AS THE SUN SETS ON SLATEPORT, a horde of alolan marowak practice their fire performances by the lighthouse. they do this in the hopes of impressing each other; however, some do it to garner favor from possible trainers. it's an impressive sight. however, watching for too long inspires a cool shiver down one's spine, for the fires resemble floating spirits...[break][break]

ohana means family.

something that she has long since thrown away. hence, she's left staring out into the open, at the hoard of marowack with their own children. traveling, practicing, with other pokemon sitting on the sidelines and watching. they were ilke family, with how they were moving so elegantly. as a single unit, might she add.

pity, that she couldn't find it in herself to care even the slightest or their attempts at impression and efforts for practice. rana only smiles at the group, pulling out a pokeball and casually tossing it into the air, and into the crowd of dancing pokemon. they didn't seem to have a care in the world. and besides.

she's already lost someone. the pokemon wouldn't mind losing one of their own, would they? no, they won't.

with an amount of trainers approaching, they wouldn't have a choice.

Patterns of spectral fire draw Gavin's eye as he walks the Slateport streets at sunset, a particularly rambunctious Rockruff pup tripping at his heels. When the Rocket stops, captivated, the puppy keeps going and stumbles into his calf.[break][break]

An amused huff escapes him, and Gavin leans down to give it a brief pat before returning his attention to the Marowak.[break][break]

Their display was entrancing. It's never been a Pokemon he's taken an interest in, and yet something about the ethereal performance has him reaching for a spare pokeball before he can truly question his decision, throwing it into their small crowd.[break][break]

What a beautiful display. These marowak were obviously working very hard to perfect their craft, and Oscar could not help but stop ro qatch while passing through. Their technique was simply flawless, how did they teach each other? Was it nature? For nature to create something so dazzling is truly a miracle.

The marowak, in all of their grace, danced as fluidly as the ocean beyond the lighthouse. The sight of their green flames spinning in the breeze was down right magic. To ruin such a brilliant experience would be a truly heinous crime, which is why Oscar threw a pokeball.

Only pure evil would ruin such a scene.

The marowak scattered to the wind, all except one who just couldn't see the ball coming. Oscar watched to see if his devious deed paid off.

he watches the marowak with his chin in his hand, his golduck sitting beside him in the sand. the beach is not quite cold--not yet--and marcel finds it a large improvement from the atmosphere of the beach party. his eyes follow the haunted flames, blurring into circles as they spin. as beautiful as the sight is, he finds his expression settling into solemnity.

The groan that leaves Abner at the mention of pokemon dancing where they shouldn't has him so damn bored and annoyed. He had been enjoying his lunch break doing nothing, as per usual, when he received the call and made his way to the beach.[break][break]

Marowak's were something that hit home for him. The myths and legends behind them, the mystery, and then Alolan mutations to boot. Namely an Alolan mutation that looked like it had a different coloring. Don't they call it shiny, or something?[break][break]

Abner marched up to what looked like the ring leader and threw a ball. There were others gathered, which had him giving a friendly grin and pretending he didn't know them, since he was in uniform.[break][break]

While his ball tilted back and forth, he picked dirt out of his ear and flicked it off to the side. So much for that lunch break nap of his.[break][break]

Earl Grey seems content to weave himself throughout the wild performances. Whether this was simply a display of his finesse or whether the Ghost-types had come to some kind of unspoken accord, Remiel wasn't sure. Regardless, the royal was content to watch from a lighthouse bench, sitting snug with Isra Nightingale while one of his arms remained parallel against the edge bench.

"This reminds me of All Hallow's Eve in Hammerlocke," He remarks, the reflection of the spirit fire bright and blue against the panels of his black eyeglasses. "When the sun finally dips below the horizon, the Dreepy begin to scale the towering castle walls before descending into the inner ward like a cascade. A Dragapult sweeps through when the moon is full and unobscured by dark cloud, and our torches are suddenly enkindled with the blue flame of dragon's fire." He stops, shifting a curious (albeit mostly placid) look at his black-haired belle.

"Perhaps we might witness it together sometime."

When a rumor of an alolan marowak had been spotted in the light tower spread through out the region, Genesis was quick to respond. After all, they are partial ghost types. There was even a few whispers of a shiny one being seen. Although these were just rumors or stories, the woman was not going to pass up on it just in care. Traveling from one side of hoenn to the other and waiting for night to came, the woman ventured into the light house when the sun fell behind the horizon. Darkness fell upon the earth, leaving hardly any light other than half moon and stars that light up her path.

It was only when most of the hunters left for the night that Genesis hunted herself. Her gaze flicker down to her watch as it flashed midnight. A smirk tugged the edges of her lips. Perfect time for ghost types to appeared. Turning her attention back to the task at hand, the trainer moved her way through the lighthouse silently and carefully. She didn’t know if the rumors were true but didn’t want to rise losing her chance to catch on herself. And so, her hunt begins.

The Lighthouse, Alolan variation Marowak?

