Elinor watched the little riding performance that Shalin gave her. And to claim her surprised would be an understatement. She had thought the very moments of Treble would make it rather inconvenient to ride, but perhaps the Kommo-o adapted its movements to accommodate the rider.

By the time Nickit had been caught. Kaleo had dragged the Steel serpent to Elinor. An amazing feat of pure strength on its own. She quickly caught the creature within an empty Pokéball and returned her attention to the girl and her Kommo-o.

She made her way over there and while doing so she asked. “Am I right in assuming a saddle will be necessary?” Elinor asked. “I mean, I can only imagine how Kommo-o scales will tear clothes and skin alike from the friction."

The battle between Steelix and Kommo-o had caused quite a commotion, commotion which caught the attention of a Dragonair which slithered over to the gathered flock.

With happy coo did it ask what was going on?

With light growls one of the Kommo-o replied. And so the dragon-types conversed for a moment. As the older Female Kommo-o asked if the Dragonair wished to join their little troupe.

Seeking entertainment the Dragonair pondered it for the moment.

The display of knowledge that Josh performed pleased her. It seemed he was already familiar with the peculiarities of Shedinja.

But neither Shedinja nor Electivire was inexperienced in combat. The sharp gale washed over the battlefield. Shedinja knew it was a knockout if it was touched. But therein laid the flaw in Josh’s plan. It would have to hit.

Shedinja vanished into the shadow realm, consumed by its own shadow as it used PHANTOM FORCE to avoid the sharp gales but also attempt to attack the Dragonair from behind.

Electivire, being accustomed to Shedinja’s tactics, charged at the Dragonair from the front. An ice-blue frosty mist emanated from its fists as it would attempt to ICE PUNCH the Dragonair.

The wait was unbearable. The constantly looming threat of Meteno above them pushed Elinor to pursue activities that were so unlike her. With the sudden appearance of her little sister, a focus on her family had been forced upon her. And that particular focus was why she was now in Oldale Town. Looking for a cousin she had never heard about. She wondered if Laurence Anderson knew. He had to. It had been far too easy for her to find this person on one of those ancestry websites, so surely Lars had to know about her.

The Summer heat had receded, in favor of the autumn chill. Clad in more casual attire, a laid-back black jacket, and a pair of jeans. She looked like any other pedestrian were it not for her bright pink hair that flowed down past her shoulders.

By her side, a lazy Dragapult levitated along.

The pair of them quickly paced through Oldale Town, finding their way to a peculiar flower shop. She had honestly been surprised to see that there were other such stores, especially when considering Elisabeth Fiorelli ‘s floristry wasn’t far from here. But alas that was thoughts for another time.

With a well-trained firm grip did Elinor open the door to the place, walking through with the grace and atmosphere of a well-trained politician, even if she didn’t intend to appear that way. Dragapult following right behind her.

She hadn’t expected that anyone would make contact. People seemed focused on their own little group, and so she applied her focus to the equipment she was given. But a man’s voice accompanied by a Comfey chirp pulled her out of work mode,

“A fair assumption,” Elinor replied with a chuckle. “One that isn’t actually wrong. But even so, I do like to make time for stuff like this, even in the face of the apocalypse.” She admitted. Hoenn’s development wouldn’t stop even in the face of space rock.

And then @symon asked about her experience with diving. “A little bit. I am by no means experienced or certified. But I think I got the basics down during that Clamperl Diving contest at Splashfest.” She knew that it wasn’t reassuring, but honesty was the better path.

By then Eva Morales had made her way over to them and even spoken a few words. She gave a greeting nod in Dr. Eva’s direction as she answered, “Yeah the Turnout is much bigger than I anticipated.”

For a moment she pondered what they might find, but couldn’t even begin to imagine it. “I am also excited! Have you ever done anything like this before?” Elinor asked focusing on Eva, though she had not forgotten about Symon.

Kaleo was confident in the SPRINGTIDE STORM’s power. Perhaps a bit too confident. His dodge was lackluster, focusing instead on the offensive move. Winning the match meant providing the team with a big advantage. And that’s when he felt it. Dragonair’s DRAGON RUSH made contact as the Fairy-type Energies washed over it.

By the time the swirling vortex of energy faded Kaleo stood no more. Knocked out, Elinor recalled the Kommo-o to its Pokéball, gently whispering "Well done." before putting it back in her trainer belt. She then gazed toward the Dragonair. It seemed to have suffered the same fate. For a moment she felt a small sense of pride, while Josh’s Pokémon were as speedy as ever. It seemed he had worked on their power and endurance as well.

SCORCHING SANDS washed over Swampert. But if the Arcanine thought such trivial matters would stop it. Then a rude awakening was incoming. Sure, it was painful, but bringing dishonor to Elinor was so much more than that.

The Arcanine tried to retreat, a wise choice if his opponent wasn’t relentless and single-minded in its pursuit of victory. Unfortunately, Swampert possessed both those traits. Shimmering white energy began to glow across the entire body. Using SUPERPOWER Swampert began to pursue the Arcanine, intent on ending the match in a grapple should he come close enough.

Ever the helpful soul. And definitely without any potential hidden agendas, Elinor had signed up to help with the Excavation efforts of some Hoyeon relic. Though she was not much of a delicate digger, she knew well enough how to protect those who were. And so that was the crew she joined.

For a moment she looked around at all the people gathered there. Wondering who would pick which roles. But abandoned those thoughts as everyone was called to fetch an armband to signal which team they would be on.

