[attr="class","rolling-thread"][attr="class,"faction"]There was one thing nobody really focused on during the mission at Mt. Chimney, focusing on keeping the volcano itself from erupting. Fallarbor Town already had to deal with a ton of ash and soot regularly from the mountain, falling at a near-constant rate. With the activity, it certainly didn't get any better. Taking a deep breath, Ruby finally pulled the bandana up around her face and the goggles around her eyes before pushing out into the street. [break][break]

Her destination was the Pokecenter as it was kind of overrun. The soot wasn't the worst issue for the town, after all, it was what gave the land it's signature fertile farmlands. However, it was the wild pokemon attempting to escape from Mt. Chimney that caused most of the ruckus. [break][break]

Stepping into the center, she quickly brushed off as much soot as she could from her clothes and her hair, shaking herself for a second before pulling the bandana down. Quickly sending out Grace, the blue Gardevoir stretched where she stood.[break][break]

"Come on dear, let's get to work."

And yet, people were resilient, stubborn even. It was alive and just as beautiful as before, if not even more so. The sights, the sounds, even the smells were incredible. From food to crafts, to everything else under the sun, it was honestly much more enjoyable heading downtown for a bite to eat, as compared to making something herself.[break][break]

"Hmm, what are we feeling today Darling?" The Indeedee walked by her side, holding onto Ruby's hand and quite clearly walking as fast as she could to keep up with her trainer. Little legs could only go so far. [break][break]

"Dee!" It cried out, with a soft smile on its face. There was no way to precisely understand what it said, but Ruby had known the Pokemon for a long time. They'd probably be happy with whatever. With a quiet chuckle, Ruby reached over to gently pat their head before they continued walking down the street. [break][break]

"Well? Shall we go look around at some cute crafts first?" With another happy cry in response, Ruby simply continued to walk off through the crowd. A constant soft smile on her face.

She'd happily smile at Hideo Kino, about to say something else continuing in the conversation before someone else walked over to their small group and her smile immediately widened in recognition. "Hey, Cardamom Bliss! It's wonderful to see you again!" It would take her a few seconds before the thought finally clicked in her head. If he was here... he was on Mt. Chimney, wasn't he? She fought to keep herself from sighing, just how many children just ran towards danger like a bat out of hell? Even Eris Halla was visible in the distance, standing all by her lonesome, causing Ruby a bit more stress. Was this what being a babysitter felt like? Children constantly at risk of getting hurt? Heaven forbid. [break][break]

Before she could stress some more, Andy Blackadder spoke and her smile twisted into a soft frown. Always blunt, it seemed. She'd clear her throat, speaking up immediately afterward. "Alright, alright, let me introduce you to a few of my friends. This is Hideo Kino, and this," She'd pause for a moment before a knowing smirk began to form on her face as she continued. "Is Edmund Blackadder the Seventh." Ruby would stare at Andy Blackadder for a bit afterward, making sure her point was made. "But he prefers Andy." [break][break]

She'd slowly stand up from her seat. "Alright, you kids play nice for a second, I'm going to go see if I can fetch Eris Halla over here, okay?" And with that, she'd quickly make her way over to the young girl. Even from this distance, just judging based on the way her overprotective Luxray was sticking incredibly close to her, Ruby knew better than to get too close. A few feet away, Ruby finally spoke up.[break][break]

"Hey, Eris! You can join us over there if you want, you know. Maybe I can introduce you to a friend of mine, too?"

She'd give him a polite apologetic look for a second before turning to the little devil beast. "Be on your best behavior, understand? If you make a mess, there will be no sweet treats later, alright?" [break][break]

It gasped audible, almost as if it was offended by the mere suggestion it wouldn't get any sweets. It huffed, and then it puffed, and eventually, it just sighed knowingly. "Be good, however, and you'll get even more sweets, okay?" Ruby continued, trying her best to work with the baby. It gasped once more, eagerly nodding its massive head as it actually landed onto the ground, holding the Indeedee's hand back themselves. With that task taking care of, Ruby finally turned and walked over towards the counter. [break][break]

"Oh, uh... Sorry, I'm not actually here to pick up or drop off. I'm just looking to ask a few questions if that's alright! Oh, but uh, my name is Ruby. Ruby Walker, that is, for your records." She was certainly fumbling around with her words a bit, but she certainly did look like she had been running ragged for a little while. [break][break]

"I'll admit, I'm usually really good with Pokemon. But this little guy is, uh..." She'd pause, turning to look at him making a silly face behind her back. A simple look was all it took for them to return back to their 'best behavior.' With a quiet chuckle of her own, Ruby continued. "A handful and a half. I was looking to see if you guys had any ideas of what I could do to train them better. I mean, I imagine you have to look after all types here at the Daycare, right?"