Sebastian didn't even need to be tasked by marie jules to go on the haunt...the hunt. Instead it was his pure interest in both the foreign type as well as the typical Marowak that drew him to the area. As usual the Pokemon swarms had drawn in quite the crowd and yet Sebastian moved through the waves of people as if they were only minute obstacles. Fishing out himself a Marowak in particular he'd task Dooku the Incineroar with battling it so he might capture the prize......

The flames danced around the ghost Pokemon as they practiced their forms, their movements. Rosalyn was impressed with the way in which they mastered the dangerous flames. The pink-haired girl sat a bit away from the Pokemon, Litty resting happily in her lap. The Litwick watched them with intrigue and Rosalyn imagined her partner moving up to the group of Marowaks and attempting to join them in their dance. The imagery made the trainer giggle, not that the ghost/fire Pokemon noticed as her gaze stayed fixated on the Marowaks.[break][break]

There was a crowd that was beginning to arrive to watch the show, many people commenting on different aspects of the Marowak's dance. Most people were interested and enthralled with the moving flames, just as she and Litty were. She smiled as she pulled her knees upwards, closer to her body, careful not to disturb Litwick too much. She saw a few trainers throwing Pokeballs in the direction of the wild Pokemon and she was a little unsure about it, but she was not going to miss the chance to grab a ghost type like them. They seemed so fascinating.[break][break]

Rosalyn tossed a spare Pokeball in the direction of the dancing group, curious if she might get lucky enough to keep on with her.

he was there to watch the show, but the longer priam looks at them, the sooner he gets bored with it. he wonders why people are even here in the first place and simply assumes that it's because it's some fancy stuff that he wouldn't even be able to comprehend.

the reasoning is laid bare when people start chucking their pokeballs at them. of course they want it. it's kinda fucked up, but priam understands why because he's definitely the person that will be swayed by peer pressure and societal norms.

his luxray starts to growl at them, and priam simply sprays at him before he starts attacking them like a maniac.

"no," he tells his pokemon.

with a pokeball at hand, priam joins the fiasco of taking whatever's left from the swarm of marowak. they look so weird compared to the ones he remembers from kanto, but he can't deny that the fire thing they have looks so cool. aesthetic is enough reason for priam to try for them.

The way the fire looms in the distance makes her think of one of her rare encounters with a relative when she was younger. The cousin had an Alolan Marowak, they named it pudge of all things (which she had always thought was stupid) and used to tell her something about feeding it wishiwashi on tuesdays because it controlled the weather. Or was it peanut butter sandwiches? Regardless the entire story had been nonsense.

Remiel Calcifet breaks her concentration with a story on his own and she finds it notably more enticing than her's, which she keeps to herself. Remiel will find her smiling as she leans into him just a little bit more. "I'd love a chance to see that, it sounds like a delight.' right up her alley even. So to speak. "Though where I comes from" a world layered beneath the world "Such a night calls for spirit fire much like this." she grins at the memory of dancing will-o-wisps, at how the pokemn and people alike ance amongst them.

Perhaps she'll share it one day with him much the same, though it's hard to say she's supposed to. Her ghot cackles in the distance as he seeks a marowak to antagonize. He knows of what she speaks as easily as she does.

watching the marowak do their dance sure was impressive. kazimir took a front row seat and watched them finish their routine and give them a standing ovation. his own marowak would often do the same thing during their time off. as they took a bow a few of them started to continue the dance and was followed by the others. an encore? well kazimir wouldn't complain, they were really good dancers. however he did have to take a pause when one of them didn't immediately follow and beckoned at him with a gesture. was it...were they inviting him to join in? well how could he say no?! springing up to his feet kazimir took a spot next to them and began to join them in their warrior dance as the sound of chanting pokemon and a human echoed through the harbor.

There was another disturbance going down near the Lighthouse, and this time…

It was something that made him stop and do a double-take. Blinking slightly, Lars decided to head over and see what the fuss was about—and was met with the sight of so many Marowak… dancing?

Okay, was there some kind of loony party going on here or was he seeing things? Blinking and pinching the bridge of his nose a few times, he thought his mind had just blanked out at the sight—they were fire dancing in a way, but…

Did he… did he just hear someone laughing maniacally in the distance? What the fuck?

Shaking his head to clear it of the strange things that were haunting him, he took aim and slung an empty Pokéball at the crowd of fire dancers. He hoped that his trip from the Seashore House to check the disturbance out was worth it.

Razz was definitely not impressed with the site he was seeing. He had heard that some Marowak were doing a show by the light house and being curious he was interested to see it. Though now that he was here with an ice cream in hand it was very much a surprise that it was a Fire type pokemon. He asked about it from another person in the festival and apparently the Marowak from Alola were fire pokemon rather than the Ground Types he was used to. Seeing the flames on the tips of their twirling bones did nothing but bring up his anxiety. Though at least Salem was having fun as he tried to copy their dances. [break][break]

Though it seemed that despite most of them being fire pokemon they still kept their original ground moves still as one of their dances finished up with a Stomping Tantrum making the very earth beneath them shake. Razz's good eye noting the ice cream falling from his cone, but not the empty pokeball falling from his belt and rolling toward the fire dancers. [break][break]
