LATE SEPTEMBER — as ultra wormholes are sighted in the seas of hoenn, the region begins to be tainted by poisons, the source of which is unknown. parts of hoenn's seas darken with toxic waste, like oil spills. for this reason, head scientist, lucas lane, has entrusted volunteers with a special antidote formula that he has helped create with elite four, thomas benoit's sludge sample.[break][break][break]

suddenly, off the coast of ever grande city, an ultra beast has been sighted. the absence of an ultra wormhole suggests the nihilego has stumbled upon league headquarters by chance. before it can relay this information back to the megalopolans, or even worse, summon an ultra wormhole, dispatch it using any means necessary. veterans of a previous encounter have detailed how effective ranged attacks seem to be at whittling the monster's health. however, their tales and descriptions of the monster don't seem to align with what lie right before your eyes. a menacing red aura radiates from the pokemon's tentacles, slick with toxins and the occasional remains of dissolved fish.

An Ultra Beast found near Ever Grande? This was the worse possible timing. And according to the reports from the previous squad... It was an ugly fight. The creature looked similar to the one that had captured Dahlia during the New Year drama, yet it was different in nature. A red Aura around the tentacles was pointing to more trouble.[break][break]

For some reason, the League had called upon Balder to assist them in pushing the invader back. Was it due to his knowledge of ultra space? Hard to say. But it seemed like the Elite Four and the temporary champions were busy, so someone had to do the job. Luckily he wouldn't be alone though.[break][break]

As he dropped on the land of Ever Grande, the alolan man called out his Typhlosion, Ash, and looked at their opponent. Definitely not the easiest of adversaries to fight against. But only through trying their best would they be able to fight such an opponent. According to the information given to the ex-gym leader, ranged attacks should be prioritized.[break][break]

And thus, he will move forward with that tactic. "Ash, full power. We're bringing that fucker down." The Typhlosion roared, taking a few steps forward before unleashing all of her flames into an Eruption, targeting one of those red limbs. As soon as the first attack went off, the fire creature focused all of her flames once more to chain a Burn Up on the target. Hopefully the others would be able to finish it.[break]

another one of these creatures had been spotted and pokkenger was on the scene to try and put a stop to it. still he needed to be careful, its poison was deadly given the reports of previous people who encountered as well as himself who've seen it in action. that's why he brought along his ninetails to deal with it. fire ought to snuff out its poison and at the very least it had a few psychic moves that could it throw at it to really do some damage. "ok stormbringer, let's show this big frillish what we're made of!" the hero shouted as he and the fox pokemon charged ahead while fire danced around them and a fire blast shot forward at the nihilego's body. would justice prevail today?

Having mustered something of a flock of Corviknight, Adrian had willingly conscripted them for League reconnaissance missions investigating the whereabouts of the Megalopolan invaders, which is precisely how it'd gotten into this mess.

Harrying the Nihilego proved fruitless. No matter how much it battered its exposed hide, the pokemon shrugged it off, seemingly indifferent.

Corviknight had encountered the corruption near Pacifidlog Town. Seen what the toxins could do to a pokemon. But this was so, so much worse...

Metal couldn't withstand the poison, it was too corrosive. Its confidence ebbed at the revelation. Its whole body had been perverted by a scarlet emanation, a sign of its unnatural potential, its sheer size unprecedented. But duty was duty.

And unto the cusp of a most bitter end it went readily, flirting with danger to buy time...

ARE THEY REALLY THE SAME SPECIES? It's hard to imagine that this Nihilego is the same as the others. Beside the obvious size difference, this one seems impervious to all attacks. As valiant trainers continue to rain down their barrage of ranged attacks, the Ultra Beast trudges on with impunity. The closer it approaches the more dissolved bodies wash up on shore. The watchful eyes of marcel maeda and Cillian Quinn are even able to discern what they can only presume to be Megalopolan among the remains. Unfortunately, it's impossible to scavenge, not without falling victim to the Nihilego's SLUDGE WAVE.

Grit and persistence eventually dissuade the Pokemon from breaching landfall. As strong as it may be, it too cracks under enough pressure. The glass like surface starts to wear down under constant fire. What was once an intense aura seems to fade away as it returns to sea. Several hours later, on the horizon, a bright pink light erupts into the sky. It lasts for minutes before never being seen again.[break][break]
