Logging in by the sword-in-the-stone, Adrian could hear the sounds of players having their 'soul' ripped from their bodies, thrown into the void of virtual death. And of course, he was going to join that chorus. For the promise of sweet loot, etc.

The eye glinted at him as it recognized the player in their third attempt, if memory served correct, of pulling sword-from-stone. Running a hand down the hilt, he clenched a fist around it, tugging away with all the beginner's luck he could hope for...

he comes back after he has died. "fourth time's the charm," he mumbles, still knowing that the likelihood of him pulling the sword out of the stone is near zero. trying's free though, so he'll try this until he gets tired.

kyle walks up to the sword and stares at it. multiple players have also tried and failed the rng roll, and he's about to do it twice in a row. his hand holds the hilt of the sword, watching the ribbon wrap around his arm.

"here goes," he mutters to himself, hyping him up before he readies himself to reappear at the spawn.

his hand grips the handle of the sword before he attempts to pull it out.

From what he heard through the in-game grapevine, there were some who had come ridiculously close, but not quite. He could only guess what the hell was up with that.

Hmm. What’s driving people to madness, to get this sword out of the rock… what if it’s a dud after all? He thought to himself as he watched the last player who tried to yank it out of the rock get… vaporized.

Shuddering, he then squared his shoulders and took a deep breath, wrapping his fingers around the hilt and attempting to drag the damned thing out.

Hyde wasn't much for video games. He hadn't taken much time to play the revolutionary new virtual reality game. How could he focus on extra stuff when he was hardly a pokemon trainer of skill yet? Not to mention his interests as a performer.

Still he made time to log on and check the game out. He had yet to make his avatar cool. He still looked like himself with was a little funny due to most all other avatars appearing surreal and different from sometimes even human form. It wasn't that he lacked creativity, he just hadn't scoped out this game yet.

He approached a sword in a stone that a group of players gathered around. The object seemed to be to pull the blade from the stubborn rock. Hmm, Hyde knew a story that went about like this. It was super lucky to successfully pluck the sword.

Hyde sauntered up, placed his hands on the blade and tugged. "I'll give this a try." He would be so surprised when he died and had to be respawned as he wasn't aware of that consequence.

Alike in so many ways...

Lurking nearby, Jesse have been watching the Honedge, battling inside her head whether or not she should try pulling it. Yeah, most people died pretty humiliatingly, but she could be different. She didn't actually rely on luck in real life all that often, but was pretty sure she had good luck, if her lucky throws when catching Pokemon, or when her Pokemon listened perfectly when she gave orders for thieving. And then there was the prize temptation, her biggest motivation.

And just the thought of the prize would convince her to emerge and approach the Honedge with a confident step. She couldn't help it, rewards would always be important in her mind, and unlike real life, she wouldn't actually die! So she gripped the Honedge with both hands, taking a deep breath.

"Come on come on super good prize...!"

She finds the time to pass through the area and like a stubborn moth to a flame she moves through the crowds to find the honedge again. Surely she should stop and she should learn but the lack of true consequences gives her a much needed outlet for her own smoldering determination.

This time Isra does not hesitate. She reaches and pulls with a stern face. She'll get something out of this one way or another.
