Selkie the Primarina was on the case. she had been sent by her trainer to clean the streets of Hoenn's Slateport. she flops rather awkwardly around before unleashing her water moves on the graffiti that plagued the walls of one building.

curious like a water mammal, she tilts her head at the broad and colorful display. only the arrival of others helping caused Selkie to break out of her stupor. she aims a Hydro Pump at the wall, effectively washing it.

Today, it was graffiti-cleaning day.

So where was Ryujin in all this mess—

Why, helping out with the other Pokémon, of course!

Seeing as there was a need for one particular move in her arsenal, she was only too happy to oblige once she’d been dropped off by Lars with the promise that he’d be back by the end of the day to pick her up.

Either way—

It was time to get to work.

Taking aim at another section of wall, she took a deep breath before exhaling a powerful blast of Hydro Pump-fueled water onto the wall.

Pressurized water removed the years of filth built up in the concrete the same as it would purge the residue and detritus from constant pokemon battling. Globs of poison sludge and leftover sticky webs were just some of the examples they came across, to name a few. They worked over the city's streets methodically, dousing with a professionality and precision that warranted proper compensation by Slateport PD. ~~Make it rain.~~

Ah, young people these days with their colourful walls and their total disregard for maintaining a pristine urban aesthetic.

The old Samurott shook his head disapprovingly as he walked down the filthy streets of Slateport City, wondering what had happened to the times when Slateport was no more than a bunch of little houses along a shoreline... Had he lived during those times? Obviously not, but he still wondered and craved for simpler times, alright?! [break][break]
People were just so filthy these days. Take his trainer, for example: his place was always kind of a mess, but for some reason he thought the Samurott should go help clean the streets instead. No, no, it was Vic who needed help!

Frustrated by his own thoughts, the pokémon aimed a HYDRO PUMP at a wall covered in nonsensical signs, neatly going from top to bottom and side to side. And, won’t you believe it… there was some nice brick under all that muck!

"blastoise squad, move out!" while a squad would normally have more than one member today it was just pokkenger and his own blastoise working as a team today. 

their mission? to clean up the streets of hoenn, literally!

together with the other pokemon that were helping out the duo ran around every street corner with pokkenger pointing out all the graffiti he could find and signaling his pokemon to blast it away with a hydro pump. even if the paint had started to dry it was no match for the power of pressurized water and a can do attitude! "one down, a bajillion to go. c'mon roger we can't slack off now!" the superhero called out as he ran ahead with his blastoise tucking itself into its shell and rolling along the sidewalk after him.

the directions were simple ⁠— find art on the wall and yeet it into oblivion. so aiono did. obscure art work, and the random tags of dozens were obliterated beneath the cannons intense pressure.

oddly enough, as aiono did his work, he could've sworn he spotted another blastoise with... a weird human. the cobalt turtle chalked it up to his imagination, and returned back to his dutiful work, longing for a nice day in the water.

cleanliness was next to godliness, or something like that.

the joy of living in a pokemon world was that pokemon were nice to have. they have a wide variety of moves that constitute as supplements for most activities for humans. it also meant that they're just tools you use when high-pressure hoses and the like weren't available.

that's how kyle's dragalge found himself in a power-washing job, except he's the power washer. a hydro pump goes to wash the walls with a strong enough current to wipe graffiti off the wall. paints and such get wiped off from the surface with ease.

good job dragalge!

intel. that was his task for the afternoon.

[break][break] of course, jayden had been very clear. it was not difficult to masquerade amongst all the water types that commandeered the city, the dratini slithering along the various nooks and crannies like a snake. he observed all of the other pokemon, eyes sharp as to look out for anything suspicious or helpful to bring back to his master.

[break][break] "hey, you there! what are you doing?"

[break][break] dagr glanced at them, a side-long glance. he yawned before releasing a hydro pump at some grafitti on the wall next to him. surely that would satisfy them for now. then he could get to the real task at hand.

[break][break] the bright neon red of a rocket R logo looks droopy, it's paint sliding off the walls, in slateport's lower district.
