Lutgarde pauses at that new piece of information - they didn't know Elise had personally taken part in that. "Will it be alright, returning here?" they ask, their voice unusually quiet as they asked for reassurance. From what they could tell, Elise's not to underestimated, and if they're here already ... well, they're here. Nonetheless, they couldn't help but ask to make sure. They've only heard of the events that have transpired, and even then, only briefly; everything that has happened in Hoenn is barely more than news to them - for now.

Reality would find its way, they think.

Their division of task is quite clear, though Lutgarde would do their best to try and help as best as they can - and if that's by standing beside obediently, so will it be. But for now, they gladly take the first cautious steps. Without having to say anything to Sylv, the Sylveon elegantly hops onto his trainer's shoulder, being one person less to activate any potential traps.

"Is there anything in particular I should look out for?" they ask as they go, following Elise's instructions. Their steps are surprisingly light for someone who used a firmer step - but it is taking effort for them not to stomp.

It's strange how Lutgarde could feel so much at home among skyscrapers standing tall; buildings followed by more buildings, with little greenery thrown here and there. You couldn't look as far as the eye reaches; only until the next window reveals parts of the mystery of the within. It's a whole different world than the one they grew up with, and maybe that's the charm - something entirely different.

Sylv, their Sylveon, has his ribbon wrapped around their wrist as they take a stroll through Slateport's Upper District, bustling with life and people. They navigate the crowd perfectly - the ribbon never catching on anything, the flow of the city and streets never interrupted by their presence. (It's not always been like this, of course; country bumpkins that they were, when everything was new and shiny.) (Maybe things being new and shiny wouldn't change, however, as everyday is different.)

"Did you find something interesting?" Lutgarde suddenly asks, as they feel Sylv's attention lingering on something for a few moments longer; the Sylveon doesn't reply, and he doesn't need to. They both start moving at the same time again, perhaps with a little nudge from Sylv, to see what has caught his attention before.

Lutgarde's decided to stop by Josh's gym as they found time for it; ideal would be, of course, if they also happened to catch Josh in a moment of spare time, but otherwise they probably would know how to busy themself. Their Sylveon Sylv is attached to their wrist as always as they leisurely take a walk, which seems oddly out of place at the racing course. They watch other trainers for a few moments, before changing scenery, and changing scenery again - this racing course truly accomodated a variety of pokémon and movement.

It kind of made them want to challenge Josh immediately, being taken by the speed surrounding them, but Sylv communicating calm waves calms them down to a steady heartbeat. "Alright, alright, one step at a time, hm?" they grin, lowering their hand slightly more for Sylv to bop his nose against their palm. "But we're gonna do the challenge sometime, I know you also want it," they then smirk, to which Sylv doesn't have a reply - except a greeting coo.

As Lutgarde turns to see who the Sylveon has just greeted, their face quickly turns to a grin as well, and they wave, "Hey there, Josh! Got a moment?" They shout, but are careful not to let their voice boom - even with this wide open space around them, part of them wants to be careful, as if air could be porcelain, too.

Lutgarde has to admit, they've never been much of a history buff. They knew the past of their village in Kalos, sure, but that's mostly because it was impossible not to when you grow up there with only so much to the whole world. (It was never not enough; just limited, as they've found later, but not in a lacking way.) (They considered the thought, then let go of it.)

"You've been here before?" they ask their companion for this mission, Elise Calcifet. It's been a welcome surprise to not only have someone with similiarly eccentric fashion choices as neighbour, but also actually someone working the same métier as them! "I'm not sure how much good I'll do with logic puzzles, but if there's anything that needs some force, I've got you," they laugh, looking at the entrance with a curious glance.

As always, their Sylveon Sylv, coloured in black and red hues to match Lutgarde (and vice-versa), has a ribbon wrapped around his trainer's wrist, cooing seemingly in agreement with Lutgarde's words. "And Sylv will also help, of course." There's a moment of tensing muscles, preparing for the unknown that makes them both cautious and ... excited, in a way.

"I'll go first and you lead the way?" It remains unspoken, but there'd be an almost tangible sense of discomfort for having Elise (and anyone) go in front of them when the terrain's about to become potentially quite dangerous.

PERSONAL

• started service in hoenn at the end of january '24. currently live in lilycove city.
• always seen with their sylveon sylv. generally dyes their pokémon black-red so they all match with their gothic lolita style.

FRIENDS & FOES

• easily befriends people and just about anyone. is friendly and can be a bit much, but knows when to back off. however, still oddly persistent sometimes.
• extremely forgiving to a fault. also extremely trusting and takes others at face value; they're aware that this is bad and also trust sylv's judgement with a grain of salt, as they still want to believe. (and he's very petty sometimes.)
• really sportsy and enjoys a lot of activities - just about any group activity, actually.
• PLOTS hang out, play some games and matches together, shopping clothes (they only know sports and gothic lolita), they're up for just about anything!

KALOSIAN ROOTS & THE BIG CITY

• originally coming from a village near santalune in kalos. their family is one of farmers.
• however, spent the last decade almost now in illumina city and has adapted to the city lifestyle very quick. incredibly fond of cities and architecture - know surprisingly lot about construction and city planning.
• PLOTS bonding with other kalosians, be a bit of a city nerd; they're still fairly new, so exploring the region and all!

RANGER DANGER

• they are not stationed anywhere and are always up for ranger missions whereever their help might be needed.
• specialise in urban areas and cityscapes; has a few experiences with city planning. tasks might include: taking care of city parks, checking and maintaining rooftop (and other) nestings, checking in with pokémon in the sewers, mediating between citizens and pokémon, etc pp.

Sylv stumbles back from the collision, and hits the zero counter as his leg gave in - he'd never allow himself to properly fall if preventable, and Lutgarde quickly steps in and calls him back into his ball before he'd actually faint.

"That was a great battle! Your Klefki's moves are really good." One would think that Sylv would know to handle them better, but he's a tad bit too stiffly righteous, it seems. "Well fought," they grin, walking over to Marianne and offering a handshake.
