Hearing the other teen lay claim on Magneton he released Hades from the his pokeball. Considering Metagross’s psychic typing the Zweilous would be the best for this. ”Hades take aim at Metagross with dragon pulse to get its attention than use crunch,” he told the draconic pokemon.

Hades having his orders fired a dragon pulse at Metagross causing it to come down from the ceiling. Before it could try to counter Hades was already on it using crunch making it flinch back. Where Hades used dragon breath in an attempt to paralyze it.

There was one Pokémon he really wanted. He wanted a Manectric. Back in Unova one couldn’t just catch an electrike and evolve it. One had to have it traded to them from someone who had caught one in another region. He had never run into anyone willing to trade either to him. Though he hadn’t really had anything to trade back then, but he would’ve been willing to catch any Pokémon if it meant acquiring one for his team.

”I’ve considered getting a guide pokemon. Relying on a cane isn’t bad but it is something you need to keep up with if you go out with. I’ve always wanted a Manectric though, they’re hard to come by in Unova unless they’re traded and I was never able to find anyone willing to trade for one,” he explained seeming a bit putout by the whole ordeal.

The voice surprised him having been to focused on trying to get a small break in that he hadn’t noticed the girls presence. To his credit only the slight pause he had before turning to face her was the only indication of his surprise. ”Forgive me I didn’t realize anyone else was sitting here,” he said giving the young woman an apologetic smile.

It took a few seconds for all of what she had said to sink in. ”Not to throw your kindness back in your face, but are you sure it’s wise to allow someone you don’t even know to join you? You’re lucky I’m not dangerous but there are dangerous people that make Hoenn their home. Don’t be so quick to trust someone,” he told her a worried look briefly showing up at the thought of her getting taken advantage of, before being replaced by a welcoming expression.

”Though if you really don’t mind I’ll take you up on that. I’m sure the rest of the staff will be able to hold down the fort while I rest for a few minutes,” he said as he sat back down. The fact she was so willing to allow him to join her was definitely surprising. He wondered why she had though.

Hearing his response he wasn’t sure if he should be insulted or not. He furrowed his brows, or brow since only one brow was visible, in confusion. Of course he had no way of knowing that the older male had at first thought he was the farmer. Or that the older male had let out a bunch of farm animals. If it wasn’t for Venus he probably wouldn’t have noticed that anyone was nearby.

”Don’t worry about it I didn’t take offense,” he told the brunette, deciding not to tell him that that he hadn’t been sure what to make oh his comment. He had never heard of it described like that before but he decided not to give it too much thought. ”What do you mean about that?” he asked curiously before speaking before he could say anything. ”If you don’t mind that is.”

He took in what he was saying and frowned. ”Well that doesn’t sound good. I can help you out if you want. I’m sure if we work together we could get them back before the farmer notices,” he said shooting the older a reassuring smile. Hopefully it wouldn’t be to hard with the both of them.

Hearing his question he gestured towards Venus at his side. ”I have Venus, a hard glare from her should get them intimidated. A glare from serperior can halt its opponent’s movements, so it should work for something like this,” he explained before allowing his hand to drift to Hades pokeball.

”Thanks,” he said his face only heating up a bit in embarrassment. He’d always been a bit modest so complimenting him embarrassed him. Though he was getting better about not allowing it to really affect him. Or maybe that wasn’t what had had him so flustered the last time. But he wasn’t about to get into all of that.

That was an easy analogy to use even if he hadn’t been on a bike since before he’d lost his vision. But people said you never forgot how to ride a bike. ”Seems simple enough,” he said testing out what he’d said until he had it memorized. He made sure to be careful though.

That wouldn’t be hard to remember either. He didn’t want to have her start so he didn’t test that out but he nodded to show what he said had sunken in. The high pitched squeal wasn’t unsettling to him though it did hurt his ears a bit. He was sure Josh was use to it but he had more sensitive hear do to being blind. Thankfully it didn’t lead to a sensory overload, it would take more than that to accomplish that.

”They might have. My aunt was the one who told me about the mission and she can be a bit scatterbrained at times,” he admitted amusement coloring his tone. ”She means well though she helped me start up my restaurant,” he told the older male.

It seemed the older male didn’t mind though and just introduced himself. ”Nice to meet Wren. Shinobu can be a bit of a mouthful so if you want to call me Shin go ahead.”

Well it wasn’t uncommon for dragon types to be a bit finicky or hard to control. Most dragon types were pretty aggressive, but there were some exceptions to the rule. ”Weird about the Goodra though, they’re usually friendly and pretty meek,” he pointed out his expression thoughtful.

”Does your Goodra look different from a normal Goodra. Because I’ve heard a different form had been discovered and that it was pretty clingy,” he told the older male. Speaking of clingy that reminded him of Yuki, his alolan vulpix, who always wanted his attention.

Bringing up his blindness was almost second nature since his aunt would often forget to let people know. However he hadn’t expected the older male to think he was at fault for something. ”Oh no need to apologize. Some people just think being blind makes me helpless. My aunt and her family don’t treat me like that, but I’ve ran into people who have. I wasn’t trying to assume things though.”

”Hideo, it would be weird to shop with someone without knowing their name. I was telling him about seasonings he could keep on hand and an easy to make recipe to make if he wasn’t up to something that required a lot of effort or time,” he explained. He enjoyed helping people out when it came to cooking. And he hoped the younger teen would enjoy the recipe he had given him.

