It had been a long time now since @chloe had passed her to Angelo’s care, following the traumatic experience of the excursions and yet still the rustling of the kites made her twitch. [break][break]

(She had, in fact, come a long way since last year even though she couldn’t see it. Last summer, the Drampa had hid behind a small family after a particularly large wave had nearly crashed into her on the beach.)[break][break]

With a low groan, eyes closing shut in something akin to dread, the dragon hesitantly FLIES upwards. Nervousness following her like a little rain cloud. The kites were scary… [break][break]

At least with her CLOUD NINE ability activated, a stray wind wouldn’t blow them in her direction.

Goldie didn't know what to do. On any other occasion, this would've been all fine and good. But unblinking green eyes had spotted a food-shaped kite (that being an Arrokuda) and saliva was already pooling at the edges of her beak.

The Cramorant took to the skies with several uncoordinated jumps and the desperate flapping of stubby wings - that she managed to take off at all was one of those deep mysteries of the pokemon world.

She tried to keep her distance. She really did. But the brown scales kept flashing at the edge of her vision and suddenly she was behind the Arrokuda kite, beak open wide.

"GOLDIE!"

The warning came too late, half of the kite already having disappeared down the Cramorant's gullet. Down on the ground, the wailing cries of a heartbroken child caught some people's attention.

Pinching the bridge of her nose, Skyler Dross recalled the disaster bird.

It has been quite some time sense her master has summoned her assistance for something. In fact, her master has never requested her assistance in anything sense the day he capture her. And honestly, she had no complains. The male took very good care of her sense their first encounter and was quite content with fulling his request to help on this job. Maw opened wide in a yawn, felling rather doozy despite having plenty of sleep over the pass few years.

The golden dragon waited patently on the ground for the kites to rise, gaze flickered over to the other pokemon whom would be helping her help them. A broad sleepy grin spread across her mouth, giving them a plate nod in greetings. She was blessed enough by her partners to be giving the ability of CLOUD NINE which should make this whole thing a lot easier to accomplish. And when it was time to go, the drampa lifted into the sky and floated several feet above the highest kite. She watched the toys move in the breeze, carefully moderating them to be sure they don’t get tangled and the weather would stay clear until she was done.

Jazz might have been a recent addition to the team but that was no matter to her. She easily fell at home with the other's. Serena knew right away that she had a dynamic and bold personality. But just like everyone else Jazz had to earn her keep. Unfortunately for her master Jazz was in no mood to do these trivial things.

They were beneath her after all. She could've been put to better use than to be helping untangle children's kites. As she flew and untangled yet another kite she seemed to be done with it all. Still, even she knew her trainer's watchful gaze was on her. This was a test, an annoying one, but one nonetheless.

A shout caught her attention as she looked a crying child's face. It would seem their grip had slipped and their kite was being carried away by the wind. Annoyance and frustration was written all over Jazz but she assisted nonetheless and managed to fly with speeds a catch the kite and deliver it in the hands of the surprised child.

From a distance an amused smirk could be caught on her master's face. One she blatantly ignored with a defiant huff.

So the gig here was:

Send Drampa, have clear skies for flying kites. Right?

Or something along those lines!

What tickled this old man dragon’s emotions was that there were several other Drampa just like himself, hanging around and watching those weird paper squares that were slowly being raised into the sky.

Oh, was there a chance of rain?

But with so many of the squares being cast into the sky, the chance of the weather turning foul was—next to none!

Because Drampa were heralds of good weather, what with their Cloud Nine ability and all that.

Fly, paper kites of wishes and dreams!

A simple enough PokeJob. Use Cloud Nine to clear the skies for some kites. For Josh’s Swablu, this was a simple task. The Swablu soared into the air with a gleeful expression as it ducked and weaved along with the kites, playing with them and urging the kids to direct the kites at the Swablu as it challenged them to try and catch the cloudy birdy with their kites.

This had been all well and good until Cramorant ate a kite.

This sight horrified and disoriented the poor Swablu. That poor kite! That poor child! What kind of monster would eat a kid’s kite? Swablu nearly careened into a bunch of kites, but it would be saved by being recalled into its Pokeball. Josh had come to check on Swablu, and had witnessed the display. The poor thing.

The day had gone smoothly so far. While the hustle and bustle of the beach was keeping everyone busy, the work itself was easy. Fun, even. Then, without warning, the wind shifted, the sky darkened, and a flock of Wingull descended upon the beach like…

Well like a flock of Wingull at a beach.

Before the pesky sea birds could set to work bringing chaos to the white sands however, they were met midflight by another, larger shadow. The Salamence opened his massive jaw and let loose a terrifying roar, Intimidating the flock into retreating further down the beach, to the cheers of the kite-fliers below.

George paid the beachgoers no mind though, apparently more interested in having something to chase than actually saving the day as he raced after the Wingull.
