near the last known location of regirock's tomb, several trainers have stumbled across an ominous opening. inside, they will find the ruins of the legendary titan, riddled with traps, treasures, and the mystical unknown. no one knows what awaits them but one thing is for sure — a new arc begins. despite the thin veil of peace, the public still faces unease.
after the ultra beast war, hoenn begins to heal. the megalopolan invasion may have failed; however, it is clear there is much more at stake. a prophecy revolving around a cyclical meteoroid, the appearance of necrozma and a dangerous and viral alien threaten the safety of the region once more.
with rocket's new boss, the resurgence and reappearance of the crime syndicate's presence is imminent. the league has done its best to repair its reputation, and with the victory of a war under their belt, perhaps it is enough. but the seeds of distrust have already been sown in the ravaged land of this region, causing many to wonder what will grow?
THESE MUSHROOM-LIKE POKEMON are notoriously dangerous. Stationing themselves near dropped Pokeballs, they remain terribly still until they can blow spores at those who approach. The League has requested for trainers to help clear them out of the rural route.[break][break]

the attempted capture will not consume a pokéball.
the amoonguss/foongus have movesets that will be revealed at the end of the event.

[attr="class","spiral"]There was always a lot to be said for sleepy towns, and quiet forests, and the wonder of nature at peace. It's therapeutic for the soul. It's good to give your mind the rest. Evangeline doesn't get it, never has. If it weren't for the Amoonguss apparently setting up camp in the area she'd be as far away from this amicable ambiance as possible.
"Would rather be breathing spores than all this pollen . . ." she complains, actually opting to hold her breath as she rounds a corner and suddenly finds herself face to face with the reported menacing group. She considers releasing the breath and taking another at the sight. Maybe her wish would be answered, that was the specialty of the known IMPOSTERS.
Nah . . . probably better to just try to catch one and run. Not enough antidote in the world to survive the kind of nasty a whole herd of these could dish out. Evangeline carefully dips a hand into her bag, pulls out an empty Pokeball, and chucks it.
Gavin has always been paranoid. Perhaps that's why he narrows his eyes at a pokeball lying on the side of a road. It looks innocent enough, but he's automatically suspicious of a trap. Hidden in the tall grass on the side of the road, he spots a much larger 'pokeball'.[break][break]
Ah. An IMPOSTER.[break][break]
He steps no closer as he retrieves an empty pokeball from his own belt, smirking as he lobs it toward the still shape.[break][break]
at least he'd been carrying around the gas mask for the past week; dominic dons it in a laconic, but practiced, motion as the amoonguss glower at him from the grass and try to spit spores in his face. it occurs to him only later that the effect wouldn't even be able to put him to sleep.
dominic feels a vibration in his pocket and glances down at his phone screen to see that yet another emergency meeting had been called at the submarine - why exactly he's not sure, but there are so many reasons at this point that he won't even try to guess. sighing, he throws a pokeball moreso because he's annoyed at the pokemon than for any other reason.
the swarm of amoongusses employs a very familiar strategy in depriving their victims oxygen to survive. poison and other spores are billowed from its body, sabotaging the person’s very own system that is proven lethal and palpable.[break][break]
selena tightens the gas mask before approaching one giant mushroom creature. “looks like i won’t be the one sleeping today, eh?”[break][break]
Leon hadn't seen this many puffing shrooms since he'd come across a hippie caravan in the canyons of Orre.[break][break]
The vicious fungi soured his mood with their mere presence. When he'd been called upon to help get rid of them, the red-maned man didn't hesitate to come on down.Together with his Typhlosion, and a homemade flamethrower, he would make short work of 'em.[break][break]
While local rangers held an EMERGENCY MEETING about the ethics of burning these troublesome fungi away, however, Leon had come across a hardy one that had managed to survive his Typhlosion's Inferno. He snickered as he lowered the spout of his flamethrower from it. The burnt little bastard stared daggers into his amused eyes.[break][break]
"Well, I'll be damned. One of you might actually be worth catchin'." Just for good measure, though, he raised his flamethrower once more and gave it a final survivability test.[break] [break]
Thomas, donning a gas mask, took a look around the area. One would say the species were impostors of a sort. Nevertheless, they were a clear cut menace to unsuspecting trainers, who'd fall for the trap of a discarded Pokeball. Needless to say, they were an all too common sight in Unova, so Thomas had years to get used to the little bastards.
"If this is enough for an emergency meeting, they'd shit themselves if they saw how Unova was.", Thomas remarked with a scoff.
Thomas would attempt to toss a Pokeball at one of them.
The dark haired woman has been remaining on a low profile for a while now. However, the call for assistance to get rid of a few amoonguss made her come out of hiding in hopes to steal one. Emerald orbs flickered to see the iconic pokeball laying on the ground. Lucky for her, she wasn’t that dumb to fall for the little trick. Her gaze shifted to her froslass as she hovered next to her. “Freeze it,” the woman mumbled, taking a step back to let her ghost and ice type do the work. Taking in deep breath, the froslass let loose a whirl of a blizzard in hopes to force it to come out and knock it out all in one. She snatched a ball from her pocket, ready to catch the wild creature as soon as it appeared.
owning an electrode of her own, vera knows better than to trust misplaced pokéballs. they're smaller here, of course. what they lack in size, they make up for in numbers. even disregarding the outbreak of
amoonguss in the area, there's quite a few pokéballs lying on the ground. empty or not, she doesn't know yet.
"careful, fondue. there's another over there." vera guides her alolan raichu on his usage of
to pick up the pokéballs. they have to be careful not to target any of the wild pokémon. she doesn't want to accidentally hurt the amoonguss while collecting the lost items.
once satisfied with their work, vera hi-fives her raichu. "come on, let's turn these in at the ranger station."
If there’s anything Katherine learned from sci-fi movies is that you always kill red first. Always.
Usually, they were the source of everyone’s problems - or an innocent bystander. The odds were stacked against the color, for some reason. And it’s exactly why the sight of the Amoonguss swarm causes her brow to quirk and a pokemon to be dispatched.
Red is always the impostor.
After a quick exchange of blows between the mushroom-like pokemon and her Sableye, the gym leader tosses a Pokeball with the sole intent of bringing down the threat level.