Hearing what he said he had to give it some thought. His cousin had been trying to get him to go to granite cave. On some kind of dare he believed. He knew his cousin wouldn’t put him in danger so he figured what had happened at granite cave was done and over with. His cousin hadn’t send anything about him having to go alone though.

”Granite Cave,” he said at last after having given it some thought. Hopefully his brother wouldn’t mind. He didn’t want to make someone uncomfortable after all. The teen wanted them to be friends since he figured from what Aaron had told him they were around the same age.

”Yeah I think of it like cooking. You practice cooking to get better so as long as I keep trying or I suppose I should say start trying to catch Pokémon I’ll get better. I’m pretty good at navigating around my home without an aid of a cane,” he told the younger teen. So he’d gotten the hang of navigating blind when it didn’t come to catching Pokémon.

He didn’t sound that old. Had he gotten Pokémon before he was ten. ”You got Pokémon before you were ten?” he inquired turning his face towards the younger male. His own parents hadn’t allowed him to get a Pokémon until he was ten. Then he had immediately been expected to start his journey and go on the gym circuit.

If it hadn’t been for Hideo he probably would’ve started that way. It didn’t take long for Hideo’s Beheeyem to return and for a basket to land in his arms. ”Thank you,” he said as he put the flour in the basket. What Hideo said wasn’t to surprising. Yuki could sometimes be like that. She seemed to think he needed to be covered up even when it was really hot at night.

Yeah he knew it would. And for the most part he was use to it. He was more use to his blindness than he was when it came to his sisters death. ”For the most part I’m use to it. He had never been on a date so he wondered what would be expected of him. Or if anything would be expected of him. The teen wondered if Keenan had been on other dates and considered asking but didn’t. Asking about that would probably be weird.

Shin was sure his aunt would be able to give him advice but he couldn’t exactly call her when he was with the guy he was going to go on a date with. And his cousins were a no go. They would probably tease him about being on a date. Not to be mean but because that’s what cousins and siblings did.

If they were planning on getting something here he would have to look into restaurants. He didn’t frequent Dewford much so he wasn’t sure what there was to eat. Though being a chef that owned his own restaurant he supposed he should. He would have to memorize the eating establishments around the island. The teen doubted it would be much considering the size of the island.

Thinking of food made him think of something. ”You’re not allergic to anything food related are you?” he inquired turning his head towards the other teen. It was best to ask instead of risking an allergic reaction. Keenan hadn’t said anything when he had brought up the date, but he wanted to be sure.

The subject moved on and he listened to what the other teen said. Mentions of team rocket had him frowning. He wondered what the other male really thought about team rocket. ”What do you think of team rocket? Do you think all of them are as bad as people claim? Or do you think there are some halfway decent people in team rocket?” he inquired his expression curious as he regarded the other male.

Shin knew that not everyone in the league were as good as they wanted to claim. That there were some less than savory people that considered themselves aligned with the league. There was good and evil in everyone.

Multiple people were out sick so they were a bit understaffed. Because of that he had to also wait some tables in-between cooking. Luckily they weren’t to understaffed when it came to the kitchen staff so the other chefs could help him keep up with the cooking. His lack of eyesight made it hard to wait the tables though.

And he was sure if he hadn’t memorized the layout of the place it would be even harder. His Manectric was helping to guide him as well. He didn’t usually didn’t have his larger Pokémon out in the restaurant but the patrons didn’t seem to mind as long as the electric type didn’t get to close to their food.

Despite her size Tempest was able to easily find paths between tables and he was able to give people the food they ordered making sure to give people the right food. Feeling a bit worn out he decided to take a small break at a table not really paying attention to rather or not it was already occupied.

He couldn’t help but blush a but in embarrassment. ”To be fair it was only suppose to be a friendly game among friends. I never played on any teams, had the gym circuit in Unova to focus and didn’t want to have to many things on my plate,” he explained, after his embarrassment had died down a bit.

When Pinky moved over to him he allowed her to rub her feelers against him. Hearing the gym leaders response he nodded. Meant she was easy to learn with than. He moved to do what was told of him feeling around for the saddle Venus hovering near in case he needed help.

When Aaron mentioned a blind trainer his thoughts strayed to the blind boy he had met earlier that day. Running low on stuff he had decided to do a bit of shopping at the department store. And that was when he had run into Hideo Kino. Running into another blind person had definitely been unexpected.

Hideo’s earlier words also came to mind. About how he was the only other blind person he had met. If that was the case did that mean he could be referring to Hideo? Unless he had run into some other blind person that him and Hideo had yet to meet. But the only other blind person he knew of was one his cousin had talked about, a blind girl who was paralyzed from the waist down as well. His cousin had said her name was opal garcia.

Since Aaron had said he he could only assume he was talking about Hideo. ”I actually met a blind boy early when shopping. He was telling me about the ways he did. He’s the only other blind person I met. But I am curious about that blind girl my cousin was telling me about,” he told the younger teen before continuing.

”And if you’re sure your brother wouldn’t mind I think I’ll take you up on that. To be honest I just haven’t made the time with having the restaurant and before I moved here I was not in a good headspace,” he explained knowing that it was hard for him to have a good balance between work and relaxation with him often working more than he should.

”Venus is pretty good with directions, or at least she’s never gotten me lost,” he said a pleased sound coming from the direction of his Serperior showing she had heard the compliment. Hearing the sound he couldn’t help but let out an amused huff. ”Don’t be getting a big head,” he called in the direction of the serpentine Pokémon before returning his attention to the younger male.
