

"Not a Vaporeon, I'm afraid," Lutgarde replies to the tease with a grin, which earns a bit of a side-eye from Sylv. "Don't wanna paint the water black red by accident." Truly, if Sylv had chosen the Vaporeon route, they would've gotten more experimental with way more dyes ...

The Iron Tail coming at Sylv is enough to send the Sylveon back, but he makes sure to at least get a bit of an impact in. "Hey, Sylv's not a ball!" they call out, the feigned indignation betrayed by a bit of a smirk. Bouncing back, Sylv puts quite some effort into landing on his paws, before sprinting forward again, using Quick Attack another time!

"For some longer!" Lutgarde boldly claims, just right before Sylv's tail is hit with the Pursuit - oops, maybe that was a bit too early. However, Sylv indeed knows how to run, and breaks free before more damage could be done, sprinting with a Quick Attack to gain more and more speed. Provoked by the question, he makes a sharp turn, and then makes a run to hit Kama with the Quick Attack frontally!

Lutgarde mirrors the smile, "Roland then! I'm happy to meet you." There's a story lingering in the air, but they're not one to pry, even if they can't say they're not curious at all ... Maybe they'd get a chance to chat sometime later. For now, they have to focus on the battle, which soon is taken up a notch. It's only the second time they've seen it - but twice in one day sounds like quite a lot - and ... they really got to focus up.

"Stay on your guard!" Lutgarde shouts towards their Sylveon, which gives a simple nod as he gets some distance in-between himself and Roland. Now that crown looks like something he's ... got mixed feelings about. His instincts tell him to stay far, but part of him has become fond of skyscrapers, metal everywhere. It's where he works with his trainer, after all.

For now, he decides to go on the defense, throwing up a Light Screen in anticipation of a devastating attack.

Lutgarde returns the handshake firmly, nodding, "Good match! It was a really exciting fight 'till the end." Sylv's ribbon ties itself around their other wrist, as he chirps in agreement. "Oh, we gladly take it, thanks!" they reply, not having expected to get a gym badge out of the tournament - it seems like there's really quite a lot they've got to catch up on, but this makes them even more excited for their time in Hoenn.

"May we meet again!" they grin as they say goodbye.

"Thanks," Lutgarde replies, before frowning slightly. Sylv's attack is quick, but not forceful enough to overpower the Close Combat move from his opponent. After taking the hits, Sylv is sent flying where he came from, but he manages to land on his paws - and just past the mud. "Ouch."

Sylv squints at the mud for only one second, before throwing his head high and singing with a clear and Disarming Voice - now going for ranged rather than melee!

"Your pokémon's pretty cool, too," Lutgarde replies with a grin and a half-bow, looking at the robotic pokémon with fascination. "Don't think I've ever seen that one before. Reminds me of Gardevoir and Gallade tho..." They've heard Hoenn's home to some intriguing phenomena, but haven't been able to catch up with everything that happened here yet.

Sylv returns the polite bow, too, his eyes looking at the starlight-blade with cautious interest. He has the feeling he'll meet that one soon enough ...

"Let's begin!" Without further command, Sylv launches into a Quick Attack, speeding up fast and faster.

"Natural polkadots sound rather special," Lutgarde agrees, but sticking out isn't always ... "Oh, a tutu? That's really cool, too! It's a bummer we can't really work with costumes ... to much, at least." It's already enough that their fashion style is borderline impractical for their line of work, now if Sylv also wore ... it would be really cute, tho.

Sylv lets out a loud yelp at the Play Rough, trying to break free as soon as possible, jumping out of range. His fur is now definitely ruffled and tousled, and he does not look too happy about it. He doesn't have any ideas in his distress - he just charges onward with a Quick Attack again!

The sudden appearance of water makes Sylv jump into the air, but only that wouldn't do - the battlefield's about to be flooded! He throws a Light Screen below him, in the hopes of using it as a surfboard momentarily, and then as a stepping stone to accelerate enough for a Quick Attack! If he wouldn't end up in the waves, after all.

Sylv is by heart a rather righteous creature - even if he also isn't above employing some dirty tricks if absolutely needed. The Foul Play hits him rather unexpectedly, and he makes an indignant noise. He forces himself not to dwell too long on it, and instead comes back with another Quick Attack, racing towards the Klefki to tackle it to the ground.

Sylv's quickness manages to get the first hit in, but the Flash Cannon is not to be underestimated either. The Sylveon uses the momentum of the Quick Attack to get away as quickly a possible, and sets up a Light Screen in his path - he's not sure how physics work in this case, but maybe the screen might actually reflect the Flash Cannon back to its origin?

Lutgarde gives Marianne a relaxed courtsy in thanks for the compliment, definitely appearing quite proud of the duo's fashion choices. "Thanks! Phanpy could be really cute with some colours, too ... maybe you could see about some painted patterns?" they suggest. Their eyes do not leave the battlefield, either, watching it carefully. ... if it weren't that blinding. "I should've taken sunglasses, actually."

Lutgarde seems to become a bit more excited upon seeing another Fairy type participating in the battle, and more importantly, this battle! "It's very good to meet you two," they grin, accompanied by confirmative cooes from Sylv as he (unwillingly) unwraps his ribbon from his trainer's wrist.

They also wouldn't let much more time pass, taking the opportunity to make the first move. By now, there's no command required, either, as they start as they started all (or most, at least) other battles! A Quick Attack comes rushing towards Angel, aiming to get the first hit in with rapid speed.
