“Aw, not charades?”

Adam’s drawl came out as soon as he knocked down another shot and watched what happened instead—and very nearly got beaned by a flying bag in the process.

“Whoa, okay, bloody hell, this is a lot more… exciting than charades, that’s for sure,” he yelped as he rubbed the side of his head. Yikes, talk about splash damage area of effect!

Anyway—

He then set the shot glass down for now, but held his hand out to indicate he’d be back. Since nobody was stepping up to the plate, might as well go first, eh?

He then realized that majority of his Pokémon companions were on the larger side of the scale, so he decided to go with his Heliolisk. At least this one was humanoid-sized; all he had to deal with was the huge-ass frill around his neck.

Picking up one of the bags that had dried Cornn berries in it, he pondered how best to get it as far enough as he could—and then wound up like a baseball pitcher and sent it flying.

Of course, his Heliolisk was quick to chase after it, smacking it farther with a Quick Attack and hopefully, just hopefully, landing the damned bag into the hole…

A playful smirk tug at his lips, but just as Mars is about to give a no doubt extremely witty response revealing how it is that he recognized Cillian Quinn, a familiar voice interrupts their conversation. ”Hey, Lis. I could say the same to you.”

Alas, amaryllis karneva is not the sort of person in front of whom things like secret identities should be discussed, and while the words ’Does Killian know you’re here?’ rest at the tip of his tongue, he’s well aware that Killian Decker probably wouldn’t want him to make the underboss aware of the fact that he has a sister. So, he smiles in that nonchalant way Mars often seems to do, introducing the two.

”Finn, Lis. Lis, Finn. Did you come all the way here for the games? It sounds kind of fun..”

Speaking of games, it’s at that moment that virgil roach announces the first one will begin. Cornnhole, of all things.

A sip of gin and the glass is set back down, an Inkay being called out of a perfectly polished Luxury Ball. The small squid floats in the air besides him, twirling in excitement. And in the corner of his eye, just as he picks up a cornn bag, Mars notices no other than angelo vestri, shooting him a look that may just say ’You better not bring out your damn Decidueye.’ With a smirk, of course.

Good at reading people though he might be, Gavin has no reason to suspect there's anything unusual about the girl that joins them. Just a friend of Martín del Mar, he thinks, and it's left at that. He tucks long hair behind his ear, not used to how it falls across his face.

"Pleasure to meet you, Lis."

He smiles at amaryllis karneva, then turns his attention to the game. Cornhole?

It seemed simple enough.

It's a risk, bringing out a shadow Pokémon here of all places, but his Breloom isn't one of those most widely known and isn't cursed with the black crystal shards to identify her, either. No, this one had been given to him by one elijah gardner, and he felt safer letting her out in public. Of all his Pokémon, he thinks she'd possess the meanest right hook.

"Just try not to break it, Psel."

He tosses up the bag, and with a sharp SKY UPPERCUT she aims to send it flying... but his warning seems to have held her back more than he'd thought. Bummer.

Memo is taking a deep pull from his beer-- a dry sour, but not a bad one-- as he listens to Adam Lycaon proclaim his desire to remain sober for at least part of the night. “Where’s the fun in that?” he asks after a swallow, smile all white teeth and boyish exuberance. Adam admits his fun is more the tabletop variety, and he’s hoping for some card games later on in the night. “You ever been here before?” Memo asks, readjusting to place his beer back on the bar. “I haven’t, but I read the comments on the Game Night Post. It might be heading more towards strip poker if you’re not careful.”

The bartender came to refill Adam’s shot glass and Memo asked if he could have one, too. “Yeah, Spikemuth.” The alcohol was bitter down his throat, as if in honor of the bitter taste his home left in his mouth. “You too, it sounds like. Bit distant. Southron?”

The cowboy-- for lack of a better word or more apt description-- is at the mic before Adam can answer. He announces the game has been changed to cornhole and Memo laughs, in a good mood and just the tiniest bit heady from being most of a beer and a shot in. “Had to pick a game I’m fuckall at. ‘Sfine.”

