❝You?! I've missed you for far too long.❞
The
DARK PULSE and
SWIFT from Kazimir’s Pokemon meet their mark. The attacks are like darts against a target, piercing, damaging, but unimpactful against a resilient board. Not because Zygarde is durable beyond measure but because it’s berserk rage makes it impossible to read just how injured the Pokemon is.
Zygarde howls as the pelting attack pushes it back against a wall, scampering its long, slender legs in a desperate kick to steady itself. It needs decent footing in order to launch itself in retaliation. As it rises, it shoots an intimidating
GLARE at both the Shadow Ninetales and the Minior, looking to
PARALYZE them in place.
“
Elysia?”
Mucked by his powers, Fernando’s pull into the afterlife brings out the name of his first love. A wife, almost, tucked away well out of reach. He mistakes her silhouette for her before snapping to. He blinks, groaning as he cranes his neck upwards.
“
Katherine,” he corrects, roused from his slumber and thrust into a precarious situation. It doesn’t take more than a moment from him to recognize things have gone off the rail—what, how, to what extent? He still doesn’t know. But this is clearly not according to plan.
“
Fuck.”
He disregards her advice in a forceful push to roll over. It’s a half attempt to sit up but he flounders under the lack of response from his muscles.
Unaware, he earns the consolation prize of no longer spewing out his
MIND-ALTERING MIST. Those affected will live out the rest of its duration, anywhere from another five minutes to a good half-an-hour.
“
Katherine, we have to—” He never gets to finish that sentence. An eruption of thick roots cuts him off, coiling around his body in a protective casket. Ignorant to the unfolding chaos, unconscious during Zac’s proclamation, the Tapu Avatar views the sudden attack as nothing short of coffin.
And yet this coffin protects him from the poison spewed by Dunsparce’s
VENOMOUS HEAVEN-BUSTER. Remnants of the attack splash over the wooden branches, sizzling as the acid burns through like a hot knife through butter. It’s enough for him to start prying some of it off as he struggle to break free.
Until Fernando comes to, Tapu Fini spends its efforts in mending his internal organs with its
HEALING PULSE. This leaves the island deity exposed and vulnerable. Zac’s blessings is able to overpower the
MISTY TERRAIN, his rage more pronounced than Tapu Fini’s distracted state of healing.
Which makes it an easy target for Darkrai’s
DARK PULSE.
A corkscrew of sinister rays drill straight into the Pokemon’s chest. Caught by surprise, the Tapu Fini is subjected to the attack for several seconds before it can reclines back into its shell. Withdrawn, it endures, livid as it expels a
MISTY SURGE to take back the terrain.
Various plants have sprouted from cracks that never existed. This vegetation sprawls out across the room due to Zac’s
GRASSY TERRAIN. The noxious fumes of Tapu Fini’s
MISTY TERRAIN settle on top of it, coating it like a fog machine, coming together as the stalks of weeds bloom into fae flowers.
But make no mistake, this display of beauty is pure coincidence. There is nothing short of primal rage festering within Tapu Fini’s shell. It snaps back open in a show of lightning as
NATURE’S MADNESS reeks from the sudden stretch of new life. It crackles with a fury hungry to take just as much as it has bestowed.
The smoke from the still burning fire starts to get overwhelmed by the pink dust. While Tapu Fini attack rips from the power of nature around them, its own power starts to manifest in preparation of a true strike. Even Darkrai’s
HAZE will start to succumb to the wisp of human shaped pinkettes.
Meanwhile, Fernando’s Smeargle remains in the cramp ruination of a cabinet closer toward the entrance. The earlier command to hide had helped mitigate the impact of the blast but the Pokemon is still rattled as its tossed within the confines of the small space. Its
KING’S SHIELD earlier is the only thing that holds the cabinet together when layers of the roof crumbles, keeping it safe as it parts the cabinet door open to peek outside.
It remains inside, observing the situation unfold, far enough away that it’s only mildly exposed to the
MIND-ALTERING MIST. While it still has a string of its sanity in check, it keeps watch, hand raised for an opportune
SNIPE SHOT.
When Chu-e peeks over the exposed roof, the Smeargle sees him through the smoke. It doesn’t know whether he’s friend or foe, blissfully ignorant as the Pokemon only seeks a way out of being trapped in the middle of the battlefield. While the Underboss aims his shot, the Smeargle points its tail at him, casting a
SPOTLIGHT that pulls everyone’s attention onto him.
Anyone looking to pick a fight will find themselves drawn to Chu-e. Whether it be Fernando’s influence, or the fact that Chu-e seems to have a punchable face, matters not. The end result is the same.
There’s a new unified objective:
beat his ass.
