A strange headgear attached to Navy, along with little wipes taped onto him to capture his vitals. "I want to test the toll of your sleepwalking on your body. If you ever dip into Deep sleep or stay in REM for 8 hours." He'd pulled up a chair, leaning back on the plush back and idly moving back and forth as he looked down at his own notes and then at the ground. "This could be a covert tool for communication...if you could control who sees it." he noted, looking over the man's translucent body. He takes pause as the E4 turns his attention away from his strange consciousness and back to him. "Well, we're doing a full physical when you wake up. Luci allows him a moment to speak and so his eyes dip down in shame. "It's not...that there was a duplicate of you. I missed you." Terribly. He'd adjusted to the strange reality, but it could never truly give him what he wanted. Until it tried. And it failed in the end. [break][break]

He's easily oved, abruptly yanked forward and trying not to stumble over himself. His hand braces against the crook of Luci's elbow, and he's forced to look into cold anger. He'd thought once was enough. He'd promised himself he'd never push Luci to that again. Yet here he was, failing exactly that. [break][break]

But even like this, he can't help but fawn over the man before him. Their closeness short circuiting his brain, instantly making forget his own nerves. He holds him just close enough to make him desperate to close the distance. Just one more taste before this finishes blowing up in his face. [break][break]

"No." his voice is strained again. He swallowed thickly before continuing, "I-...it wasn't real. It was something to appease me." it sounded strange but how else could you explain the strange resemblances. "It wasn't you...I ended up getting involved with another researcher mid-hallucination. but-...I- kept my wedding ring." Even now, he was still protective over it. "I cheated. I lied. I didn't care anymore. It wasn't home." Just a dream that put enormous strain on him and everyone ese stuck in there.

He listens. That's really all he can do. He's not exactly good with relationships. His own connection with luciano fisk was tentative at best, witch Paxton finding new ways to almost ruin what they had. "I get the feeling." He doubted there would ever be a time he truly felt ready to speak to Luciano like that. If he really thought about it, they had no future together. He was holding someone's spot for them. A bit of attention before Luci eventually moved away to travel again. [break][break]

"I like to think you have a good chance. Maybe." he added. His own relationship notwithstanding, perhaps his friend would have a better time. The air is heavy, the mood awkward. He thinks of what his younger self would've done. Before Hoenn, before the war. All smiles and nervous laughter. He can't even force it now. Instead, he gets up to give Gunner a firm pat on the back. "You'll figure it out though. You're smart." He lets his hand drop and looks to the door before back at Gunner. "We didn't know what it would lead to." he added solemnly, his smiling flickering before going back to something casual as they continued walking. He would find Gwyar Wledig after some of his self defense courses. Hopefully the man wasn't too tired, but it seemed to be the only time that really lined up. Paxton had arrived just before the class ended, deciding to sit in and watch it happen in silence. The more he watched, the more he was convinced he had scouted out the right person for the job. Paxton nodded once before speaking a quick, "Lead the way." and following the Gym leader. Paxton looked around Hideo's office, picking the firmest looking seat to keep from slouching into it. "PROJECT SAPPHIRE will be a volunteer research program under the AQUA initiative." he began. "Our main focus is legends and shards, but in exchange for volunteers we also offer a variety of information for their benefit." he explained. [break][break]

He continued speaking to Elise, leaning on his desk as he allowed the dual type to sniff the treats out. "We can work with your schedule. This is high priority after all." he takes a pause before finally looking up from Calyrex and at Elise properly. "I'm sure you've felt that tension in the air ever since we came back."

It is rare that he was allowed the Commissioner's ear. Most of his communications with dahlia goode were specifically through PENELOPE LIVY . Any concerns or suggestions, any feedback at all, he turned over to Penelope and moved on with his day. The Commissioner, after all, was very busy. Penny allowing him to become director of PROJECT SAPPHIRE lent some relevance to his name, sure. But he would take this opportunity to bring up things Penny couldn't. Or wouldn't. [break][break]

He didn't introduce the point, having sent up a document with a general overview of what his meeting would be about. "First, PROJECT SAPPHIRE's rework is progressing smoothly. I have been able to expedite the study of a few shard holders and avatars. Now I leave it up to Eva Morales and illeana reyes to synthesis their results for you." he said. "Recruitment is still at an upswing, I'm hoping to bring volunteer efforts to a sustainable number and avoid decline while we still have time." he takes a pause to let Dahlia ask her questions if she has any before he prepared to move to the next topic.

He hadn't seen much of lam logan since PRIMEVAL and their brief chats in the hospital. Hopefully, they weren't voerworking themselves. Not tat Paxton ad any grounds to say that. Overworking himself was one of the few things he excelled in. Just in case, he had sent some sort of email to let Lam know he needed to speak to him on official grounds. [break][break]

Paxton's ushered in quickly enough, getting shoved into the new knight's office without much flair where he waited quietly, only perking up when the door opened once ore as Lam entered. "Morning Lam. It's good to see you." he said, standing to greet the Gym Leader with a smile. "I won't take too much of your time.