Shivani appears in a flash of white light and a beaming smile. Memo holds up the cornn beanbag and bounces it in his palm once or twice. “Ready, Shiv?” he asks, waiting for her assenting nod before artfully underhanding the beanbag towards the opposing board.

Shivani seems to back up and fade out of view slightly (going ghost, as it were) before darting forward and hitting the beanbag with sucker punch.

He welcomes another burning trail of whisky down his throat before it's lowered to the counter, contents pleasantly roughening vocal cords with its heat. Nowhere near as warm as the competitive spark that tingles up his veins, however.

“Mind keeping an eye on that for me while I throw?”

Angelo doesn’t wait for FERNANDO SILPH or Alexandra Briarwood to respond, abandoning his glass temporarily on the bar in a chorus of scraping chair legs and a little whistle.

Martín del Mar would soon wish he had brought his Decidueye to the party.

Sauntering through the forest of human legs that crowd the establishment, a menace appears from its nosy scout around Ritual.

Angelo scarcely pays attention as the Wingull flutters up to take a perch on his shoulder, his eyes snagging on a familiar hook of sharp, gunmetal grey. Catching Remi Cassel ’s scrunched up glare with a far smoother curl of his lips.

His dare neat like whisky yet burns, lingers, on the tongue.

“C'mon, Cassel. You here to play or what?”

Casually tossing a cornn beanbag her way, forcing her to participate with him lest she get smacked, Angelo scoops up a second.

Throwing his skyward, the Wingull slaps it out of the air with a WING ATTACK towards the board.

Taking a seat beside Martín del Mar, Amaryllis does her best not to knock over any little ornaments on the counter. "So uhm... if you don't mind me asking, are you two colleagues? Work partners perhaps?"

It pays to listen to the game introduction, and Dianthus soon grabs a beanbag for Amaryllis to throw. She watches the object fly, and being the Copycat that she is replicates a Wing Attack.

"Good." She smirks, takes the drink offered, and is not the least bit subtle in her devouring while he wants away. She even lifts the whiskey to her lips, brows raised and expression pointed. That was a fine piece of ass.

But then he introduces a game, and given the invitation said 'Game Night', she had to take part. She takes her drink with her and rounds up her cheeky teddy bear. With a nudge and a nod, she encourages the Teddiursa to mimic what Boomer had done.

Before she officially moves, though, that familiar face down the length of the bar pulls her attention right back. Her reaction is animalistic, feral. He's tossed a bag at her and she catches it clumsily against her chest, nearly spilling her drink.

"Keep that attitude, kid. See how far it gets you."

She tosses the cub the cornn bag and Teddiursa swings at it with a SLASH. Remi winces as claws tear at the soft fabric holding everything together. Maybe it would land before it fell to pieces and spilled everywhere.

it’s a close match. both blue and red teams have hard hitters and noodle arms, respectively. that’s okay. nobody can be good at everything. perhaps this next game will go better for some.[break][break]
roach approaches the mic again. ”alright, folks. that was a very close game, but blue pulled ahead by 3 points. miss amaryllis is your cornnhole champion. well done.” he claps, giving a whistle and then moving on. [break][break][break]
”we got darts, next,” he announces, gesturing to boards on the wall. a short explanation follows, and the games begin. meanwhile, the bartenders lines up free shots. payapa puckers, which will be featured at the new location. they contain sweet payapa simple syrup, sour lum juice, and rye whiskey.

RULES GUIDELINES

INSTRUCTIONS

please refer to page one for game night rules. there are no sign-ups. [break][break]
this is a team vs team style tournament, but two people will face off at a time per board. feel free to write your match with an npc, or against another character on the opposing team in your posts.[break][break]
*** if you have not participated in game night yet, roll once ahead of your other rolls to determine your team. evens are blue, odds are red.[break][break]
roll three times for your three dart throws. these would be thrown by your character.
keep your highest roll of the three dart throws for your total.
you may roll a fourth time to cheat with your pokemon. manipulate the dart in some way to better your chances, or maybe sabotage your opponent in some way. flavor it however. if this roll is above 50, add 20 points to your total score. if below 50, subtract 10 points for being caught.

