"You're sure you'll be ok?" Kaida squatted in the surf, unminding on the water coursing over her shoes, it would dry. In front of her, Din the Gorebyss squealed in the positive and shifted under the water. He could use Psychic to bring up garbage that drifted under the surf, and would make sure Kaida didn't knock any trash towards the water. A living shield, to be sure. [break][break]

By her side were an Ekans and Seviper, both sharp and ready. She brought them to help her find where the garbage was, as poison-types just seemed to have a knack for find toxic material. "Ormr, Hema, let's go-" [break][break]

She startled as a scream suddenly rang out, the presence of Skyler returning to the beach having gone unnoticed by Kaida until now. Hurriedly, her Pokemon and her darted over, toting a bag that seemed ready to eat Kaida whole. "What is the pro-oh." The clear distress the woman had yelled out had made her think it was an emergency, but still..."That's bad." [break] [break]

Glitter particles. What was she even supposed to do with that!?

The words are very inspiring, Kaida thinks, hoping they are true. "Is that so?" She feels like curling her lips, "Good, I wouldn't want to be someone they can't count on." The last thing she ever wanted was to be a burden, the one that they had to risk their lives to protect when they should be worrying about themselves. [break][break]

Her head jerks towards the crashing water, blinking as it quickly subsides. Silence usually reigned after a battle, though the waters seemed more comfortable in making that silence dwell in her ears. [break][break]

His offer of help clearly came a little unexpectedly, her head tilting and eyes narrowing like she was waiting for a catch of some kind, one which never came, "...I would like that, there's not too many ways I can prepare for enemies." She admitted. [break][break]

With badge in hand and offer in her skull, Kaida offered a smile and prepared to leave. She had work to do and her Pokemon needed to heal...she wondered if they knew she was proud, she had to tell them later.

To allow her Pokemon to stay with a stranger, Isra here had to be very confident, Kaida thought. She didn't raise any argument, the healing Pokemon was greatly appreciated by both herself and the Pokemon they'd be rescuing. She wasn't done madly wandering the outskirts just yet. [break][break]

As Isra left, Kaida turned and addressed the Gardivour, "L-Lucille, please stay here and help them." She pointed out the exhausted and overheated Pokemon resting in the little pools, then to her own, "Garmr, Fafnir, let's go!" The day wasn't done yet.

Kaida's own handshake is rather rough, overly strong and a little clumsy, but a handshake nonetheless. "Happy to meet you." She spoke genuinely, even if she was just happy that the woman arrived in time to help her out. [break][break]

Will you be able to handle yourself? [break][break]

Looking over at the helpful Gardevoir, Kaida nodded, unwilling to be a burden. "Yes, thank you very much, I have to get back to work but I'll...be careful with my water." Great, now she had to follow such words.

Kaida stood frozen, staring at the fallen form of the Primarina until she realizes it had truly fainted. "It's done?" Her voice carried over enough to just manage to reach out to Ormr, who immediately collapsed in a panting heap. Giga Drain had given him the energy to fight longer, and that was it. They were thoroughly drained from the fight. [break][break]

The fog of battle clouding Kaida's face finally broke as she was offered a badge, the gesture feeling completely out of place after a fierce fight like that...but a win was a win, and she had sufficiently proven herself. "T-thank you." She squeaked, not expecting praise for the frantic fight that had been this battle. She hadn't come with any particular strategy in mind besides the team battling and her ordering switches in focus as needed. It wasn't anything special. "It was Ormr and Bragi, I'm just the leader." As she recalled Ormr and took the badge, her lips curved upwards and she held out a hand, "For Ormr and Bragi, I have to thank you. We...we need to know how these fights go." She emerged victorious now, but this wasn't a truly life-and-death fight, but she had to acknowledge it. "I never seen you before, but your Pokemon felt powerful." Likely just a result of her lack of familiarity with figures like this, she figured, but it was true.