Walking by some familiar faces she quickly fetched an orange armband before returning to the equipment provided to them. Making sure that everything was in working condition, even going so far as to make sure that her Pokéballs were in order.

The race continued. They just barely made it through the last obstacle, losing a sliver of time in the process. This time they did not take the jump as they came upon it, but rather slid down at full speed fighting ever onward for positions within the race. It was about time they began to apply speed, to fight for the front-row seats.

Seeing how the Onix was performed revitalized Steelix. Not intend to let a prior evolution take his spot. He would stare daggers toward Kaida Adachi and her companion.

Meanwhile, Elinor was looking ahead a sharp C-bend obstacle was coming up. There was only one thing to do. “We are drifting through that!” Elinor proclaimed. She’d seen at least one or two racing movies. Surely that would give her enough knowledge to perform this stunt, or perhaps she would solely rely on Steelix for this.

Steelix Agreed as it increased the pace using ROCK POLISH to smoothen its edges for the sliding drift it was about to perform. With no hesitation nor fear of failure, both trainer and Pokémon threw themselves into the Sharp C-bend, trying to drift along as best they could heedless of whoever was nearby.

For a moment sweet victory had been within her reach. For a moment she almost tasted justice. And then this foul member of Team Rocket threw their burning Pokémon at the walls of a civilian house. Eyes shot wide as she heard the screams. For a moment she considered sacrificing the few to end Elisabeth's reign of terror. But she knew she would be no better than Team Rocket if she did.

Elinor and her Pokémon charged to the house. Fires licking hungrily as she summoned her Inteleon who was quick to start spraying. Without regard for her own safety, heedless of what she might have been taught as a ranger did she storm into the fires followed by Inteleon.

They found the civilians hunkered in the cellar that had been blocked by rubble before they had noticed it. But she removed it and offered them a saving heroic hand as flames soot and smoke all worked together to try and end their collective lives.

By the time she got out Elisabeth and her Pokemon were long gone. But the grudge Elinor now had for the woman, certainly wasn't.

If she had hit a nerve, then Autumn didn't show it. But Elinor expected that, for all of her flaws she was still an Anderson. The criticism that she spoke in regards to the couch was valid. Not that Elinor cared much for the tone it was delivered with.

But Elinor wasn't the one who was truly affected by the criticism. No, that would be the Porygon-Z who now looked mildly sad. It had tried to create a place of relaxation. Decluttering to avoid giving people stress. But through Autumn's words it now knew it had failed.

"Well, that is for Java to decide." She gestures toward the Porygon-Z. "I will admit I do not spend a lot of time here, so I let them run the decor."

"Of course he did," she muttered beneath her breath. But the sigh that followed was one of genuine relief. Only four Pokémon. That was more than manageable, of course she was not about to reveal that. Instead she merely said. "That should be manageable. They will of course have to get along with my own Pokémon." She paused. For once the tension in their conversation became clear to her.

But she was not the one to try and break it. No, that would be the Rotom and it's phone speakers "Mistress Elinor if I may. I am sure you are tired from work. Would you like me to prepare some food?" The Rotom was clearly itching to get back to work and out away from the rock and a hard place situation.

And yet again Elinor found herself walking through the Maelstrom of time and space that yet another distortion created. By now, they seemed as much a part of Hoenn as all the other disasters that kept raining down upon them.

Accompanying her today was her recently evolved Goodra. Trudging along merrily as the two of them set out to keep the spawning Pokémon calm while the Distortion did its thing.

For once it seemed rather peaceful. Pokemon complied with their request and somewhere along the way she stumbled upon a Red Shard along the way.

By the time Goodra emerged alongside its trainer outside the distortion the Goodra had changed in ways she had not seen before.

Goodra changes its form to Hisuian Goodra.

Elisabeth’s words while clearly, a provocation meant for Elinor to bite at, carried truths even she could see. But that’s where they differed. She could be here because she had faith in her colleagues be they on Meteno or Mt. Pyre.

“Perhaps to you, it isn’t worth much. But to me, it’s worth as much as any other place. It is my sworn duty to protect Hoenn, ALL of Hoenn.” Besides, why would Team Rocket invade the place if it wasn’t worth much? Mossdeep, Petalburg, hell even Dewford would be worth more. Though she didn’t say the last bit, she definitely thought it.

Yep, Elinor was definitely biting this hook more than she ought to. Even she was aware of this. But why then did she do so? A nagging sensation in the back of her neck, a memory of her own failure to do anything the last time Hoenn was in danger. She would do SOMETHING this time, however misguided it was.

The Goodra was recalled and Tsareena took its place. Gardevoir had not been prepared for the speed at which Tsareena approached. The Sensation of a DRAINING KISS quickly took hold. Energy leaving the Gardevoir’s body.

By now Elinor realized that Gardevoir was not about to win a battle like this, nor should it be a priority as she was a healer. Quickly she recalled the Gardevoir from the Tsareena’s kiss. To take its place a giant serpent of Steel and Ground towered above Elinor. Its tail protectively curled between its trainer and opponent as it manifested.

“Fire Fang.”

Flames ignited in its jaws as the Steelix charged toward the Tsareena intent on consuming the tiny salad dancer.

Returning to the battle of Toxapex VS h!Braviary.

The latter Realized now that it had the upper hand in the air. Braviary grew confident in its ability to finish this match victoriously. Though perhaps that was wrongfully assumed. But it did not care to ponder it further.

Its wings began to glow an eerie pinkish color before it swung the ESPER WINGs in the direction of the recovering Pokémon. Hoping to finish it off with the sharp psychic-type blades that emerged from the attack.
