—the bamboo shifts again, a sea of stalks that move as if living beings. the situation was uncoiling into a proper shit show. his favorite. but not even he was suicidal. king had something to live for now, after all. "fuck it all." he sets off after the trio, his FALINKS following right-behind. like theo, it stood ready to PROTECT him and those inside of it's protective sphere at a moments notice.

running was something he never wanted to do it. it was cowardly, weak, annoying. he felt like MATIAS SILPH and the other cowards he worked with. it was nearly enough to have him spinning around to face the assassins. nearly. but the lives of those around him were meaningless. the deaths of his fellow rockets would provide an adequate delay.

Remi shifts the small bear onto her other hip, doing a double-take as she notes something green and sparkly pinched between tiny bear claws. The Teddiursa gnaws on the piece of jade absently, and Remi chuckles.

But that chuckling soon turns into silence as the world around them begins to shift. The bamboo rattles, the rest of their mottley crew tear down stalk after stalk as they advance. Together, they press on - but.. something changes.

Remi glances down at the stalk in her hand, skimming over the letters that bleed through the shallow cuts in its surface. In the heat of the moment - as it soon would be - she can't make sense of it. Instead, she hugs her Pokemon tighter to her chest and her brows come together.

"What--"

Theo's warm hand presses against her shoulder, pushing her forward. She moves without thinking, and she does not look back. There is only forward now as the bamboo comes crashing around them, as the unseen, obsidian assassins loom ever closer. Haste trickles, cold dread down the back of her neck. But she keeps running, the Teddiursa obedient as it curls into her chest. It cries in fear, but she doesn't care let go.

KING WAYLAND's Falinks fall around them, enacting a PROTECTIVE barrier. For that, she is thankful, but she cannot repay the favor. If she shifted now, she might drop the cub in her arms.

"Hang tight, baby-doll, we're in for a bumpy ride."

The Teddiursa, meanwhile, peeks over Remi's shoulder to present wide, BABY-DOLL EYES. Perhaps, just maybe, if their attackers saw the defenseless, pleading gaze, they might hesitate and let them go.

Nearby, undeterred by what is going on, Remi's Unown-K hovers near her head, matching pace because it can float.

when walsh dropped her off, she didn't think that she'd be suddenly slapped into the middle of a chaotic cesspool of bamboo. it wasn't exactly safe either and - if she hadn't known any better - she'd think that he's trying to get her killed. her the woman's immediate reaction is to hover her hand over her appletun's pokeball. thankfully, however, another man seemed to be more charitable than the rest as a dome (luckily) covers where she's spawned. [break][break]

and heeding the man's words, she glances back to the poor, poor soul who's been spawned into this fiasco with her - more to briefly confirm that he came in, not too far behind - before running, sending out a salazzle to speed along with her. "fire lash and clear the path!" she commands the salazzle, who quickly swings her tail, coated in flames, to sear through the bamboo blocking their ways as the trainer dashes to safety.

There’s rumblings of what’s on the bamboo but Mint isn’t quite able to think on it too much. He’s too busy trying not to whip his head around and have his video glasses go flying. He’s not even sure if it’s still streaming anymore, but at least the video aspect was sound. His eyes darted around watching as one strange looking pokemon after another came flying out of the woodwork, literally. His partner about to let about a burst of cold energy but they quickly hone in on specified prey, two of them a little too close to his own group. [break][break]

“Tella, we’re moving!” he said not about to confront the strange pokemon as he watched most of the people he knew rush off. Fuck this shit then. The Abomasnow’s alabastor attack fizzles out as she ran after him. “Let’s catch up to Chu-e Choi and then others. They might need help.” He said as the pair sprinted forward moving onto the carved paths others had made for them. “We’re moving in, ready a Wood Hammer if those things get too close.” He said catching sight of one of them and fidgeting with his glasses to zoom in on them. They could analyze that later. After staring for a few seconds, he put his focus back on the chase, focused more on safety than really investigating. He only wished he had a flying type. Maybe the footage would be better that way. [break][break]

Nothing like another dance with death, really. Honestly speaking, he hadn't entirely known what to expect upon landing (it was already off putting enough to have been rushed, but really, shit happens), so simply speaking, he'd done his best to prepare himself for anything and everything that could and would happen. He'd been rushed in with a thankfully familiar face within lingering moments, but sadly enough, familiarity, alone, proved to provide little source of comfort and the like in the face of what they were thrown into. Needless to say, his attention snapped instantly towards the barrier overtaking their position, but as jarring as it was, it took little time at all for him to realize and appreciate the protection.[break][break]

With a sharp gaze, he braced himself upon entry into the fray, tossing out a familiar capsule of a similarly familiar, mismatched creature, and as it sprung to life from its confinement, he rushed along within the trail of the woman accompanying him without so much as a moment's worth of hesitance upon arrival. As it ran after him within his own trail, it seemed to give a sort of garbled roar as an energy of a spurred Dragon Dance enveloped it.[break][break]

"Gonna need a Hell of an unwinding once all this is said and done...!" he called with a raised tone, sprinting with swift, heavy footsteps as he turned his gaze towards the woman in front of him. Save for a sparing glance towards their surroundings (all for the sake of evasion as necessary, of course), he eyed her with a light chuckle in his tone, despite the situation. "Think you'd be game to join me, after~?"

"Interesting," Pryde remarks as he notes the strange symbol on the bamboo wondering what it could mean. Was this something left by a pokemon? Or was this just considered normal within this dimensional jump into a tree with an area clearly bigger on the inside like some phonebooth of some fictional show. [break][break]

That's when the shifting begins and everything is loud as the bamboo is closing in on itself and there is only one way to go. Part of their men blocked by unfamiliar pokemon.