SCORING

whichever team has the least players will receive NPC rolls to even things out at the end of the round, since the participating numbers teams will always be shifting.
once rolls are made even (at the end of the round), players on the winning team will receive a 20-point bonus to their total.
the highest roll (or rolls if tied) for dart throws regardless of team will win an additional 20-point bonus and regular gacha roll via mad.

"Congrats," Gavin says to amaryllis karneva, not seeming bothered by the loss. It's hard to tell what Psellia is thinking; the Breloom stands with a thin line of drool sliding from the corner of her mouth and pooling on the floor.

"On occasion," Gavin says mildly, when she asks Martín del Mar if they work together. He casts the Rocket admin a questioning glance, as if to subtly ask does she know what kind of work we do, or...? "Just friends, tonight."

Amber eyes gleam with muted excitement as the next game is revealed. He's always liked darts.

This time, he opts to throw the projectiles himself. Would that be to his benefit, or detriment?

virgil roach announces an end to the game and the name of the winner. Memo raises his half-full (perspective, right) glass and cheers. “Here, here! Nice toss, amaryllis karneva!” With that, he downs the remainder of his glass and sets it on the bar.

Listening as Roach explains the next game, Memo swipes two free shots-- one for himself and one for Adam Lycaon. “This should be fun,” he said, cheersing with the blonde and tossing back his shot. Shivani is sweeping around him in over-excited circles, accidentally phasing through those nearest to him, sending ghostly shivers up their spines.

He takes his darts and flips each one through his fingers before aiming and tossing them at the board. Thwack! Thwack!

“No look shot,” he calls, looking back at Adam with a wink as he fires his last one blind.

Congrats! Except that just as Mars is about to finish giving amaryllis karneva compliments on her spectacular cornnhole performance, something hits him right in the back of the head. ”What the hell…” When looking down, he sees that the projectile was actually a cornn bag. Tsk, and it looked like they were on opposing teams for the evening, to boot.

“Ah, finally, something I’m bloody aware of,” he cackled—shame that they were going to be going up against each other potentially, now that darts was the name of the game.

Now, while Adam had good luck with cards, it was his luck with projectiles that was… somewhat questionable because of the fact that his aim was best when he was mounted on Mudsdale-back and just about ready to poke someone’s head off with a nice, long, pointed halberd of all things.

He did fancy himself a knight, or a knight errant, after all.

“Thanks for the shot,” he said as he raised the glass in Guillermo Marceliño’s direction before downing it in one.

“I’ll get the next one,” he countered a few moments later, watching as the darts were literally going… all over the place.

“Hah,” he cackled afterward, once the board was cleared and he took his step up to the board.

“Let’s see whose aim sucks even more,” he went on with a smirk, as he picked up the first dart, took aim, and fired.

On went the second, and so did the third.

Now, much as he wanted to nudge a little… his Heliolisk just watched the proceedings with quiet confusion on his face.

A castaway from HOLON, Atlas didn't recognize any of the faces in the bar. Except for FERNANDO SILPH , of course. That rich bastard's face was plastered everywhere. In fact, he'd last seen him in a pretty funny shit-post about the CEO being a Megalopolan in disguise, but that was neither here no there.

Tonight? Tonight was date night with Ceri Glynn . And, in a room full of fellas who probably all had illustrious careers and their whole lives figured out, it was his chance to shine!

See? Stag nights and dorm parties hadn't all been for nothing, daddy dearest.

"Lucky charm? Sure, here," He responds, reeling her in for a quick peck on the cheek. "Good luck!"

Though the loss of Ceri's hand is most certainly felt afterwards, Atlas cheers her on as she takes her chances with the darts. An 84?! That was impressive!

When it was his turn to step up, however, he rolls an arm and flexes its muscle before cracking his neck. He pauses to turn back over his shoulder and wink at Ceri Glynn. Then, with all the grace of an ape threading a needle, he turns back and casts them.
