[break][break] "Coffee with whipcream?" His nose wrinkles. "That sounds crazy. Everyone knows whipcream oughta be at the top."

[break][break] Ollie would've loved to talk more about coffee preferences, but there was little time. He was sure noah faber had better places to be too.

[break][break] The battle starts off quick with Tofu throwing the remains of his treat to the side as he darts towards the center of the arena. Electricity sparks bright in his ruby red cheeks before the Tofu faces the other with a bright grin.

[break][break] Ollie didn't know a whole lot about other regions. After all, the only ones he'd been to include Hoenn, Kanto and Kalos. Though, he hoped to change that. One day, he hoped he'd be able to travel to Paldea and see all the cool pokemon that supposedly existed there.

[break][break] Well, for now, he supposed he'd have to be content with moments like this.

[break][break] "Dodge!" Ollie shouts, just in time too. The Pikachu darts around the flaming horns that come for him, which about nearly pierce him in two. Luckily enough, Tofu was pretty fast on his own.

[break][break] "Right - attack back! Use Discharge!"

[break][break] Cheeks crackling with light, the Pikachu releases a collection of thunder and lightning. Bolts lance through the air and across the battlefield, aimed to electrocute the other pokemon where it stands.

annalise henderson's support is well-appreciated, in addition to the pink mist that curls around him from illeana reyes. The cut that once formed thanks to the mechanical beasts stitches together at the Head Scientist's powers, and he glances quickly at her in thanks before jumping out into the fray.

[break][break] illeana reyes then talks about where these beasts are coming from. He hasn't thought about the RVL routes in a long time, but Illie must know what she's talking about, he decides.

[break][break] Alongside Gunner Graves, he nods. "Agreed. I don't want to think about what'll happen if we can't stop them coming."

[break][break] He replaces Saffron with River. The sight of the shiny blue Tyrantrum materializes in the middle of all the chaos, just as Ollie shouts out his order. "Help Gunner out, River!"

[break][break] The dragon lets out a mighty roar as it's EARTHQUAKE tears the ground into a fissure, resulting in several of the strange beasts to collapse at their feet. Behind them, the sight of illie's SPATIAL REND gleams into a burst of pink light.

[break][break] The Pikachu barely manages to dodge from the poisonous attack, leaping backwards. Purple splatters across his fur and he feels the venom soak into his fur.

[break][break] His dynamax band glows with white light as his DYNAMAX ENERGY is triggered. Tofu multiplies in size, looking magnificent as he casts a shadow across the arena.

[attr="class","textbody"] The whistles from the ex-Head Ranger confuse Ollie for a moment, not used to such tactics when it came to battling. It became obvious though when the Riolu combatted with a swift ICE PUNCH to the face.

[break][break] "Woah! Are you communicating with your pokemon through whistles?!"

[break][break] It wasn't exactly something uncommon but the first time that Ollie had seen it in person. Most of the time, the Head Ranger tended to talk to his pokemon in an obvious way. The only difference was with pokemon like Tofu, who he'd known for over a decade.

[break][break] Tofu slumped against the floor as he was thrown backwards, before climbing back to his feet. He shook his fur before baring his teeth, releasing a DISARMING VOICE in the form of floating pink notes.

[attr="class","textbody"] Usually strength was the competition of speed, but it wasn't always. In this case, it certainly wasn't — Ollie was surprised at the sight of the swiftness that the Urshifu bobs and weaves to avoid the lightning bolts.

[break][break] Ollie cups his hands over his mouth to try to get his partner's attention. "Hey! Tofu! Let's up the anty!"

[break][break] Raising his arm into the air, the Head Ranger's band glowed with power. DYNAMAX ENERGY swirled around the Pikachu in a tornado of light as it multiplied in size. It's behemoth form took up the majority of the arena as he roared to life, light swirling around him as he released a MAX GEYSER.

[break][break] Torrents of water exploded across the platform, aimed to knock the Urshifu off it's feet if it wandered too close.