Kaida had thought the development would be interesting, and she was more than a little interested in seeing somebody else alive in the same manner as her. If so, then it had to be the tree, and not some unknown quality of hers. "Thank you, I'm curious as well...strange to be the only one with something frightening like this happening to her." A blessing, to be sure, but for what? It was only natural that whatever revived her, and any others, likely did so for a purpose, and she could only imagine she was alive and expected to pay it back. If not to the tree, then something in this world...the Pokemon? The adoring thought almost made her smile, her life for Pokemon, wouldn't that be great? [break][break]

The start of a smile fell off her face at Fernando's next question, her immediate thought being to obscure Lars own knowledge of her. Still, she couldn't claim nobody...blatant lies like that were her hate, and she had no desire to fall back on it. "The hospital staff knew I was alive. Checked me thoroughly before I was released. I...tried to find my rescuers, but I never found them." It was true, she never did find Selena, and Alexei had been somebody else when she was rescued. She hesitated as she thought up one last person, and blurted it out with a sigh, "I did see Illeana, and her me...we're friendly in some manner, though I don't think she knew I died." And that was it, a sufficient amount of truth before she shrugged non-commentingly, "Some other people must have saw me, but surely they didn't know I was Kaida." Lars would be safe, and surely they couldn't punish Illeana for not knowing she was dead. Everything would be alright as she looked the picture of stupid and smiled, white teeth lying about her false happiness "Really, I think the only people that matter that know I'm alive is my team here."

Kaida looked around for any remaining things to destroy, knowing the challenge wouldn't be complete unless she and Dain managed to demolish everything around them. As she looked around, Dain was in the throes of a Sword Dance. [break][break]

"There." A set of mannequins had popped up, looking cushiony and soft. Perfect to tear through, but one needed to be sure their Pokemon wouldn't be trapped in the cotton. "Slash it." [break][break]

Still unsure of the whole serious nature of the sport, Dain tore through the softer obstacles like a whirlwind...a very happy one. [break][break]

Sadness and a deep grumble of anger fought for dominion in Kaida's stomach, something she sencierely hoped nobody could hear. It was stupid to be so distressed over something not even physically encroaching on her, she thought. Maybe Selena asking for her opinion-on the League's actions!-wrenched her out of it, balking slightly as a familiar excuse crawled its way up her throat, "I don't think I'm smart enough..." [break][break]

She'd been trying hard not to look upon her singular audience, but finally broke to glance over at the Ekans loyally waiting for her to finish. Earnest. Simple. Above all, primal. She'd be conceited to believe she knew something on something she never was taught, but she never would say her way of thinking was useless to them. "...but..." She coughed, bottle plopping onto her lap as she stated at her hands momentarily, a message flicking through her mind in their movements she tried to decipher to spoken words, and continued, "I'd just say, protect what's ours," An animal idea. Territory was to be defended with tooth and nail. An enemy not stronger than them was to be confronted. As far as Kaida knew, they were not stronger than her. "That tree was ours, anything special like that pops up, we need defense, not a contest. W-we got power, we have to use it for our defense!" She wasn't talking about the half-assed guards they had left there. She was talking about her betters, those that sat idly in a contest or away, when she would think they'd be just as curious, even just paranoid. The white of her teeth showed briefly, a frustration yet relief flowing out of her as she spoke the words and, hopefully, thought they'd be heard. [break][break]

Suddenly composing herself, Kaida sat stock-still. Her hands didn't move anymore, her teeth were firmly held in her lips. Putting the fake politeness on like a leash, she followed it to the natural conclusion, "Sorry...those are just simple words, I thought I'd just leave something." Words meant nothing, but words on this media seemed to influence plenty, she only hoped their efforts were enough.

Kaida and Vani trailed behind, the only good thing about their predicament being that she could see how each of her teammates were handling the obstacles and somewhat copying them. It was only nearing the end when she decided that Vasni and her needed to move. [break][break]

At the Machoke dummies, she only have Vani a moment to observe the movements before the two of them launched forward. Dodging and weaving, Vani could only stave off some glancing blows. To the exit they went. [break][break]

The sport of this all was clearly simulating for the Scyther. While sport obviously didn't exist in the wilds, Dain was familiar enough with the concept of fun. Needless to say, this sport was fun. [break][break]

A stony wall encroached upon the team, and Kaida was no less determined to break through. "Sword Dance again!" She ordered, knowing even now, Dain stood no chance of getting through the walls. Pausing only just long enough to feel the rush of adrenaline from Sword Dance, Dain launched forward to plunge his claws into the walls. [break][break]