[attr="class","rolling-thread"][attr="class,"faction"]It was indeed much like a top, but it was kind of quite cute, in it's own little way. Ancient toys and things like that had such a charm to them. After all, it was what kids played with for thousands of years before more modern toys were invented. It did cause her to wonder, however. There were modern man-made Pokemon, like Porygon... could any of these ancient pokemon have been created a long time ago too? The possibility certainly existed.[break][break]

"Oh, I don't know, honestly! Nobody really knows I guess. It isn't like anyone can just, go and ask, you know?" She'd chuckle quietly to herself, watching the Baltoy continue to spin. "Alright, Tipsy, calm down a bit, will you? Let our new friend get a good look at you." It ignored Ruby for a few seconds before she simply sighed and repeated herself in a firmer tone. "Tipsy. Relax." [break][break]

That certainly seemed to get their attention. The Baltoy would gradually slow down it's rapid spinning, finally turning to face Andy Blackadder and wobble back and forth on its point for a few seconds before simply levitating into the air. It's silent, unmoving face just looking at the boy for a while before it continues to wobble aloft in the air. [break][break]

Meanwhile, Ruby's attention was on the Unown. Her own gaze filled with intense curiosity, and almost certainly appreciation for the mysterious Pokemon. "You know, I actually collect Unown! I don't know, I think I just love a good mystery."

As Eris Halla flinches away from her hand, Ruby just quietly nodded her head without a word. Anxiety was almost certainly at an all-time high, and not knowing what they would find this time was definitely terrifying. She continues to keep a close eye on the little girl, but there was absolutely no need to disturb her thoughts right now, it seemed. It could simply make things worse.[break][break]

Letting out a deep breath, she steeled her own nerves as she finally sent out her Indedeee. The Psychic Surge suddenly summoning a Psychic Terrain, the protective purple mist slowly forming at their feet. "Darling, give our diggers a Helping Hand, shall we?" The Indeedee would simply smile, ever calm as always, and holding her hands as she surrounded the Steelix nearby with a gentle golden coloration. [break][break]

She'd simply take a brief moment to enjoy the psychic terrain and the mist it brought, knowing it would offer some protection from incredibly fast attacks. Hopefully, it would give them a chance to defend just in case anything else jumped out at them.[break][break]

Alas, exhausted was the only one that really came anywhere close to describing it, although drained certainly came close. She'd simply sigh and close her eyes for a moment, enjoying the cool breeze on the beach and letting the worries of the world slowly fade for a moment.[break][break]

For just a second, everything was peaceful. The happy laughter in the distance, the sand beneath her feet, the breeze in her hair, and the... melting ice cream all over her hands. [break][break]

"Aww, crap." Her eyes opened as she glanced down, seeing the strawberry ice cream melting down over her fingers. Cleaning her hands up with the napkin she grabbed, she was finally brought out of her distracted thoughts by Hideo Kino speaking, followed by a Rotomdex and Andy Blackadder replying in kind. He certainly didn't seem to be enjoying his ice cream very well, with his casts. However, she was pretty sure offering to help might only serve to wound his pride. And that probably would hurt worse than his injuries. [break][break]

"Oh. Yeah, still standing." She'd let out a quiet laugh, although there wasn't really any humor in the statement. She honestly didn't know what she would be doing if any of them weren't still standing. Quickly shaking her head, Ruby let out a deep breath and forced herself to push past her anxiety for what could have been and simply enjoy the now.[break][break]

After a second of uncomfortable silence, at least on Ruby's end, she finally spoke up again. "You uh, you know Hideo Kino ? We have quite the similar taste in Pokemon. At least, as far as I have seen. You know, our Gardevoir are practically identical side by side."

Explosions rock the mountain left and right as these blades of earth are destroyed. It was almost too much to make out, all she could tell was some strange other Pokemon began to fight Groudon as they began to be sealed deep underground before her Pokemon quickly Teleported her, and anyone else around her immediate area away as far as it could before they could receive any lasting injuries. [break][break]

Reappearing on top of a nearby mountain, Ruby finally collapsed to her knees to simply breathe. Was Hoenn ever not at risk of being blown up? Invaded? Attacked? It seemed like everything in the world cared so much about this island nation that it was constantly in peril every other month. With a heavy sigh, the young girl finally pulled off her goggles and bandana around her mouth, revealing just how much soot was covering the rest of her face. It would have been comical if she was any remotely bit relaxed. [break][break]

"Is everyone okay? Actually here?" Ruby would count heads, double-checking to make sure both Hideo Kino and Andy Blackadder were here before speaking about herself. "I've been worse. Grace, Life Dew. Our job isn't over. " The Gardevoir would simply nod, using her signature move and spreading out healing droplets around their group. [break][break]

"Look," Ruby began, only to struggle for words and just groaning as she rubbed her face, smearing soot across it. "We'll have a talk about climbing volcanos and how much of a stupid idea that was later. I have to go back, I need to make sure everyone else gets out okay and patch up those who can't get this far. You two stay put, alright?"

Recalling the rest of her Pokemon, Ruby sent out her Shadow Togekiss, Amor seemingly upset it missed the fight as they ruffled their own feathers. Climbing aboard their back, Ruby would only then look back at the kids. After a few seconds, a reluctant smile spread across her face. "... Thanks for having my back, though. We do make a great team, huh?"

With that, Ruby quickly soared away on Amor's back with Extreme Speed, immediately starting her search and rescue routine. There was no time to lose after a disaster. Hopefully, the healing rain still pouring down above Mt. Chimney would help at least somewhat.[break][break]

Maybe, just maybe, Hoenn could have a break to patch up its wounds before the next one split open.[break][break]

Just a dream, anyways.
