Awkwardness aside it seemed the stranger had in fact seen Caterpies around here.

A sidestep allowed Elinor enough space to look into the room and sure enough there was Caterpie to be seen.

One, Two, Three… Seven to be exact. She counted them all and couldn’t help but say. “My, that is a lot of Caterpie. Did you leave a Window open and some berries out?” It was mostly a joke, but something in there had to have attracted them.

“Don’t worry. I can take care of this problem. With your permission I will also take a look around and see if I can find the source that is attracting them.”




MISSION: FOR THE SWARM
LOCATION:

Elinor did not fight the hug, nor was she the one to break it. To feel this unconditional love was something she needed even if she wasn’t sure she deserved it. But deep down she knew that it didn’t matter, Andrea would give it regardless.

Alas the hug was broken when all parties had gotten their fill of closeness and the topic moved on. Elinor found herself with a newfound lightness as if burdens and tension had been released from her.

“I have.” Elinor spoke. “Didn’t do particularly well though. But that certainly won’t stop us from signing up for yours, right Gron?” Elinor smiled, giving a quick glance toward the Aggron in the water. It made some bubbly rumblings from just below the water surface in acknowledgement.

“Is there a specific theme we should prepare for?”


MISSION: POST To Sow Dragon's Teeth
LOCATION: Lavaridge Hot Springs

Elinor gave Evette her full attention as the woman answered the question with surprising depth. A depth which Elinor knew she could not match.

“Sounds like a very lovely song.” Elinor replied. “I would love to hear you perform it one day.” An honest smile was beamed at the singer, hopefully proving that she wasn’t simply giving empty platitudes.

Meanwhile Elinor’s Shaymin had engrossed itself in the game. It did its best to avoid getting booped, but it fell victim in the end to the enthusiastic boop. Though the light tackle wasn’t enough to hurt, it did surprise the little rascal and sent it into a tumble that ended in laughter.

LOCATION: Forests bordering Verdanturf/Route 117

Gron’s Tail was soon joined by the tail of Andrea’s Salamence. At first Elinor was surprised, then Andrea waded closer and grabbed her face. Elinor stiffened slightly, not sure of what was about to happen.

Then the Validation bombing began. The carpet bombing was powerful and undiscriminating. It caught her by surprise in a way she had never thought it would. She knew Andrea was right. She had people that cared about her and that made her important to them. But one thing is knowing the truth, another thing is hearing the words coming from someone else.

The words struck hard and fast, and without even realizing it she felt the salty sting of tears welling up in her eyes. She felt her throat tighten as she attempted to form words of appreciation. In the end all that she managed to get out was two words.

“Thank you.”


MISSION: POST To Sow Dragon's Teeth
LOCATION: Lavaridge Hot Springs

The Pinkette gave a nod in agreement as the Dragon-enthusiast suggested to widen the search field.

Elinor picked another patch of tall grass, one a little bit away from her fellow trainer. Unfortunately she stumbled upon a majestic beast sleeping. It’s heavy breathing warning her of the very strength it bore.

Alas her stepping into its personal space alerted it to her presence. It rose, angry and annoyed. It roared and tried to jump at her. A loud piercing Talonflame-screech sounded as the fiery bird flew straight at the monster, jumping onto its face before raining a flurry of STEEL WINGs onto the Tyranita.

But the Tyrannitar was no weakling. It grabbed the Talonflame and threw it away. But before the bird would feel the rough ground Elinor got in between catching the bird and taking the fall instead.

But Tyranitar wasn’t about to let up. It charged at them THRASHing as best it could. Elinor dodged, rolled and got up on her feed as only an experienced trainer could with a Talonflame in her arms. All the fighting had spent the energy it carried. But that didn’t mean it wasn’t going to try.

But Elinor wouldn’t have it. With one arm keeping the bird from escaping, the other arm reaching for her Pokéball belt. She dodged another Trashing and then allowed another Pokemon to emerge.

The towering steel serpent rose high above the Tyranitar, making it pause as a new enemy entered. Once the initial fear had been overcome the Tyranitar proceeded, violently flinging ROCK THROWs at the Steelix.

The Steelix didn’t seem bothered. It swiped the pebbles away with its tail and then slammed an IRON TAIL down upon the Tyranitar, promptly pinning it to the ground and keeping it there until it admitted defeat or spent all of its energy, whichever came first.

Either way, Elinor would quickly throw a Pokéball at it.

“Maybe that’s enough capturing for one day?” Elinor commented, her debacle with Tyranitar having made her oblivious to the shocking Stunfisk development.

Unfortunate trainers had spotted what they believed to be a Rocket poaching operation, wisely they called for help from the local Rangers.

Elinor took the call but she had barely put the phone down before she had stormed off, and jumped onto her Salamence.

Clad in her Ranger Captain Uniform, and atop the scaled back of the Salamence Elinor flew toward the forestry parts of Verdanturf with great haste. The sun was setting,darkness had already lowered the visibility a lot, and it would only get worse with time. .

MISSION: MAKE IT DOUBLE
LOCATION: Route 117

As Elinor approached the stranger, she could swear she heard something grumbled barely audibly. She swore it was something about ‘another’ and so replied as such. “Another one?”

Realizing then that it might be the Flabebe behind her “Oh, no this little one is with me.”

“Say you wouldn’t happen to have seen some Caterpie around here?”




MISSION: FOR THE SWARM

Much like Josh Devlin, Elinor had procured herself a full-body heat suit for the occasion. Yet through all of this she could still feel the heat attempting to beat its way through, and it made her wonder if this was how Laurence Anderson felt whenever the sun shone just a little bit.

By her side a Hisuian Typhlosion walked around, sniffing the air in search of something, anything. But unfortunately it was not a trained tracker.

While Elinor walked around looking for clues as best she could, a question began to form in her mind alongside a worry. A worry which she decided to investigate.

“How are you holding up, Josh?” She worried what had happened to kyle lopez weighted heavier on Josh’s shoulders than he would let show. The tone in her voice made no attempts on hiding that.



LOCATION: Mt. Chimney

The competitive fire roared between the two trainers.

“Nice catch!” Elinor gave the competition a thumbs up. She had no intention of souring the experience with bad sportsmanship.

Unfortunately for her and Talonflame it seemed there was little prey to catch this time. Perhaps they would have better luck by moving area?

“Nice catch Gron!” Elinor praised her Pokemon.

A bridal style landing was achieved putting Lynette safely in his arms. Luckily Gareth would not need to fear as Lynette was not in Gron’s egg-group. And so their closeness did not distract from the battle.

Speaking off. Gron would weather the EARTHQUAKE with Lynette in his arms, trying to keep her safe as the force of the very ground washed over him. But even with that massive pain he pushed through and summoned a ROCK SLIDE in an attempt to help Lynette in capturing at least one of their opponents.
